So while Alex and Claire were friendly with Sebastian and Antoinette, they never officially joined the court of broken chains, due to Antoinette denying them entry.
Antoinette was an extreme pacifist, and she didn’t want to free the Beastial slaves through force. She wanted to reshape elven society so that elves and beastials could live together in peaceful, equal harmony.
The worry was that Alex, as a white elf, would hold too much sway over the elven courts. If Alex told the courts to “free the slaves” most would do it, but out of fear of the white elf, not because they believed what they were doing was wrong.
And those courts that didn’t free their slaves, might try to fight against Alex and the court of broken chains, starting a whole civil war.
Added to the troubles, elven society thrived on the Beastial slave labor system, if the slaves were suddenly outlawed and taken away over night, or in a single year, then elven society would collapse.
So, despite Alex’s best intentions, her joining would really only harm the court of broken chains. Antoinette strategy was “the long game” slowly getting the courts to better their treatment of slaves, and then remove slavery all together, over the course of a century.
There was however one saviour allowed to join the court of broken chains! Jean-Luc the immortal joined and often acted as Sebastian’s body guard, much to Sebastian’s annoyance. That was the time period where most of the Jean-Luc flashbacks happened when Sebastian was fishing with Sam.
I notice you say ‘were’ friends. If I’m not mistaken, they at least are aware of each others existence. Alex, Claire, and Jean-Luc still use his house, after all. Alex also wants Claire and Sebastian to meet. Claire and Sebastian also send letters back and forth. I really want to know what they talk about. It’s probably some heavy stuff, considering what exactly is going on in their respective lives.

Something that popped into my head recently, did the Elves ever have cases where a kid was born with an unknown color/ 2 colors? is that even possible?
Black haired elves are a bit of lore I admit I haven’t fully decided on or committed to. Black haired elves might be a rarity second to white elves, known for being major smarty pants, or Claire is the first and only black hair elf.
My headcannon is that Black haired elves are usually caretakers for older elves suffering from mental degradation. mostly because I think funny imagining everyone thinking Black haired elves are the edgiest and idk are in charge of evil black magic but nah, they are just sweet caregivers making sure no one passes away alone.

We’re rolling out the first phase of update 2, which got so big we decided to split it up into parts. Phase 1 has a city to explore, plenty of conversations to be had between the characters, AND a fully finished side quest that will test your combat abilities.
