i previously remember being able to gain EXP and level up before the new update, did something happen to that?
That was apparently not supposed to happen in the first place. I asked the same thing earlier.
Hi Nerds, congrats on the launch of the new update, I enjoyed all the new scenes with Luci! (Best Girl btw)
I do hope you find a solution youâre happy with regarding the vore issue. Luci may not suit being a pred personality-wise, i feel like non-fatal/accidental-digestion is more her style but just an idea.
The mice story is very interesting I would love to hear more about it, sounds like a dream she would have. Maybe she eats them while sleepwalking
.
The idea that nerd and clinko came up with about the rat town sounds really interesting. I hope it ends up in the canon, rather than just being some fleeting, ethereal dream. I also agree that accidental swallowing would weaken the storyâs impact. Compared to other bloody fetishes, soft vore already reduces the sense of deathâthe prey remains alive inside the stomach, and the digestion process is basically just seeing the predâs belly soften.
As for character portrayal, I think the three-dimensionality of characters comes from the fact that people are complex, not perfect, and everyone has a dark side. Take Lucy, for exampleâshe initially just wanted to use Mina, but in the end she chose kindness. Of course, making the villain the one who gets eaten is a morally satisfying approachâfor instance, rats steal things and so on. But on the flip side, Lucy is a cat (even if she doesnât admit it, lol). And cats eating mice is perfectly in line with the natural food chain, isnât it?
A solution would be focus the main story entirely in stuff and non-vore scenarios, including the animations and pictures, and make sub-quests with vore.
U can even make one per character if u feel like it. They donât have to be related to the main story in the slightest, and youâre free to create subplots with the characters. Of course, like any side quest, theyâre not mandatory if you donât like vore.
I think itâs a way to keep both communities happy with the game without forcing the story in one way. And if they still donât like they always have the choice of not playing the game.
I always hate when people try to force the creators to do the game as they want it instead the original idea.
Yeah, but from what @Nerds said, he likes the vore himself and was planning to make it cannon in SB. He then reconsidered making it cannon thinking about the people who loved the stuffing content and would miss out on the final parts of the game, once Essie became a more prominent character.
Donât get me wrong, I really like your solution as Iâm not really much into vore myself and human vore is a huge turn off for me (slimes/objects are fine). Itâs just that making a game takes a lot of effort and especially since the game is free, we should just accept his choice.
I honestly think that would be a very bad decision. Trying to fully please both sides usually ends up leaving neither side satisfied.
Making vore secondary in a game thatâs supposed to be about vore doesnât feel like a good idea to me. Thatâs how some games fall into the trap of advertising âvore contentâ when in reality you barely find any. I hope that makes sense.
In my opinion, vore should be a canonical part of the story. Iâm not saying it all has to be introduced at once â it could be increased gradually and more significantly with each update as the story progresses.
Relegating it to a secondary or non-canonical role would make the game lose a big part of its charm and go against its very premise.
You know, a âgame about voreâ and âgame where vore will be cannonâ is not the same thing.
I donât mind the side quests option. Iâd prefer it if it was canon, but Clara in the chocolate factory was my second favorite scene in SB, and it (unfortunately) wasnât, so I could go either way.
Ultimately though, I can wait until the end of development for stuff to be added. Iâm loving the plot and need to see how this ends. Iâm so hyped!
I still stand by my point. I donât mean this in a rude or hostile way, but I genuinely donât think that approach makes much sense, and I believe it would be poor advice for the developers.
If vore is meant to be one of the gameâs core themes and a fundamental part of its identity, then making it non-canon would be a huge mistake. At that point, what would be the purpose of building a game around a concept thatâs supposedly essential while also treating it as if it doesnât actually happen? If thatâs the direction, it would honestly make more sense not to include it at all.
To be clear, this isnât criticism of the game or the developers. My comment is directed at the suggestions that vore should be made non-canon or reduced to a secondary, optional element. The same reasoning would apply to any other niche genre as well, whether itâs a weight gain game or any other game built around a specific central theme.
The situation is completely different for games where vore was never presented as a core feature in the first place, such as SomeBullshit. In those cases, keeping it non-canon or treating it as optional is perfectly understandable because it isnât a defining part of the gameâs identity.
Hear me out. While I completely agree with you on a point of principle (not just as a vore lover, but a lover of great writing), Nerds did say he didnât want to ostracize his friends who want to play and arenât into vore.
âWhy play a game with vore as a central theme if you arenât into vore?â Once again, I completely agree. However, it could be that theyâre interested in the weight gain elements and find themselves able to deal with the stuff they donât like to get to the stuff they do like. I know thatâs the case for me.
Iâm not into weight gain. At all. âWhy am [I] here then?â You might ask. Plain and simple, Nerds doesnât have an Ekaâs account, and I want to play his games. He has, in my humble opinion, THE best vore games around. Bar none. So I am willing to put up with the stuffing and weight gain to get to the story and vore.
Also, Emmie is adorable and must be protected at all costs.
But even I have my limits. I recently played a game with vore as central theme, but all the other stuff I wasnât into featured so heavily that I couldnât simply âdeal with itâ to get to what I wanted. It basically killed the enjoyment of an otherwise fine experience. I havenât played the newest update at all because of it. I think Nerds is trying to avoid anyone else feeling like that.
Personally, I feel like CFC had potential for more vore, but everyone has different limits. I use Samiâs vore technique every run. I literally just find an excuse to use it (outside of the mines where it helps so much), but there might be others who actively avoid using it at all.
Again, I hear you and agree, but I get the dilemma Nerds is dealing with.
Also also, happy belated birthday, Clinko!! Iâm only⌠two weeks late. ![]()
First of all, I want to apologize if my previous comment wasnât clear enough. It seems I didnât explain my point very well. My criticism was never aimed at Nerds, the development team, or Cause For Concern itself. The game is still in development, and I donât think it would be fair to judge its direction at this stage.
What I was actually referring to were a few suggestions Iâve seen in this thread. In my personal opinion, some of them could end up hurting the gameâs identity if they were ever implemented, because they go against one of the elements that has been presented as a core part of the experience: vore.
If the developers openly describe vore as one of the gameâs main themes, then thatâs something players naturally accept when deciding to play it. I completely understand that vore isnât everyoneâs cup of tea, and thatâs perfectly fine. But I donât believe the solution is to push such a fundamental theme into the background or make it non-canon. If a game is built around a particular concept, I think itâs more reasonable for players to accept that aspect than for the game to move away from its own identity.
The reason I made my previous comment is actually because I care a lot about this project. I genuinely enjoy the developersâ work, the art, the writing, and the world theyâre creating. Iâd hate to see it repeat a mistake that Iâve seen happen in other vore gamesâand even games centered around completely different niche themesâwhere, in trying to appeal to everyone, they slowly dilute the very thing that made the project unique. Eventually, they end up somewhere in the middle, without fully satisfying either audience.
That doesnât mean every scene has to revolve around vore or that the story shouldnât explore other ideas. I actually think having variety is important. My only concern is that a theme introduced as one of the gameâs foundations should continue to feel like one of its foundations, rather than becoming little more than a background detail over time.
That said, I do understand the dilemma you mentioned, and I can absolutely see why Nerds wants the game to be enjoyable for a wider audience. I just hope that, while finding that balance, the game never loses the identity that made so many of us interested in it from the very beginning.
Sorry, but no. Youâre just projecting what you want this project to be and doing it quite forcefully. Everybody can have their own opinions and things that they enjoy. That includes the dev team especially.
Donât claim that you know âwhat would hurt the gameâs identityâ. Thatâs for Nerds, Clinko and the rest of the development team to decide, as they have a vision. If you look at my last comment, you can see that Nerds actually has given it a like. So hope that the game will go in the direction that youâd like to see, but donât be pushy about your wants.
I donât understand why this has turned into personal attacks rather than a discussion about the actual point I made. Iâm not inventing anythingâIâm simply referring to what the developers themselves have explicitly said.
Itâs not a personal attack. Just let others have their own opinions. You already told what you wanted to say and Nerds obviously has red your comment.
Just donât claim to know what is better for the future of the game, because itâs rude towards the whole developer team. Thatâs the only problem.
Friend, Iâm really not looking for an argument. I honestly donât understand why youâre so upset or what the point of the personal remarks is.
If you read the two longer comments I posted earlier, I think youâll understand what I was actually trying to say. You also havenât really addressed any of my argumentsâinstead, it feels like youâre attacking me personally.
Iâm not attacking anyone. Just like everyone else in this thread, Iâm simply sharing my opinion. Iâm not trying to impose my view or tell the developers what they have to do. Iâm only expressing something that, from my perspective, is important to bring up. In the end, Nerds and the rest of the development team are the ones who will decide what direction the game takes.
Is it really such a bad thing to say that I hope the game doesnât lose its original direction because of pressure from a portion of the community?
Donât let it get to you, man. I honestly donât think you said anything disrespectful. You were simply sharing your perspective, and you explained your reasoning in a respectful way. Itâs completely normal for people to disagree, but I donât think that should turn into personal attacks. Hopefully the discussion can stay focused on the ideas instead.
I guess this is quite literally a Cause for Concern ![]()
I share that concern as well. I just hope that, despite any pressure from part of the community, the game stays true to its original vision and doesnât end up sidelining one of its core themes.
Uh, I donât think thereâs any âpressureâ to do less vore. Nerds quite literally said there will be plenty more in the future. (paraphrasing a little bit)
I donât think thereâs any actual conflict here other than a back and forth that had kind of diluted into nonsense
