The demo version caps the players at a week, but the full version gives you the full thirty days! Those thirty days are all that you’ll have before the game ends and the epilogues start. There are 5 planned secret endings, among the other “normal” endings that change depending on the players’ actions and can sort of overlap with one another.
Is there any other way to “pass time” than working/sleeping? For some reason i feel like i’m missing something obvious in making money, even freelance coder barely earns enough
Unfortunately, the only ways to pass time to the evening are working or napping until the evening. You should be getting more money every time you put in a few extra hours - I’ll see how bumping up that extra rate affects things.
I think that capped freelancer earns 12 money every day, it’s not enough to fatten up all girls during one gameplay, especially if you consider that “odd” food is pure RNG when it comes to gaining and if i remember correctly, some girls eat only odd food.
At long last, I have a playable demo again!
After breaking and rebreaking (and then rebreaking again and again) this game over the past few months, I’m at a place where I’m happy to have something publicly available for all to play!
This has been a long time coming and, thanks to the support of my patrons and the help of a team of bug-squashers over on my Discord server, Cicada Springs finally has a demo that’s worthy of playing! I think the last time we had one of these was in version 0.4. - and we’re at version 0.9.6. now! So much has changed since the year I released the previous demo, you guys.
The most recent version of the game is not finished yet. But it’s also in a much more stable place, where a demo build is possible. If you would like to help support me as I make fun fatlit games like Cicada Springs, Coven of Calahree, or even just get full access to all of my stories, consider subscribing on Patreon!
This is a free version of the game designed to give folks a sneak peek at what I’ve been cooking, and get a better idea at where this game’s going to land now that we’re inching closer and closer towards the finish line.
Thank you all again for your continued support as I continue to tame this beast, and I hope you enjoy what you play of the new and improved Cicada Springs.
I’ve gone ahead and updated the main post with the current build and the new demo. Go check it out!
The Mega download of the new demo doesn’t seem to work, just keeps erroring on loop. Is it just me or do other people have the same problem?
Hi!
How or where can I find the code for the vending machine? Or better: Is the code for the vending machine in the demo?
Hey, I just checked the link from two separate devices, logged in and logged off. It seems to be working so far, but there was a brief window where I edited the link. Maybe that’s it? Sorry about the trouble!
The code will be dropped through breadcrumbs in the final version. Right now, it’s not programmed in. It won’t do much for you in the Demo mode, but the code is all 9’s (for now)
Thank you for the fast answer and for sharing the current code.
Not sure if its a Patreon issue but its not letting my subscribe to yours. Says you have membership on pause.
This is a pretty confusing issue, because I’ve had a few people subscribe to the $5 since I’ve paused the billing. I got a similar message on DeviantArt the other day, and started to take a note of it, but I haven’t heard back from them. If you’ve managed to subscribe to the $3 tier, shoot me a message on Patreon and I’ll be happy to send you over the full version
Unfortunately it doesn’t matter the version. They all say you cannot subscribe while the creator has membership on pause.
does anyone know what is the passcode and what does that do ?
its for the vending machine and currently its all 9s
That’s really strange - obviously I believe you (Patreon and being kind of a shitshow go hand in hand) but I can’t understand why it’s happening and that’s what’s bothering me. I’ve had three people sign up for the $5 tier within the past forty-eight hours, and I’ve gotten a few folks who have signed up for the $3 tier and have upgraded their pledge. Maybe if you’re in a country outside the US they have different regulations for what you can pledge during breaks? I can’t find anything on the matter in Patreon’s help section, and it explicitly states that patrons should be able to pledge, but recurring patrons won’t be billed during my pause.
As a test, I made sure that I could access the demo version, and I’m able to do that. If you can pledge to be a free member (which also has lots of cool perks) reach out to me on Patreon and I’ll hook you up as best I can, friend. I’m really, really sorry for the inconvenience and I hope it doesn’t leave a bad taste in your mouth as far as the project goes. Whatever I can do to help out, I’m happy to
Nah its all good. Hopefully it’ll get fixed for you soon. you should be rewarded for your efforts. Ive signed up for the free membership. Also took a screen-cap of what I’m seeing on this end.
This was also the case when not being subbed. I have subbed in the past so maybe that’s why but yeah. Completely in the dark.
That’s really odd, but that theory holds water at least. I’ve responded to your message on Patreon, and I hope that things go more smoothly from here. Thanks again!
