Any tips for beating Hard Mode? Are dates a good idea or are they a $1k trap?

Ellie is simple to get through hard mode and the regular game with, in my opinion. She is very consistent on gaining weight with doing the same things as long as your maximizing winnings like you should be. And dating in general I think is the only true way to āwinā. As the captain scene doesnāt unlock without enough of the heart meter filled, I believe. Iām sure you can win without it technically, but the girls get pretty big on hard mode. So, you would definitely want to play perfect without it.
Also, Ellie best girl. So, there is that reason to choose her

You learn how each cowgirl plays her cards on the third date. Each date boosts love, which boosts the gain for your cowgirl - so you should go on dates, ESPECIALLY early on.
Once you know how each cowgirl plays their cards, you can bet with 100% confidence, because youāll know what card to play to beat them every time.

Am I missing something? From my play, I thought that the other cowgirls were choosing from a different hand, and the best I could do is know their distribution of picks (odd preferred, even preferred).
The deck is 1-10, you get half and your opponent gets the other half.
What the girls pick isnāt based on evens / odds!
Really like this one, the bigger models look a little bit goofy but HS is quite limited when it comes to larger sizes so itās still a great effort.

Iām the least proud of Cynthia. She got the short end of the stick. I made over 100 graphics for this game and wrote ~20 hastily written dates (thereās 40 total, but a lot of them are just hereās a nude in the bedroom), so some of it had to get rushed. Iām pretty good with postprocessing and making big girls look good, but there was just no time!

I get that the girls each have a strat. Iām beating them handily and raking in 2500/2750 on the reg Itās the gaining strat thatās the issue for me as itās incredibly difficult to keep up with at least 1 cowgirl (freaking Lucy in my case).
I was a bit confused when I got turned down for a date one time and told to focus on the contest, leading me to conclude that dates werenāt always a good thing and that the 1k could be better spent on food, but at the same time you do need to date, no? 1k is a lot of money to spend on not eating though, especially in Hard Modeā¦
Also trying the different girls and it turns out they all bet differently as well? That blows for a Cynthia fan as sheās the only big better out there. Seems like a penalty to pick her since youāll simply have less money to spend.
(Suffice to say, Iām having fun with figuring out the correct racing line here. Good job, Anonymoose!)

Iāll admit that Iām struggling to unlock this howeverā¦
- Progress through failure - Lose spectacularly (under 200 lbs) to unlock this special ending!
Iām becoming an ace at tanking each hand and winning/feeding nothing but I see no ending. Either I unlock NG+ in standard or get told that āHard Mode is hardā in Hard Mode.

Thatās true about Cynthia - she is the only big better, so itās harder to win if you pick her. Lucy is the easiest to win with because she always bets small, so your opponents are more likely to bet more getting you more.
Youāre probably doing too well if you havenāt gotten the bad ending. Protip, you can sabotage your own victory by making sure you always lose and spending every bit on stimulants to make sure youāre as small as possible at the end to get the special ending there.
Iām too stupid to guess what they will pick and I always lose. Can you give tips or something? Sorry for asking

Well by the third date all girls will tell you how the bet and what they play. So that is a hint that you can use when playing against that girl, but if you want an easier way you could always just save before picking a card and its either gonna be an even or odd card you need to pick. And just reload the save if you fail. If you choose an odd number and it fails, then pick an even. (This only doesnāt work if there are only even or odd choices, but I think I came across that like one time out of any playthrough).

Once you work out how each girl bets, itās just simple math to make sure you get what you need (odds or evens)
After that, you can breeze through the remaining stories quite quickly.
Wait thereās a bad ending?
I never knew! Gonna have to try get it now.

Itās a 50/50 shot per game if you donāt know how the opponents play their cards. You can use that knowledge to minmax your gains and win. Once you go on some dates, the game mechanic is trivial to win. Itās a weight gain fetish game - not a balanced RTS!
You can also always cheat and use quick save / quick load too!
