thank you will go ahead and retry

whats boundless? is it a weight gain game?

Boundless was a very very ambicious project, and yes it is about weight gain, it’s a sandbox rpg (more or less) where you explore a ramdomly generated world and uncover what lies in it. In it you can fight, trade with npcs, recruit some of the enemies (I still haven’t figured out how to recruit slimes) and mostly explore. If I had to say one thing about the game is that you will die a LOT but you keep most of your progress (as in items, recruits, aand your mound location, but only if you stay one the same planet). The game is also mostly text based with a few images here and there but you will be reading (or not) a lot. It is very fun but one thing that kinda frustrates me is that in some of the versions you can’t save. This was do to with it being a browser game before it was exported to this format. All in all it is a greeat game that I definetely recomend playing for a session or two, to see what you can find.

Boundless was a fever dream of a weight gain game. It’s own universe of non human creatures and its own nonsensical weight and calorie system. The game play was uninformative at best and more than frustrating at worse. However, it paved the way for other similar games which I would suggest Insatiable Hearts is a spiritual successor.

There was plenty of drama surrounding boundless and its creator but I never was interested to learn the details.

Dunno if it’s the same drama, but there was a bit of a fuss from the dev that led to a messy spiral.
The dev, despite making this fetish game all about lewdness and kinks and so on, really, really HATES sex, absolutely loathes it. Not an asexual, more like an “anti-sexual”.
At some point, some people were tired of the game constantly teetering on the edge between lewdness and porn and the dev working slow in general, so they made a modded copy called “Boundless: 4CE” that implements sex, fixes bugs, adds other content, helps tone down the confusing nature of the game, rebalances things, etc., it’s just a complete overhaul.
Overall IMO the mod was solid and didn’t do anything offensive, I liked it better than the base game at least, as it fixed basically every issue I had with the “real” game.

This made the dev have a full meltdown, and after some time the dev and their more, uh, “passionate” fans ended up throwing a fit and getting the 4CE taken down publicly.
I mean, it’s still the internet and the 4CE’s still out there if you look for it, but man.
Any time a download link gets brought up, that “inner circle” tends to hound whoever posted it and get it removed. Heck, even complaining about the shutdowns often makes one of them show up.

Seriously though, Boundless had this… circle of fans that practically took it like it was some kind of cult or religion, taking it dead-seriously There’s even fans who fully believe they’re FROM the world of Boundless, the world being real and that their soul got sent to Earth instead, so now they’re some alien blob creature trapped inside a human’s body, and no, they’re not joking.
Not saying all, or even a majority of the fans were like that, but there were definitely a few.
Dunno what kind of meds they’re on (or off, I guess), but jeez, that’s some serious mental hospital stuff right there, believing that you’re from a fictional porn game’s world, yeesh.
