Exotic Dangerous

Very good game.
P.S. Trying to patch obfuscated-js code is fun, but maybe you can post the source code somewhere on git?

by the way, maybe try using not json but some simpler format so that the AI can respond better?

source code for stable version will be posted, but I need to fix all the bugs first

from my experience the AI knows JSON best, it can’t write YAML at all

I wanted to say this is a game that I really really enjoy as a concept! Currently for what’s here I think it’s very well done in terms of formatting and options for world generation. I’ve already played around with it a fair bit and I enjoy the freedom that’s given.

That said I do want to mention that for the moment there are definitely some… issues.
The first, responses. Though the stats allow for the ai to give more long term feedback, I’ve also noticed that it puts ultimate importance on whatever was said last… and seemingly only that. As an example if a farmer talks to you and you reply back [I take a few steps forward. “It’s great to meet you!”] The Ai will typically respond [You wonder who you were mumbling about as you continue forward and notice [insert fauna here] on your path.]
It more or less completely ignores the fact that even in its own last response it mentioned the farmer and only focuses on what is available at that current moment + your response. While I’m not hoping for any huge amount of memory, some level is definitely necessary. Even just 3 responses back would make a world of difference.
Next mention is stat changes. The ai doesn’t seem to understand when it should or shouldn’t increase or decrease stats unless you explicitly mention it, and even then it’s often a 50/50 shot if it changes anything. You could say [I eat the large green fruit [+5 Fatness]] and the ai may not do anything, or it may increase your fatness by 3, or 7, or some other number. Personally I find the most success when I say something along the lines of… [I eat the large green fruit [Risk: +5 Fatness; -15 Stamina]].
I also want to mention that the ai seems to choose at random when Health, Stamina, and Stress are affected. Additionally, Satiety and Stomach I think may be broken because they ONLY slowly decrease over time. Only once did I manage to make the stomach value go up. It went up to like 40/100, made her belly the size of a large beach ball, and then slowly went down over time again.
Still on the front of stats, I’m assuming only the main ones affect the model. Whenever I try to add a stat, it almost never wants to do anything with it and if it does it usually just becomes NaN/100.

I know I just went on a long mention of all the things seemingly off or broken about the game… But I mean this when I say I think this can be a game beyond amazing and in several fronts it has already achieved that. Consistent model, weight gain in response to story, stats that correlate to it. Not only does it have all that, but the ability for anybody to be as creative as they want with it in terms of world building, stat building, creating new animals and plants, sounds, backgrounds, etc… I personally think the game with the most potential on this platform is this one right here.
The main stopgate I’m assuming is GPU power, but I genuinely hope that if you decide to continue this that a workaround can be found! If you are still working on this please let me know!

JUDGES’ VERDICTS:

An AI chat bot with a character sheet attached. Actions do not seem to matter, as the chat bot repeats phrases and situations even after trying to do different things. It takes a long time to generate responses. The chat bot also said that monsters were plants and plants were monsters on more than one occasion. It seems as though more time went into making the UI and model appear in the frame than went into the content of the “game”. In the spirit of the Game Jam being a place to learn and apply skills to make fun fetish content, falling back on a chat bot to create a text adventure does not seem like a proper use of the time spent on this Game Jam. I would have graded a linear text adventure that had direction and bespoke writing from the creator far better. While the UI is impressive, this also puts in a ploy for game preservation; An AI chat bot that needs to have a link to it VS an .exe or program that has the ability to be saved and archived means what work did go into this could be lost at the drop of a hosting service. What learning and even what expression or integration with a learning model here could be lost simply by the host of the site going down. In short; Fetish is a place of expression and creation by individuals emotionally and mentally attached to their kink. A chat bot cannot recreate the bespoke design of a kink oriented game.

What I liked about the entry was the clean and solid presentation and interface setting a clear sci-fi tone. The idea of being on uncharted planet and testing the local flora and fauna stomach-first with unpredictable outcomes was intriguing.
.
To address the elephant in the room, you had made no bones about your aim of incorporating an AI model into a game so, while ambitious in scope, it does put an obvious earmark on the experience for those expecting a more conventional RPG experience. Looking at it less like a game, all in all this was a brave experiment with attempting to combine elements of an engine like AI Dungeon in a more game-friendly way. We’re not there yet but it’s an interesting glimpse of what-could-be.
