different issue now, but i got it to load up

then after relaunching, loading the save kills it, as well as using the give money cheat
its not every time, but like 4/10 times it will crash

I was being dense. Found it and re-downloaded. still experiencing issues with it crashing on splash screen.
Any thoughts on why it might hang on launch? I don’t get any windows logs for an error, just eventID 1002.

Im no coder, but have had my fair share of computer issues. Do you have a few extra gigs of free hardrive space - I think there is an exact amount needed somewhere beyond the space for the game files, also is it saved in a non admin folder and do other Ren-py games work? 1002 is a generic error by the looks of it. Do you have an anti-virus that may be stopping it from running? A lot of games come up with the “run anyway” dialogue box when you try them for the first time, might be worth checking if it opens that message behind the programme so you can’t see it for some reason. Other than that, I think I am out of generic help. Hope one of those works.

I play on Android and in this version I can’t seem to get the follow-up from Natalie when we go to her house, has it ocurred to someone else?
Thank you for taking the time. Stuff I have tried:
-Turning off all anti-virus and firewall (not that firewall would make much sense)
-Running as admin, although main profile is admin so shouldn’t be an issue. regardless no dice.
-Updating graphics drivers in case there was a conflict on old drivers. (running a 3080)
-Other ren-py games work fine. This HAD worked and then just randomly stopped (crashing on splash screen) and completely deleting the DL and the folder have not worked.
-Manually trawling through the registry top delete entries
-Redownloading new file after purging previous one
-Running from a different drive
It’s on an SSD with 332gb of free space. Heaps of spare RAM. I’m 100% sure it’s my environment, but have no idea what.
That is really weird, I don’t know what else to suggest. Could maybe try downloading an older version to see if that works and is something in 0.11 specifically? Other than that, sounds like it is something far beyond my technical understanding sorry.
Out of curiosity, do you know what CPU is in your system? Someone mentioned a few months back on some Renpy game thread that 13th/14th-gen i9 CPUs had to limit their clock speeds with Intel’s XTU app (or in BIOS) to stop the game from crashing, which to me sounds like the standard Raptor Lake instability issues - while i9s have it worse, pretty much any (desktop) i5, i7, or i9 CPU with a 13xxx or 14xxx model number could potentially suffer the same effects.

Even on patreon, people are asking, if his acc is still active. But he was seen on this site recently(in his profile) so he isnt dead, lol. Probably life got to him, so he is busy with irl things.
I’m also a little worried. I noticed they’ve been a very quiet lately, but I also noticed that the page of latest update on DA getting “boosted” (promoted by the DA feature), so I don’t think they have left, at least not without a reason. Is not uncommon to be radio silent for a while, but if they are still unavailable in a few months…
I hope they’re okay.
I mean, it’s only been a month. That isn’t a very long time and if you look at their post history, they said absolutely nothing on this website between February and May. They usually wait to post something until they have a major update to give people, and that takes several months between updates. I wouldn’t worry, although I also wouldn’t expect anything any time soon, unless Blade does a Halloween-themed sequence again.
People are worried because it’s been 2 months since they’ve said anything in Discord and there hasn’t been a Patreon post since June.
Honestly the amount of games in the WG space that get just left for so long without any communication is shocking. Feels like as soon you find one you like you learn that the dev abandoned it. I don’t think that’s the case here but its not like it’s an uncommon occurrence
Right, I feel like even if they are going through something, just a simple heads up that they need to take a break would be better communication rather than going silent. I feel as though most people here would be very understanding of the need for prioritizing their personal life for the time needed.
How does one access cheats?
Be past the part where you name your character and not on the main menu and the cheats will be in the settings menu in the bottom right hand corner.
I read something they said somewhere about them dealing with the whole payment processors situation. That’s probably what’s kept them busy.
