Also, i agree that the visible sprites are the most important part for the enjoyment of the content. But I also think that including the weights. Especially for a game with stylized visuals like this one is important to have some way to relate the visual to what a girl of that weight might look like, which makes it easier to connect with them.

I feel like when it’s done like this story usually is more fragmeted and doesnt feel as good.

That’s why i liked all eisens games even not completed ones.

Last Haruka’s CG for next update done! Here’s a little anticipation of it that should give you a better idea of these new full-screen illustrations I’m working on :slightly_smiling_face: All of them also have multiple variations on the characters’ expressions so that they can replace the old scenes/dialogues. This one in particular as you can see it’s from Haruka’s scene in the pool (MC is deliberately eyeless, other characters will be super detailed and consistent with the normal sprites)

To give some more context, next update will add at least 8 new illustrations (3 for Haruka, 3 for Shiori and 2 with both – about 20 with all variations).

I agree with what you said above Wert, I should have included the weights from the start!

Apologizes for coming into this a little late. Regarding the weight for the girls, I trust your judgment. I think the example you provided of Haruka’s weight in stages is pretty accurate. I’m personally not invested in the weight or the BMI numbers, and am fine with using my imagination of how much the girls weigh in each stage since the story for the most part that information has been irrelevant, and the fact we can visual what they look like from the VN. Shiori brought up weight early on if going down her route and then her BMI was brought up by the doctor if I remember correctly. If I could take a guess, those stats in the story are meant for Shiori and Maki. Shiori is constantly reminded from her doctor about weight and BMI numbers. For Maki, when the MC and her are upfront about her kink, there are weigh-in sessions.

Regarding your idea to help increase subs by creating another game, in my opinion can be a risky. You will have supporters who will back you with anything you try doing, but at the same time, others may walk away because they might think the quality of the primary game will degrade while other project(s) are being worked on, or the fear that you are ultimately going to burn out and stop making games altogether. There are creators who can do this without issue, but I’ve also seen where it did.

You mentioned that subs were down pre-1.5.5. For the majority, people prefer to remain anonymous, (I’m sure you know this :p), and are not comfortable with expressing their opinion in a forum. Would it make sense to start having polls around the VN? Like, who is everyone’s favorite girl, what they like or didn’t like about a particular act, etc. Maybe there are areas in the VN that some did not like and could be re-touched on?

Thanks for the feedback, as usual! I agree about the weights, it would be strange for them to come up in the dialogues but I think they’re a nice addition to the codex.

I’ve completed all the CGs for the next update. Now I “just” have to replay everything once more, both to prepare for writing Act 6 and to tweak the dialogues a bit where I’ve inserted the CGs. (among other things, now every girl has a back sprite for each stage)

I’ll wait to see how the next update goes before deciding what to do. I should revamp the game’s “marketing” a bit too. I think I would be better off in terms of income if half of the players hadn’t bought the game on Itch when it was cheap at the beginning, but again, there are no major problems and I intend to finish the project, I just might be even slower. Perhaps the way I wrote my last few posts made me seem disappointed, but there is some language barrier and my tone is usually meant to be very chill.

About polls, they don’t really give me a lot of informations. The ideal would be having more opinions, even negative ones. My feeling is always that I’m wasting time and the more I look at the game the more I see things poorly done, apart from my personal enjoyment which is the main drive. In the end it’s just a small passion project. So yes, the thing that helps me most to continue is the feeling that there is some kind of interest, so I really thank everyone for your comments!

I would just like to offer a counter point to the above. I personally, and I know many others, do really love knowing the weights and even the calories. I think a character hearing either as part of the dialogue or being shocked by how much they weigh or ate can really add to the story. I’m a big fan of them being in the codex and I think if they come up naturally in the dialogue that is great as well.

I’m currently replaying the game to add the new illustrations and some dialogues. I just added two sounds for stomach growls and I plan to add at least one for burps and hiccups like more than one suggested. I will probably make a new main menu art as well.

Yeah don’t get me wrong, I like that too but I postponed it until now. The new codex has all the statistics for the five main girls right to their respective sprites. You will have to follow the routes to unlock all the codex pieces though. The actual numbers may be a little off so I will kindly ask for your feedback and they can be changed!

Apart from that, there will be a scene in Act 6 where the girls will be forced to reveal their current weights.

Thank you very much for adding those sound effects :slight_smile: That was my #1 feature I had hoped you incorporating into the VN. Further down the road, I won’t complain if there are additional sounds added :folded_hands:

I don’t know how much work it would take. But it might be nice to have the ability to toggle hiccups and burps on and off. I know that it’s a big thing for some people, but i prefer them off. Regardless there’s not too much in the way of sounds in the game aside from background music currently so i know it’s possible to just turn the volume off.

Oh that’s a nice idea. I might add an option to avoid burps and related things but at the moment it’s just going to be a couple of sounds. They’re probably not very good and I will improve them with time.

It would be nice to have moaning and eating/chewing sounds for every girl I suppose, but for now I will only add the bare minimum. More sounds will come in the future I hope.

Btw I’m currently going through the second half of Act 4. The update should be ready next week.

Personally, I think a text description of burps in dialogue would be fine for now. Would give you some time to research, gather, and add in sounds later.

Uh, it’s already sunday. I haven’t finished yet but I’m almost there! I need to replay and edit Act 5.

I decided to add CGs for Azumi, Maki and Eri too while replaying Act 4, and I’ll do the same for Act 5. To make up for the delay here is Eri’s first CG. I plan to include the first CG of each girl in the promotional material for the game anyway. This has just one additional variation with an angry expression (obviously). You may recognize the scene, it’s after you visit her at the hospital in Act 4. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for the feedback about the sounds! As I said there will only be a few in the next update, consider it a test. I’m adding most of the sounds and text descriptions as well in some points of Azumi’s route (stuffing, burps, and similar things will mostly be exclusive to her route). In the future I might add the toggles.

Anyway, all 12 new CGs are done (I still need to polish 3 of them though). At first I made more variations, but I had to scale back to keep the door open for a future hand‑drawn remake of the CGs, so most of the differences are small things like mouth or arm changes. Some CGs are close‑ups, others show the full body so there’s a bit of everything. Some turned out definitely better than others, but I hope they’re at least decent enough.

I’m also changing lots of small details. For example, I added the keychain the MC gives Shiori and Haruka’s gift in Act 4, I want to make a full set of chibi emotes, I’m trying to create 3‑second blade cut animations, a new menu art etc. I care quite a bit for this project and story :slightly_smiling_face: Anyway, I promise that after this update I will organize better so I can release more quickly!

I think that the weight need to be more evenly spaced out for stage 4, 5, and 6 rather than exponential. It makes the progression more immersive and gives a better sense of time in the visual novel. The maximum weight should be around 220. Anything past that would make the anime character models look inhuman. Giving Haruka slightly wider hips and a bigger butt and bigger breasts to Shioiri in the later stages might make their character models look less disjointed. Showing how the character’s weight and larger “assets” changes their interactions with the environment(like walking speed, their enlarged curves hindering them, etc) adds a lot to the character interaction with the environment. Also, Is there going to be a character with an hourglass figure putting the kgs on?

Finally the update is out!

Basically the new things are:

  • new CGs
  • stages viewer inside the codex (the weights are absolutely a test and I will change them slightly based on your feedback!)
  • new sounds (unfortunately I just started adding those so for now it’s all pretty poor quality and temporary)

I’d say with this version the currently present acts are finished. I will definitely make some other small changes, but most of the work is done and will remain that way. With the side and back sprites which have been there for a while now and the new CGs I think I’ve achieved the max I can do in terms of visual presentation. I know there are a lot of flaws and misplaced details, but I hope they give an idea of what I’d like to do (hopefully together with an illustrator) in the future. As you can see from the Gallery in the menu there are 37 CGs planned, 14 of which are already present. I apologize for the delay despite not having really added meaningful story advancements but it has been quite a busy period of my life. I don’t want to lie, development times will depend on the response to this update. I shared a bit about my personal situation in the posts above and while I intend to continue the development until I can, if I reach better and stable numbers I’ll try to speed up the schedule a bit and organize myself better. I’m not only interested in financial support but in comments, opinions and general interest in the project! And feedback of course. Working alone I find it hard to tell if the things I add are passable or if they completely suck, and it really helps to have an outside perspective. Opening Ren’py almost every day and working on this for a couple of hours is quite some time and I can’t afford to do it indefinitely (it’s already been almost a year!). Of course I’m compensated for this (and I think the support I’ve received is really incredible!), and that I’m definitely the one who’s slow (very true), but I’m not a professional in any of the skill sets required for game dev, and unfortunately I have to use my days to build a “real” and “stable” career apart from this project. This is not meant to be a negative post, quite the contrary. However, I realize that I would have liked to be further along with the story by now.

Anyway, tell me your favourite CG! I accept suggestions on poses and situations for the missing ones (consider one CG per girl is going to be a sex-scene) :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The weights are still a test. I will wait for some more comments to come and then I will decide how to edit them. I take note of your feedback! Anyway yes, max weight will be around 250 I think.

More interactions with the environment will be added in Act 6 when some of the girls will be really heavy!

About hourglass, I don’t think so for the moment, sorry.

Best CG in my opinion is still the whole group in pool from last patch (most likely bcs its only one where is Maki whole fav girl). In this patch its probably Haruka riping skirk. The only one that felt weird is where Shiori is alone in pool idk why probably too many spots that reflect light.
