I had a thought about maybe the healthiest way to develop the game. It might be beneficial to keep it at a couple of sprites per girl per weight stage, maybe one from the front, one from the back, and one from the side. Until the full story is implemented and all the major coding is done. Then backfilling images into the completed story, like maybe adding sitting, squatting, and different angles of these.
All of these after the actual story is done of course, I don’t think it would be pragmatic to spend so much time generating all the images before the whole game is implemented. The 3 major types of image that we know of for now I think are plenty to tell the base story around.
Just my thought on the matter. In case Eisen was trying to twist themself into a knot trying to come up with like 10 different angles per weight stage.

definitely agree with wert on this one.
also, this is the first weight gain game whose art surpasses forks in my eyes. this could be generational on god

btw, if you’re willing to get a little outsourced help, I’d love to go through the script and recommend some edits just to touch up some grammar. Absolutely blown away by the progress so far, and I’d love to be able to share a bit of the burden.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! I’m sorry I didn’t reply sooner but it’s been busy days.
I’ve finished everything for the next update, I just need to replay the whole game and do a lot of polishing. Beware that the update will be smaller as I already mentioned. It’s just going to add the end of Act 3 and the start of Maki route plus many small changes and fixes.
I’ve improved the back views. As for the side ones, I still have to decide how to handle them but I’ll address that in the next update post.
For now I would really appreciate it if anyone could point out really bad or grammatically terrible sentences they find while playing and report them here in the thread
When the game is complete I will do a proper general review of the dialogues. For now the priority is to get to the conclusion without looking back too much
Thanks a lot to everyone for the compliments. I’m glad the game has generated a little interest. Just keep your expectations not too high!

Looking forward to it. Is this update adding any stages for anyone? or is it more a story progress update? Either way, it’s a good excuse for me to do another full playthrough.

Update 1.3.5
The end of Act 3 is out with the 1.3.5 update. I added the resolution of the cliffhanger from last time and the start of Maki’s route, as well as a little teaser of Haruka’s weight stage 4!
Also, I added side views, I hope you like them! I had to modify the game a bit to do this so there may be bugs or errors.
This is a smaller update in preparation for Act 4 which will be very long and with a lot of individual scenes with the various girls. Keep in mind that I am just an amateur developer and I try to improve every time little by little.
Please let me know if you have any issues!
Payment/support model
As a side note, I’ve changed the payment model for the game as you can read more about on patreon. You can now either subscribe to one of the tiers there to get access to the latest build or buy the game at full price on Itch with all updates.
Here’s the patreon: https://www.patreon.com/eisenwg
This is because some poeple asked to release on Patreon too and I realized I need more support if I want to commission high quality illustrations from artists (CGs) in the future.
Obviously those who have already purchased do not have to do anything, they already have the complete game with all the intermediate updates!
Please write me any feedback or criticism

Damn, disappointed to see my previous Itch purchase is nullified. Looking forward to playing the game one day, though!
I generally don’t wade in on games I’m not that interested in, but wtf $20 for an unfinished visual novel using AI images. That’s an obscene price.

@eisenwg can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe they stated on patreon that those who already purchased on itch are not affected by the change in model and already have the game and all future releases.

Can confirm, you still have full access to the game if you bought it already.

TBF it was $4 until i think today, I believe eisen changed it to make it make sense to subscribe to the patreon, since the patreon doesn’t give perpetual access to the future updates. And the reason Eisen put the game on patreon as well was due to popular demand.
Just finished the latest update, more good stuff. Those side views are perfect for showing off weight stages. Keep the grind up. I think this is legit the most consistently updated game on here right now.

I would like to submit a formal apology o7 it appears despite being a certified gen z screenager, I am technologically illiterate and did not understand how to correct operate itch.
Sorry about that lol, looking forward to playing the new update on a shorter timeframe than expected!

@sfasecretfajj Sorry for the confusion
Yes, those who already bought on itch should still have access to all the updates. If that’s not the case, please write to me!
Thanks @Krodmandoon and @Wert844 for replying.
The price is a bit high on itch now, but I did it to encourage new users to go to patreon which I think is more sustainable for me right now. I believe this is the most common way used by many other games here? Correct me if I’m wrong.
The game still costs $5 if you want to try it. Oh, and I also changed the price of the highest tier accordingly but those who were subscribed to it should be automatically notified and cancel if they want.
I would like the $5 “game tier” (I didn’t know what to call it
) to become the main way to have access to the game.
Thank you for the feedback as usual, Wert! As you saw, I decided to use a mix of side and back views depending on the situation without relying too much on them. The frontal view still remains the focus. I hope you liked stage 4
Btw there are still so many things missing and I’m aware the quality is not always good.
Also, @mrtdum_222 the game is available on patreon now
@eisenwg
Thank you for allowing Patreon payment, I subscribed.
Here is my feedback if you want it. I won’t criticize things that I simply don’t like or that don’t turn me on.
- Your latest changes to the way you sell the game are not good from a marketing point of view in my opinion: 1) I don’t know if many people will subscribe to your Patreon. Surely there weren’t many like me, who didn’t buy the game because they were worried about privacy. Allowing Patreon doesn’t make things worse of course, but I don’t know if it will change much. 2) Not letting people download the demo anymore is a very bad marketing decision in my opinion - people don’t buy stuff they know nothing about. 3) Selling the game at $ 20 is a very bad marketing decision in my opinion. I’m not saying it’s not worth that price - the problem is when people see a very high price they don’t buy. Many games here, through Patreon subscription, are paid way more, but it’s different. In part because people subscribe to support the creator and encourage him to continue, in part because people are more willing to spend $ 5 per month for 10 months than spending $ 20 all at once, don’t ask me why. Also your game didn’t get much interest, and selling it at a high price will make things even worse.
- Your game reminds me very much of a japanese romance game. This is not a flaw, but I don’t know if it’s exactly what people here want.
- From a fetish point of view Haruka and Shiori are great characters. They eat and gain weight. It’s what people here want. Anyway, your game has a lot of story, so their personalities are important as well, and personality-wise they are not as good. In japanese romance games the girls fall in love near the end of their routes, here they are in love with MC since the very beginning, so there’s little room for story and development. Also they are excessively in love, it is not realistic. Personality-wise, Azuma and Eri are way more interesting.
- I think many people would like to see more scenes where the girls eat.
- I found some inconsistencies in how much the girls eat and in the way their bodies change. Details are important, and in your game they are not always well written in my opinion.
- About the art: 1) Lots of people here dislike AI art. Making a successful game using AI art is a challenge. 2) Adding illustrated scenes instead of just using sprites all the time would be a great improvement. 3) Many sprites are not well done in the belly area - the belly often looks crooked and not well-proportioned (very narrow waist, very wide legs in comparison - common problem both with AI and Daz).

Ngl, i don’t really get the hate for AI art. Good AI art comes out at least as good as good Daz. And bad AI art is definitely better than bad Daz (imo bad Daz is absolutely horrifying).
Regardless, this game is pretty thoroughly curated and massaged AI art. I’d hate for Eisen to have to go through the whole ordeal of finding an AI artist and the artist SIGNIFICANTLY change the art style to the point you can barely recognize the characters.
I understand there’s a lot of ~artists spirit~ on this site. But sometimes that does get in the way of, and put off, a lot of decent prospective devs.

I wasn’t suggesting to make major changes to the game or to the art - that is not possible. And it wasn’t even about my personal tastes. I was just analysing both the flaws and the things that in my opinion are not very liked by the community.
I personally got tired of Daz, I prefer AI. But I’m not like most people here. For that and for many other things.
I wanted to give eisen a feedback about the objective flaws and about what I think people want, not about what I personally want. And I didn’t want to suggest major changes, that is obviously not possible.
eisen is not here to make me or you happy. He is spending his time in the project. He is doing it for the community and/or for the money (which would be absolutely reasonable). He is not doing it for me or you, he doesn’t even know us. And simply telling him what we personally want is not what I call giving him good advice.

@mrtdum_222 First of all, thanks for taking the time to write your opinions!
Since I had already sold it as a one-time purchase on itch, this way those who have already bought it are fine and will continue to receive all the updates, and new users can spend $5 and then if they like it they continue to support. It seems relatively fair to me. Obviously, $20 is intended for the full game that will be in the future and to encourage people to go on patreon instead.
Then again, I am not a business expert, and I am not really trying to make a successful game. When I “advertise” the game in the posts I try to be formal (English is not even my first language) but I am just a fan trying to make a small game in his spare time.
Thanks for all the criticisms, the game is mediocre at best for now. However if you got to the end and had a laugh and it was a bit enjoyable I am satisfied
I hope it shows that I’m mostly having fun making this. As you said, it’s meant to be a Japanese romance visual novel, a collection of stereotypes where I can put everything I like plus wg elements. I’ll try to make the personalities more interesting, but it’s certainly not meant to be the literary work of the century.
Could you explain better what you mean?
Anyway I’m super excited to do Act 4. I’ll try to be quicker to update, if I decide to put another mecha fight scene - that could cost us a few months
(just kidding).

This post just made it click in my head why I particularly like this game. I read a ton of romance manga so the tropes and themes are very familiar and comfortable to me. It’s also pretty tailored to my niche of interests. WG with no monsters or fantasy. I’ll never claim to be the vicar of the broad population of this site, I can only speak to my taste. And your game caters quite perfectly to that.
As somebody who has a near-unhinged hatred of AI art, this is a good juncture to use it at. It’s a situation where either: creative with cool ideas is unable to create vision due to not having the skills/funds to hire an artist; or using AI to fill in the blanks of feasibility.
You definitely managed to skirt some of my biases by having the art good enough that I didn’t even realize it was AI until someone pointed it out here. That definitely embarrasses (and scares) me a little xD but at the end of the day this is a fetish game. The use of AI in a couple spots here of all places shouldn’t have a negative effect on artists as a whole.
Feel free to let me know if you disagree, though.
