If you started playing just a little later, the too-many-lower-tier-items issue would at least be fixed (just pushed an update that allows you to “upgrade” them into higher ones).
I can’t say your other issues with the game don’t have merit. It’s kind of just a simple game I cooked up to practice some skills; some people have told me despite its simplicity it’s their game of the year so it really depends on how much you can get into the spell of Feeding The Snivy.
If we took points away from games for having flaws, there would be no games with a 10/10 rating because there would be at least ONE thing that would bog games down.
Warts and all, this game is 10/10. But maybe we could make it 11/10 with more improvements (like your aforementioned upgrade update).
Yeah, the saves should generally be compatible between versions (btw, on Windows you can find them in %AppData%/snivy/saves) so there shouldn’t be an issue unless I update how the game saves.
…Or the ability to put pokepuffs together into a bundle with a special animation for Snivy eating multiple puffs at once, shoving them into their face with both arms. Would love to see them getting really into stuffing themselves as things pick up.
Honestly, that sounds like a decently fun mod to make if I can figure out how. Still not home from my trip yet, but soon!
Fantastic update! I’m very happy seeing all the new features, and although I haven’t actually fiddled with modding in a custom character yet, the framework for it looks great. I deeply appreciate the amount of documentation you’ve added.
The only bug I noticed was that if you change the color of the UI and then reset it back to default, only the background will actually change back to the standard green- the rest stays whatever color you pick, at least until you close and reopen the game. Aside from that, no notes! Extremely good game all around, and I’m very excited to see what people come up with for the engine.
10/10, would transform small grass snake into beanbag chair again
Cool project, cool to see someone else is using DearImGui and c++. Hows SDL2, i went down the GLFW route? Also interesting to see how you chose to structure the runtime.
It’s SDL3 now and it’s pretty ballin’ to quickly get stuff up multiplatform. Windows, Linux, Web with Emscripten work great. But whatever works for you though.
As said before in the thread I was using Dear ImGui for my animation editor program so this was just kind of a transition into that.
Forgive me if I’m being dense, but I downloaded Anm2Ed from the github page, and the file doesn’t seem to contain any sort of application, it’s just a .zip with some config files and other bits and bobs. Is there something special I need to do to launch the program?
I wanted to say it’s a pretty incredible game. And of course I have subscribed to your patreon for the snivy hype, hoping to see more of it. Ok it was really too good to be real and i can’t wait for more
I agree with some upper post, the mini game to get the snacks is pretty boring but I get that it needs a reward system for the player through hard working farming
You have your own plans, but what did you think of some drooling face for the snivy while you hold the donuts ? Tongue out and salivating
