Realised I’ve just been reading through this the last week or so without commenting, this is looking fantastic so far. I agree with everyone else, the pixel art is phenomenal, especially those fullness stages. Really looking forward to playing this when it comes out.
I have the sprites for the first 3 girls finished up to stage 3 of weight gain with 3 levels of stuffing at each weight stage. They don’t get too fat just yet in the current build but I want to see this as a long term project and rushing to higher weight levels leaves a lot on the table in terms of events and character interactions. Every girl will have a location where you can interact with them. This includes, feeding, inspecting and talking at each weight stage and fullness level. Currently only the first girl has all of this implemented in code, but with the structure generally being done the other two should be quick to follow. The project has been a bit more work than expected and I have expanded the scope of the first release so it may take longer than anticipated. Thus, I will try and complete the first build by next week. That said I think it is shaping up quite nicely. The biggest hurdle right now is getting the balancing and pacing right as for the moment it is either way too quick or just a slog to get through. Additionally the girls seem kind of separate so I want to find a way to get them to interact with each other without creating exponentially more work. The plan to address that is to have them all meet at university and interact there, giving the world a more connected feel.

So for now I’m definitely looking to just have the essentials down so the game works and has a core gameplay loop. Over time I hope to add more content such as events and cgs into the game which would be the first priority after getting the basics down. I have done some animating but only really with smaller sprites so I would try using something like live2d or pixelover rather than hand animating with such complex sprites. That is definitely far in the future though and I would have to see how the reception for the game is first.
damn your organised as heck, but i know better by now to hold my breath in case complications show up for any reasons but this is certainly looking more promising as the days pass so fingers crossed for this one
Things are looking better and better! Is the gym rat girl one of the first 3 girls or will she come later?
Also, you mentioned making the girls interact with each other, will it be like Fattening Career or The Sultan’s Harem where you’re required to advance both girls to get a scene, or will they have different interactions depending on their weight compared to each other?
Are you, by any chance, using AI generation for the creation of the template pictures? I’m a pixel artist myself and some of the pixels seem to be placed too randomly for a human artist at a showcased level of skill. I could be wrong though, and in that case, I’m terribly sorry.
No offense taken from the question, no ai here. For my process I heavily reference real life/drawn images, draw them in clip studio, then index the shadows and light in pixelover (this is the part that gives random lighting as it just pixelates a much more complex digital image) giving me a very easy way to simplify and clean them into pixel art (in aseprite). I also have a few other games and stuff I have worked on in the last few years to hone these skills but I don’t want to mix my real life with my fetish game so you’ll just have to trust me that I put the hours in… I totally understand where you’re coming from as my pixel art skills have definitely outpaced my traditional skills as I have moved to doing it more full time.

Honestly if anyone has ideas that I think would work in the game then I will definitely implement them as I’m pretty fluid with my vision for characters, I have some general archetypes I want to hit but anything goes for now. As long as there’s not too much overlap with other characters I already have I’ll definitely take into account anything enough people want to see.
Well right now the three girls I have full sprites for are the gym rat, the purple one and the one with the red jumper so those will be the main three I will focus on implementing first. I really want to make it unique where you have different interactions for each girl’s relevant weight gain stage so if one is fattened up before the other they will have a unique interaction and vice versa. This will be a decent bit of work but It would be something I really wanna do. So it is in the plans right now, but I haven’t gotten around to it so I will see how much work it is as it will get exponentially more time consuming as i get more characters in. eg 2 girls 3 stages is 3^2 = 9 while 3 girls 3 stages would be 3^3 = 27 unique interactions, assuming there are no 3 person interactions at all (if my math is right…).
Yeah I already had plans for a idol character, I think she would be part of the concert hall location giving other characters a reason to go somewhere on a date.
Some ideas for stuff that would be cool to explore with an idol:
-Stage creaking under her wight
-The harsh lights on stage illuminating every change in her body
-Dance and routine slowing down as she gains weight
-Exposing outfits and outfit malfunctions on stage
-outgrowing her group physically and metaphorically
The purple haired girl is supposed to be a spoilt bratty rich girl, I want to also add in a more refined and regal girl to contrast her to. I’m a big fan of the ojou-sama trope.
Swim suits are hot, and I would like to make a beach scene though that would be a later addition for sure.
as for the other ideas I think they would be cool too but I want to stay away from the high school trappings that a lot of visual novels have so I would try and incorporate these ideas into a university setting which wouldn’t be too hard but no plans yet.

Alsl for the idol girl getting skimpier in terms of her outfits, her manager might punish her for gaining weight and less and less normal photo shoots being available since shes no longer slender so she has to resort to whats avaliable like:
Those really small golden bikinis
Harem belly dancer fit
Cow girl bikini
And turns out they do way better than her original shoots so her manager wants her to put on weight on purpose in her later wg stages?
Also maybe towards the end you can unlock a photo shoot w all the girls and idol girl :>
I feel like the UI as well doesnt get enough praise, most wg game devs get here after a year of stalling but your the only dev ive seen build a game of this quality this fast
