Brain soup back pain anyway here we are!
This month i switched focus and edited/revised another section of content! I might have touched the first section of it before? But i touched it again!
It’s the section of talking between the appetizer and the full dinner where you can talk about Myre’s belly. I went through and rephrased a lot of things, updated the poses, and wrote more words. I expanded a bit in a few places, and added a few places which change a bit depending on Myre’s belly size. Also added a couple places where previous choices get references and tagged a few places where it would be good to add more reactivity.
Overall this amounts to a 500 word increase in the word count, but that doesn’t account for word that I cut to improve the flow. That section should be pretty clean now? Maybe? Hopefully?

- Revised the content of the ‘talk about Myre’s belly’ to add the newest poses and expression. I edited/revise the wording of some things. Wrote some short variations for belly size in a few places.

This month I revised a bit more.
I also did some stuff with sounds. I went though a propagated some of the existing sound effects to more places. in a couple dozen places I’ve added more belly noises, laughs, gulping and crunching sounds. And as before, those can be turned on and off in the settings.
I also moved the code for the little belly pat animation you’ve seen before into a sub scene to make it simpler to call or change. I’ve been reluctant to expand on that because it would mean manually changing details in every location. This makes it easier to adjust and propagate.
THE OTHER cool detail is that I added a few new slap sound effects. Skin against shirt, skin against full belly covered by shirt, and skin against bark skin of full belly. And the purpose of that was to add them to the little belly pat animation. So that exists now!

Though as of today I tightened up the timing of the sound effects so they are better synced with the visuals.

Created a generalized event for playing the previously made belly rub little animation so i don’t just have to copy and paste the same code. I implemented it in a bunch of places where appropriate. ALSO, added the new belly slap sounds to the belly pats animation. Plap plap

This month I edited the belly slap animation from last month to take account for the emotion of the place it’s being referenced.
I also mostly finished up the the post meal discussion about listing what Myre has eaten (unlocked from the [enable] tag). The pasta option was the one holding me up, but i found a cute way to rope it in with the variations. There are a few threads i haven’t written in it yet, but they are edge cases and it’s still a rough draft, so I’ll hit it when i revise it later. There are parts that needs to be expanded on, but that is sort of contingent on me revising the actually main dinner meal things. So I’m just happy to call the listing food convo done for this stage

Added a few variations to the belly slap animation from last month. Basically just bade the emotion match the tone before. So uncomfortable context means she’s making that face when slapping stomach. Aroused? Aroused. Happy? happy.

I’m having a hell of a time yall.
Most recently my mouse just died. DX
But worse, for the past two weeks I’ve been having migraine headaches almost every day. One side of my head will just be pounding in agony for hours. Then it will chill out slowly, but just be there lurking, making me sensitive to light and sound. Also it’s come with neck pain on on side of my neck.
I have a dr appointment on the first about it but FUCK I did not need this.
Hope you all are faring better

Saw a doctor, they said it has probably been tension headaches and I got some meds for that, so hopefully that resolves that nightmare

A WIP gif
Working on belly rubs. Hand will not be 3d in the final version, hence why it’s a WIP
the goal is to have the player get to press some buttons to direct the belly rubbing. Right now it’s just a little animation to make sure everything works and lines up

When you activate the belly rub mode it puts a set of buttons on either side of the screen letting you click to rub the belly up or down and to slap the belly.
I want to add more to this as well. The system is set up that it’s pretty easy to add more.
Now i have to add writing content. As you rub the belly at certain points, Myre will comment. I think next month i will also be greatly expanding on this. At bare minimum i want to be able to slap her belly from other directions. But being able to slightly lift her belly and squish it would be hot.

Hey so it’d been a couple months. Had a spur of random migraines for like a whole ass month and that sucked.
But I am back with not a lot of writing - about 500 words. It’s what is around the writing that’s important here.
Here are a few gifs:
I added 2 new hand positions for Myre (left hand holding middle of belly, and left hand holding lower belly. Only visible for the higher 2 belly sizes because the smaller belly sizes wouldn’t really work without a bunch more work.
That’s just some foundation
The real draw of this month is, if you couldn’t guess from my social media or the month’s update image: Rubbing the belly. You the player get to rub the belly.
The new hands poses allow more places for you and Myre to both touch her belly at the same time.
As you rub her belly she will have some things to comment on. Not a ton, but a lot of work went into making this all work right. I have a bunch of fun stuff planned for next month.

the things that are substantively comments on are:

if you slap her belly enough she will burp (provided you have burp sounds turned on in the settings)

If you put both your hands on Myre’s lower belly there will be a short conversation

The first time you slap Myre’s belly there is a short exchange about carrying her belly
But there is a lot I already have planned that should be pretty quick to implement in the future that I’ll post about it here soon. But in general it’s a bunch of more conversation options and sounds and events related to rubbing her belly. I don’t want to spoil anything yet, but i have some fun stuff in mind!
Changes:
- 44 new images! Misleading - it’s 2 new hand positions for Myre, but they will be useful
- Partial completion of the belly rub after main meal conversation. Lots of TBD dialogue left to do. BUT…
- A lot of work went into making a system for interactive belly rubbing. During the belly rub conversation you have hands. You press buttons to make them do things and sometimes Myre reacts. I created the hands. There is a lot of have planned now that all this is implemented

i simplified my image composite code from around 100 lines to 4. This was extremely frustrating because i still do not know why i needed to write those 100 lines to begin with. None of it makes sense - i’m going to fight john renpy (/s)
anyway pharmacy has not had my adhd meds for 10 days or so and did not come in their shipment today Dx

CVS not having my meds in stock this month has really hurt. I still don’t have them.
BUT despite that, i implemented the ability to press you hands into Myre’s belly when rubbing her belly. (currently if you try this with belly size below the max, it will give an error because those graphics haven’t been added yet). Previous post has a gif example
You can squish her belly from any of the positions. You can do it one hand or a time or both at the same time. It took a bunch of effort to get the squish lines looking okay because i did it myself =D
But also I spent a lot of time fiddling with the back end to get this to work. It was sort of a chain of “to do this i need to fix this, but to fix this i need to fix that, and to fix that…”. In the end i had to rewrite some of the code i use to composite images. I wont go into the details - just i had to rewrite code in the background. The good news is that i really simplified that portion of the code so future changes are easier.
Changes:
- Implemented the ability to squish Myre’s belly with either or both hand during the belly play event. To get this to work visually required some behind the scenes work to change how i composite the Myre images. Currently it will only work with the max belly size. You’ll likely get an error if you try to do it with the other sizes.
