There is a common sentiment that excessive text in a WG visual novel is bad. While that can be true with a poor writer, I think this idea is fundamentally wrong. Sure, I could write scenes that basically look like this:
“I’m so hungy~”
“yeah bitch get fatter”
But there is only so much you can squeeze out of these kinds of interactions. How many times can you read something like that before you start thinking, “This is boring. I’ve seen this a thousand times”? Don’t you want any flavor? Don’t you want every interaction to feel different? Don’t you want the girl to feel like a real person you can actually find in real life to corrupt with your fetish? Because usually girls don’t act like ever-horny dolls that instantly get wet when they eat a burger. Galina and Valeria are not even feedees! Galina has been battling with an ED for several years, and Kirill embracing it and allowing her to eat as much as she wants allows her to finally indulge and stop caring about her weight. Lera is a former athlete, a very strong necromage, but a combination of diet sabotage and her almost unhealthy affection to Kirill rewires her brain into becoming a glutton for her lover. All of this needs establishing, all of this makes the experience with dating them unique. When a character is as plain as a board, you really can’t write anything but generic dialogues. But with Lera and Galina, even though they are both still not finished, I’ve managed to write almost a book worth of content. There is “useless yapping”, sure, but it just makes the awaited fetish scenes more rewarding. Am I wrong for thinking this?
By the way, yeah, I’m announcing the release of 1.3 in around two weeks. No strict deadlines, I can never develop updates before them, but right now I’m kind of feeling we are getting close to the end.
I think this sentiment is shared by a loud minority. People are often seeking sexual gratification out of a fetish game; it is the point, generally. But I think anyone going into a visual novel looking for minimal text would be better served looking elsewhere. There’s something to say about stuff that is written poorly or needlessly complex, but I feel the way this is often mentioned is just by people that don’t really like VN’s and want quick porn content. There are so many other avenues available for that within the fetish space let alone things that are not adult/fetish games. The thing that makes me stay around for a good AVN other than fetish content is the characters, story, and worldbuilding. Of course, the fetish content needs to be there but It’s more enjoyable to me when the characters, or story have an impact and are not one dimensional.
I think Fatgeria has the perfect amount of dialogue as it is mainly a visual novel.
If it were attempting to be say an arcade game or platformer, I could see the amount of prose excessive, but the amount of writing in the game seems entirely appropriate to me.
It’s also important to remember how attached everyone here is to these characters. You don’t get this level of investment and fervor without a healthy dose of writing backing it.
Some of my favorite weight game games on the site have very shallow writing, and I love them for their mechanics or other reasons. But I’m only thinking about them in the moment I’m playing them.
Fatgeria isn’t my favorite game necessarily when it comes to combat (it has grown on me admittedly, but it isn’t what I play the game for), but it’s one of maybe 2 or 3 games I’ve played on the site that I find intrusively (in a good way) enters my might when I’m not playing it. I find Galina’s internal struggles endearing and Lera’s oddities captivating. And this isn’t even touching the rest of the cast.
I haven’t played a game on this site with the level of pathos in Fatgeria, and that is imo only possible with the amount and quality of writing in it.
I pretty much think the same and that’s why i like games such as Axugaem and Some bullshit, because they care about making a game beyond just fetish content and something i myself want to achieve is to create a game that has a good story and gameplay but also have good content. I don’t say that if people like only the fetish content is bad, but having a game that can also provide to the player a good story to inmerse yourself. characters that you can either identify with them or care and give a logical and reasonable explanation as to why the characters are doing or are capable of that kind of stuff is much more enjoyable than just pressing a button and make a character fatter and full horny comments.
I haven’t played too much your game, only a few parts (and what one of my friends has told me about it) but is clear as crystal that this is more than just a VN. This is a good game.
well i enjoyed all the text of the game up to the point that i want to read the book, also i bought the steam game to play it cuz the story seems to be interesting, so i think your game is great, obviously theres alway a guy or two that just want easy fat or sexual content and there are many games for that so you just keep your hard work they will have their easy content in other games.
Also the detective plot seems interesting but im thinking that day time its not gonna be enough, and in the future you might add some content with the detective kinda loosening her her belly like
-hey you dont look fat
-are you sure? watch this.
and also add in a future some interactions with the princess depending on your actions or an npc that looks like “im watching you”
It’s not too much, but still hurts. But sure, nothing some subs can’t fix. It’s just that I invest a lot of earnings back into the game, so I’m not that well-off from it.

So, I’m coming in with some amazing news… 1.3 update has… fucking… 60+ new CGs. That’s literally more than double the game had at the release. Double than in 1.2. I wanted to decrease the scope of the update but couldn’t. The amount of text is bigger than it was in 1.2 by around 20%. And there will be a whole new mini-game, where you will be able to feed (stuff), touch and grope Lera, complete with a voiceover, too. It has… 16 CGs. This mini-game will be recurring for every girl (notably Milana who is coming in 1.4 and will have it from stage 1, not 5 like Lera or 4 like Galina)
