Alright guys, progress update for you guys who aren’t in the discord, we’re making pretty good progress! The maps have been, for the most part, completed, and just need events placed about, in addition to a couple of mechanics and additional pokemon, and balancing changes that will be added in order to further soften grinding.
Additionally, there is a small bit of canonical lore to be posted here, in the official forum:
It is canon in this version of the pokemon universe that the sprites you see in game are just a representation of the “type specimen” of each pokemon species. In actuality, most pokemon have diverse phenotypes that just aren’t visible to the player
This is kind of implied in regular pokemon but never mentioned for merch purposes
So essentially, not all goodra look exactly like the goodra sprite or the shiny. Their colors can vary in shade to a degree, the shape of the antennae and length may be slightly different, of course fat distribution varies greatly from individual to individual, etc.
This is important for the following contest.
CONTEST INFORMATION
A delightful feature, credit for which going to our favorite goblin coder on the discord, has been added to the game: Extended dex entries. These allow additional lore to be shared about pokemon beyond the extremely short provided dex entries.
As a result of this, there’s now a whole new page in the pokedex, which, for most pokemon at this point, is completely blank! In order to fill out this extended dex, I’ve decided to host a competition for extended dex entries.
What this entails, is writing dex entries for existing pokemon that contain headcanons or lore from deviantart, in creative and interesting ways. Ideally, you should follow the format outlined here, however, any format is permitted, it’s more about the quality of your writing than any particular adherence to any expectation. Get as creative as you like!
As for prizes, All dex entries submitted, unless I was planning to make one myself for the pokemon submitted for, will be included in the game. Top placers will get the following rewards:
1st place: A “Mystery Gift” pokemon of your choice, customized with unique moves, name, or ability if you so choose, and an entirely unique sprite with any variations to the design of the pokemon you like (See above information for details about what this means - basically you get an OC of any pokemon species) that can be obtained by players via a code. Get your custom partner pokemon or any glutgan poke-oc as a mystery gift!
2nd-5th place: A custom mystery gift pokemon, which can be obtained by players via a code. Can have unique moves, ability, name, etc.
All other placers: A nice warm feeling, and inclusion of your submission in the game, with credit given of course.
How to submit: In order to submit, COMMENT on this document with either your entry, a link to download a pdf of your entry, or a link to a google doc with your entry on it. If you have issues with that, you can also just submit it here on this forum or on the discord, as long as I get to see it honestly.
Each person may submit as many entries as they want. Each entry will be considered for a winning spot, however, only one from each individual person will be listed on the podium.
Contest ends, at latest, when the Gain Jam starts, at earliest, whenever I feel like it. Lmk if “Whenever I feel like it” happens to come before a planned submission to the contest, late submissions welcome and encouraged if you got one, just let me know so I can delay judging.

Where do I find the second Gym Leader? Unless the second one is the ice gym leader, if not I’m lost someone help please

The second Gym Leader is located in the first Pokemon Center, which is on Route 1.

Hey everybody!!! There’s a new major update to this game, which includes a ton of new content, including two more gym leaders, a ton more pokemon, some small sidequests, including one which will allow you to meet with the elusive corrupted ultrabeasts, availability for a lot of evolution items that were sorely missing from previous updates, easier leveling curves, actual progression with badges, and more! Redownload the game (Your saves will carry over automatically) to see what new stuff is around!
Additionally, when it comes to the easier leveling curves thing, a few early game gyms and trainers had their levels lowered in addition to just including more candies etc, and by early game I mean up until and including shoresville. If you’ve been stuck somewhere, give it another try, you should have a much easier time.
