Thanks. I added the Patreon link to the OP a bit ago if anyone wants to support that way. It’s mainly just donating for the game, although I have started trying to do monthly suggestion art on there too as some kind of extra bonus.
My game is not entirely all my work, like lately I’ve had help with tilesets and sprites this year, and there’s some fan CGs in places too. Also all the music and sound effects are from different sources. But otherwise yeah, the general vision is my own.
I’ve been working on the R&D substory this month. I don’t know if I’ll finish it by end of November at this rate, but should be definitely by December. It’s at least been giving me time to brainstorm more of how the third substory and closing scenes will go. In my opinion I’ve made one of the hottest scenes in the game so far (if you care about inflation stuff) with an 8 frames sprite sequence along with a CG to go with it.

Peak, I loved this substory so much. It was for sure worth waiting for, my favorite part (apart from the obvious) was the Yakuza dynamic intro reference, was not expecting it and got a good laugh out of me. I have a couple questions though,
What made you consider turning Ziya red instead of the classic blue or violet?
Is there a possibility of maybe for the post-episode update adding a classic color variant for the scene? Or possibly as a choice when you do the substory?
And finally, is there a possibility of more berry-related shenanigans in the future now that Ziya is like this or potentially involving other characters? (Like Charu (I had to ask, I’m legally obligated))
Nonetheless, love your work (and art!) on Abugida! Now to wait patiently for the episode finale, I’m only getting more invested with the story each time I play, keep chugging Chuga!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really love inflation stuff as much as, if not more, than weight gain stuff. The fetish scene in this substory is probably the hottest scene in the game for me right now; it’s pretty hard for me to find my own scenes hot. I thought the bloated Thymi in her room stuff in Ep6 was pretty hot too. I want to try animating more sprites in the future since I think that plus the sound effects really adds to it.
Story reason: Ziya’s DNA combining with the Oobloom bud is not the same way the Hungerdome pirates used it on Charu in the bad ending. Real reason: I tried blue at first, but I didn’t think it looked that good so I went with red instead.
I already have a post-episode bonus in mind involving what’s happening back on Graq the cyclops planet. There are half finished blue berry sprites in the img folder for Ziya but I wasn’t planning on doing a blue variant scene right now.
There will be more berry-related shenanigans.
I’ll be honest, I had you pegged as the opposite considering earlier things you said closer to when you started this project and my initial impression of Abugida. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, my apologies.
You are a godsend (for me, at the very least).
I also wanted to ask if I may, I imagine you have lots of other ideas and plans for the game and its plot, but I’m really curious about how long you plan to make the game? I (and probably many others) would love to see it continue for as long as possible, but I’ve been wondering for a while now if you already have an idea of how it’ll all end, and how many more episodes you think you’ll do. (mere curiosity, don’t take it as me asking what exactly you have planned, just what your thoughts are for the future of this game)
I’m pretty sure I liked inflation first which I know I definitely found hot when I saw the Willy Wonka remake in theaters, and then later on in the 2010s I thought weight gain can be good too. I vaguely recall reading inflation/expansion fiction in the late 2000s. I did not follow weight gain fetish art until 2012 maybe late 2011, but even still it’s always been a mix for me since then.
This is why very quickly in my game a guy with a giant P on his head is running around inflating people. I mean, I think it’s cool. A lot of games here do vore, but I can be the inflation guy instead since I don’t care about vore. I actually can’t remember ever caring about burping either, but after 2020 certain games here have made me think it’s hotter than I previous thought. It’s also easy to add sounds for and I enjoy drawing self-indulgent burp faces, turns out tongues are fun to draw.

Or lose interest. I doubt I’ll lose interest though considering all of my creative output goes into my game. So I’d have to lose all spirit for that to happen.
I shouldn’t say whether I have an ending in mind. I don’t know what the episode count will be. I think at some point I will package everything so far as “Season 1” and create a new project file that is more organized. Also maybe with a later version of RPGM, such as MZ or something. This will also keep the file size down in case it starts to get too large. I don’t know when I would make this season split though.

Even though I’m not into inflation like, at all, this was one of the scenes in the game i’d consider to be “really good”, looking forward to my favorite girl in the prison next time….
Thanks, I love a good blue/violet. Can never go wrong (like vanilla, which is my favorite flavor as well). I got curious and tried doing some editing on the sprites/faces as well, wanted to see what it’d be like if there was a color variation for the substory. Tell me if you’d prefer I rather not mess with the game, it is your game so I wouldn’t want to do something that you think is rude. Here’s a couple examples of what I’ve attempted:
Editing the faces was way harder than I expected, not only because I noticed how much detail really went into them, but also because I still had no idea what I was doing and was going pixel-by-pixel. Working on this made me realize though, I can berry-up any of the other characters in their CGs as well…
I once again return with another edit! I think Ange may be regretting trying that new berry parfait from the maid cafe…

I’m going to push back the release schedule a bit. Instead of just the prison substory I decided I’m going to finish the rest of Ep8 for the next update. I think smaller mini-releases isn’t as good as a full episode release, however what I wanted to do for Ep8 made it really long and I didn’t want there to be nothing for like 8 months.
So the next release will have the prison substory + the ending and wrap up Ep8.
Future road map will be something like this:
- Ep8 complete - February/March 2026
- Ep9 complete - Summer 2026
- Ep10 complete - End of 2026
Next, the Veska sprite is very old. I haven’t touched it since the first release (not counting her gym outfit in Ep5), so I’ve been working on improving her sprite so it’s less off model. This will put her more in line with the rest of the Ep1 characters, which I have already made improvements to over time. This feels important, given she is a very important character and should be treated better!

I feel I made pretty good progress in 2025. I finished Ep6. I finished Ep7. I didn’t finish Ep8, but it’s a really big episode. I think my sprite work has been improving a lot, just compare older characters with newer ones. We’ll see how 2026 goes now.

I was inspired by these two stories from this episode, and decided to make fan art/edit comic ?!? Most of it is modified assets from the game (except for the hose). It was my first time doing something like that and I had a lot of fun making it, so yeah… Enjoy!

Episode 8 - The Tivallon Complex - Complete
Episode 8 is finally finished!
Synopsis
The UG Rhea finally arrives at the end of Federation space for their mission, to the largest man-made object in the known universe: The Tivallon Complex! Running the Complex is the coldhearted, but also fiery Admiral Barrenfield, who doesn’t plan on letting them leave until they shed some pounds! How will their space adventure unfold during this layover? Meet new (and old) colorful characters in this slightly harrowing episode of The Abugida Effect! In addition, includes three substories that focus more specifically on certain things which includes: Iron Apron, The Bud, and High-Low.
Changelog
-All new sprites for Veska.
-Added more to the Tivallon Complex, including the B1 and B2 floors and some posters throughout the place.
-Added third substory: High-Low.
-Added ending for Episode 8, go to the 2nd Floor after finishing all three substories and talk to Cindy to start it.

Probably about 70-90 minutes of new stuff.
Saves should be compatible, if someone is having trouble I can upload a save that is up to the third substory. The ending flag should trigger after completing all three substories and going to the second floor.
If you haven’t played before this is probably a good spot to try it out.

Post-Commentary
Okay, that’s enough of Episode 8. I wanted to try substories in a hub area for this episode which was clearly too ambitious and time-consuming unless you want to wait 2/3rd of a year between updates. I didn’t like releasing a partially finished episode either, but it’s difficult to have nothing to show for so long that’s why I broke it up into pieces. I’m going to try to keep episodes down to 1 hour max in the future which means I’m probably not doing substories in this fashion again.
Just finished my playthrough, absolutely loved this update! The stuffing and especially the fat scenes were top tier! And I’m still cracking up over the final test scene, how on earth you somehow made that work baffles me it was simply amazing
