The Wizardry College v0.7 - A management game (12/29/25 Quick Poll!)

100% Very nice game design solution! I still don’t think the game is properly balanced, BUT now it is fun to play, and it adds plenty to replayability, which is also great, with even more possibilities, to freshen gameplay with peculiar game-changing modifiers. It appears that many of the game’s problems were addressed with one strike.

lol because I dont want to be attacked by neanderthals

I have a question. I keep reading things regarding the chief priestess, and I have tried for a bit now to get something to change regarding her but the most I got has been being told she is visibly getting fatter and that I should do more. Is there something I am missing? I’ve tried praying, bribing out the absolute ass and also trying to reduce the praying to be thin as much as possible but nothing is working. Any advice or hints on where to look?

Well, there isnt much story with the chief priestess for now – right now she functions as the last boss in some endings, but thats it!

Ah! Because so far I’ve gotten the win for paying off debts, but now that I am looking to see every other ending and dialogue I’ve found myself stuck at always losing. I can’t see max sizes of dialogue because the priestesses stomp down, so I try to deal with them but end up losing money.

Defeating the C. Priestess is kinda hard, but now with the new update after reaching an ending you gain gold for buying upgrades before starting the game, by using those wisely (some hurt you if you don’t plan it).
CP fight is much harder than the dragons fights, so you need a balance between happy students, smart students and not going bust while trying to do it.

How does one consistently get to fighting the Chief Priestess anyway? It’s very hard to get your opinion down to 0 while also keeping your happiness above 100 because the theologians start forcing the students to exercise so much when your opinion is low. I can do it once, but it seems like replacing the priestess only once doesn’t give you an ending. Every time I’ve tried to do it a second time, I either ran out of time and got the normal debt ending, or I sent myself into a spiral of obesity cost and went bankrupt.

One method I’ve used that’s somewhat effective is to start breaking traditions after getting my opinion towards the lower end while happiness and IQ are high enough to fight against the priestess. This helps plummet opinion to 0 real fast before you see the negative effects of low opinion hit for prolonged times

i aim not to fight her till the 96 month when you paid off all debt, if you fight before I don’t think it’s worth it.

I just started my first playthrough and am having trouble figuring everything out. Could someone give me some general tips to make the game easier for me? Like what should I focus on to make the most money, get people fat etc.

I also have a question. At any point is there going to be choices for weight gain to effect your own character? Since I feel that would also help greatly affect what students will do if you end up also getting fat quickly.

General tips:

  • all decisions cost money (500), some also add costs per month or have a higher cost
  • the fatter the students the higher maintenance cost you have.
  • balance is key
  • students divide their time between eating, studying and losing weight at the gym
  • you gain money base on food sold and snacks when they eat
  • you gain money base on gym price and snacks at the gym when they try to lose weight
  • normal classes cost money per month
  • debt payments become higher the closer you are to the end of the 96 month
  • the more you try to do something the less reward you get from doing more of it.
  • after losing you gain upgrade points to help you have an edge at the start, but the rules of the game are the same
  • Traditions cost reputation to abolish and can’t be reversed.
  • if you sell any facility you only receive half it revenue
  • snacks at the gym are always yours even if you sold it
  • you can gain reputation by praying
  • you can ‘hear’ the students praying to see what they ‘want’ (aka how corrupted)
  • if you ‘promote’ a thing from the students praying menu it cost a ton, but gives you reputation
  • winning battles gives you money and reputation, losing them cost you reputation and even money
  • With the new update it’s more of a rogue like, so ‘losing’ is not a problem, you start with more upgrades next run base on all previous ones
  • upgrades RESET each run, you get all points back so use them

@viewless_greedy You are giving better tips than I could!

@Lost-Gambit Good question. I was thinking about this, but I couldn’t yet think of a good mechanic to make that part of the game. Do you have any suggestion?

A question that will help with future design. What weight in game can you reach after your best try? If you can get to above 300 kg, please leave a comment and tell me how!!!

  • 50-100 kg
  • 100-160 kg
  • 160-220 kg
  • 220-300 kg
  • 300+

Hrm. I’d say make use of visiting the cafeteria and the gym. Since from my playing of it the students that pop up here and they very much respect you. So including options to eat and such could work to make the students essentially think “If my principal is 300lbs, then that is okay right?”

There is also the idea of the corporation using you as a means of advertisement. Sign away yourself so you become a spokesperson for them via being stuffed to the gills and such.
Same way for any cult stuff.

I had a weird run with the NG+ options (mostly double gym, double snacks, 50 elevators, and a few base food upgrades). Around month 40, the weight spiralled out of control. The income was somehow able to keep up for a while but it still ended in a bankruptcy at month 67 and 2300kg. The starting students and faculty ended up being nearly 10 thousand tonnes each.

I forgot to buy the weight tracking upgrade to see what was contributing the most. I think it was the base food upgrade since I hadn’t invested multiple levels into it before.

Other random thoughts:
I noticed in these newer versions that you end up with a smaller student population and sometimes don’t even unlock all four body part fetishes. Adding more events to the pool means the transfer princess and beauty pageant events happen less often.

Combat strength is very difficult to manage once the NG+ upgrades get involved. Studying will end up at 0% unless you carefully balance a very low opinion. This makes the month 96 fight harder to clear than a regular NG game.

Hahaha this is funny. I was partially aware of this. It is partially a balance problem and partially a numerical problem.

This should be fixed in the next version.
