After quite some time spent developing this, I am happy to announce Wider Taste!

In this story, you, the character, got kicked out by your parents and have suddenly decided to act on your “wider taste” in girls.

More will come soon!

I’d be happy to hear your suggestions and what you’d like to see in future updates!

There were some issues that affected progress and development, nevertheless it is here!

Note : This update’s save compatibility is not yet functional.

New features :

Dreams : Now when you go to sleep, there is a chance you will have a random dream.

More dreams unlock as you progress through the game. There are currently 4 dreams.

Follow Sable on her journey to take revenge. Is magic real? Or is it all just very convenient accidents?

It’s an interesting start- a querstion of mine is there gona be protag-wg and if is gona be is gona be a option to chose the gender of the protag? (sorry my inglish, not my strong lenguague)

I dig the low fidelity style you’ve decided on, the humor (how did you get a sample of my actual handwriting!?!), and the (occasionally subtle) movements / shifts in the images and screens. Keeps things feeling more dynamic and game-like than most RenPy projects. Excited to see more!

Petty gripes? Bearing in mind that I really liked what you’ve got already? Sarah’s name remains “???” after she introduces herself during the intro, which only stands out since your boss’s name card gets fixed as soon as he gives his name. If you can make it work, having the angle of the sunlight coming into the apartment bedroom change between Morning/Afternoon/Evening would be cool. (The jump from stranger to feedee with Sarah feels pretty brash, but it’s within the “Start of the game premise setting window” so you can probably get away with it - the player’s still in the “What are we doing here?” phase, so it’s not quite a felt break from reality since the terms of the game’s reality are still being set.)

Your call, obviously, but packaging your *.rpa files and eliminating the plain-text versions might lead to less thorough bug reporting going forward. I’ve seen folk on here go into code to identify why a weird thing happens to them - part playtesters, part bug hunters - and locking everyone out of the codebase means that’s not ever going to come up for you. (My ulterior motive is that I want to see how you handled the main menu shifting and if the character movements work the same way I would have done them.)

Unfortunately that matter has not been decided yet.

I want to explore that option in the future. Though the systems in the Ren’Py engine might make it hard to add that

Thank you for reporting it. I fixed it in the hotfix.

As for the story, it is rather barebones. The goal for the next update is to make changes to the intro so it gets more fleshed out and introduces a new character.

So far I like the concept, and the art is cool.

Requests:

A reason to go to bed (like being tired the next day)
a coworker (maybe you can recruit them?)
week schedule system for who’s available when
potential romance system to immersively invite people to your house
work minigame (does not need to be big or complicated)

You don’t need to add all of this. I personally think these can help break up the 3-4 button loop.

Actually, work minigame could be about trying to get people to buy more food, and I imagine a similar minigame could be used for feeding the FLs.

love the game. Played it when you released it and I think you should focus on 3 characters for now. Sarah as the main. A coworker that you progressively are feeding and a side character. But this is a good game and you def know what is up for these type of games. Keep up the good work

Okay so the art is good and mechanics work well as I only had one bug but beside that the game run good this is a great start for a game but it need some more stuff like more events so it add some spice to the game loop because the game feels slow as you are waiting for the next weight gain stage.

Seems like I forgot to reply to some stuff here,

The barista is actually a test of these events. You’ll be seeing her randomly. And more events will be implemented in the future. As for the bugs, what bug exactly?

I am not a fan of spamming the work button myself. I am working on replacing working with a minigame. It would make the player more money and of course be more enjoyable. But the matter of its design is a whole different world and I haven’t decided on what to pursue. Especially since I had originally planned multiple jobs and promotions. Which would make balancing a lot harder. And as for the coworker, she is there in the updated intro. And will receive content in the future!

I’ll be happy to hear everyone’s thoughts on the new update and which direction to go next.

So about the bug, sorry I forgot to screen shot it when I saw it because sometime playing a Renpy game something will not load right and you just have to reload and it fix the problem sorry.

Fun so far. Not much to comment on at the moment but I like the teases at different storylines currently present. I would definitely like an “end of content” message once you reach a girl’s final stage though.

As for the bugs, there were quite a few occasions with the Barrister when renpy would throw an error screen, but just hitting ignore would let the game continue so I forgot to take any screenshots. Her final stage did stop appearing though, might be related to the same error.

As for other bugs though I’d be happy to hear from everyone what exact bugs they encountered so I can work on fixing them.

Maybe the picture is actually named shy.png, in lowercase?

Bug 3: There aren’t stuffed sprites for some weight levels, so characters appear to get skinnier when stuffed.

Bug 4: When Sarah gets big enough for the pink-and-gray outfit, she moves up a few hundred pixels, so she looks like she’s floating.
