Woo!! Been waiting for this. Canāt wait to give it a go congrats in getting act 1 out!
Was short, but I enjoyed it overall! I think itās definitely improved over the original demo, especially with how the characters feel more interconnected. And I enjoy how Sam the protagonists motivations are better established, and how the story eases into meeting the girls in a natural feeling way. A critique would be the pacing seemed a bit fast, I hadnāt even realized weeks had paced in game, by the time the mocktail party started I thought the characters had only known each other for a few days, and was surprised when the protagonist decided that he was now romantically interested in one of the characters. I would suggest just adding a few more scenes, nothing too long that the game would feel bloated, but a few more interactions would help establish that the girls and the protagonist have gotten to know each other, an example that comes to mind is perhaps write out the shopping trip with Mitsura and Hannah. For me, I can see that Joshua has potential to be either an antagonist or perhaps an unexpected friend. I like his writing, though the interactions with him as of right now feel inconsequential. He says something, the protagonist thinks heās annoying, then before really getting into an argument or a proper exchange of ideas Joshua leaves without any conflict. I think him and the protagonist butting heads can be very interesting, conflict is what makes a story engaging afterall.
Overall, looking forward to future developments and congratulations once again on getting a new demo out!
I probably expected a little bit more content after 3 years of development, following the first demo, which looked great at this time and gave a big promise.
For now, it is a setting and character introduction with around 3 minutes of gameplay, plus 1 minute to explore different charactersā branches. Nice work overall, however, the quality of art/writing is not far from what AI is currently capable of. So you probably should either use modern tools to speed up the development or take your time and focus on quality.
I find that quite insulting. I found the art to be nice, and the writing had some charm to it. And I can see a lot more heart here from the creator that meaningless AI content could never replicate.
You must be using the skip function if you got through it in 4 minutes ahaha.
Its understandable the artstyle is a bit inconsistent, and thereās tweaks that could be made like Hannahs face, or Mitsuruās hips, but we try our best as a team of volunteers to put out the best VN we can.
Thats the main reasons its taken so long, weāre a team of around 20 or so doing it for free for fun, releasing it for free and for fun.
No, weāre not going to be using AI. For several reasons, including the controversy surrounding it.
Wait what? Team of 20? Meaning like there is around 20 person working with this?
But anyway, Itās a good start. The pacing was too fast and I would definitely appreciate some sort of clear indication how much time has passed between scenes (like a date displayed etc).
Overall I see potential in this and Joshua guy could introduce some nice plot twist or something later.
