Adorant Adipose is now up on itch for in-browser play

Adorant Adipose is a branching, fixed run text narrative about a woman who thinks she may have figured out how to finally impress the lady of her dreams. (Hint : It involves gaining weight.)

With over twenty endings at roughly half an hour per playthrough, it’s designed for either single session pick-up play or meta-progression long haul grinding.

Runs in browser, through Itch . io, using Twine. Being all art and no text, this entry is free of any genAI.

Many thanks to Bad Idea for volunteering to do so much editing and play testing. I couldn’t have done it without them… and if I had tried to, it would have been a much worse entry.

Content Warnings : Weight gain, obviously. Most of my characters can be jerks, contextually, but some are straight up monsters, and that’s true in this game. Some of those twenty plus endings are very dark. There are elements of domestic abuse, self judgement, and body judgement.

Authorial Intent (Wherein I ramble about what I'm trying to accomplish)

I wanted to put together a game that plays something like my earlier entry “A Unique Diet”, but which doesn’t suffer the same degree of repetition between playthroughs. I wanted to start a game with an opening very similar to Unstable Frienemies, but explore other ways it could have played out with different primary characters. I wanted to explore dramatic irony, whether a character the player disagrees with or can’t see eye to eye with is still able to elicit an emotional connection, and how fairly small modifications in behavior at particular moments in time might have serious, lasting consequences.

I also wanted to put out a game that didn’t use any genAI. I’ve done it before (Fat Focused), but it’s good to remind myself that I’m using stable diffusion as a tool and not a crutch.

I’ve never written in Twine before, and it was a language/parser I’ve wanted to poke my nose into.

And, finally, I wanted to do something in a collaborative space. Thank you again Bad Idea for all the work you put into helping me make this - it’d be a vastly inferior game without your insights.
