I’m torn because L really needs content the most out of all the Apostles, and I’m not sure whether or not waiting would be the best thing for her. Having a dedicated update could work wonders for her character (and give us some cool sexy times), but I feel like the longer she goes without character development the less that people will be willing to go onboard with it. There are already some people here that have L written off and it will be difficult to fully change there minds. Ultimately, I would do a Gretel update but foreshadow something important about the L update, maybe by having her try something lewd and have Gretel shut her down, setting up L for self reflection.

TL;DR: Gretel update please.

Been trying to go around and find more rpg maker games with this type of thing, but does this one have any weight gain related sprites for the characters or status effects?

Yes, there are unique sprites used in Apostles, and quite a few at that, but do be aware that it is not a typical JRPG. It is a slow-paced, story focused experience, and it will take a little while before you actually see any. The wait is definitely worth it.

Hi there! I’m really regretting not giving a chance to this game earlier, the writing, the characters, the whole shebang is absolutely marvelous! But I’ve reached an impasse, not a bug or anything, I think it is just a technical problem in my end.

I’ll spoiler it, because I’ve advanced quite a bit: During Heather’s tests with Sebastian, one of the tests is shooting some clay birds with the bow, the things is that my laptop is abit old so the flying animations are so erratic that it is downright impossible to click on them at the right time and I seem to be stuck in the shooting area.

Any help is appreciated, I have some older save files but I wouldn’t want to go through all the story again.

Sorry about the problem that stopped you. It’s always my fear that certain minigames might make the game impossible.

It’s sort of a repeating joke that Sebastian has Heather shooting birds. Can you clarify which map this is for? (Sand, ice, luxury room.) Or send me a screencap.

The one I’m stuck at is the desert one. Again I’m pretty sure is just a hardware problem, my laptop is pretty old and the game is a bit laggy on it.

Even then, thanks for the reply, I’ll keep trying and see if I can get past that, of not I’ll just reload an older save.

To brute force that section, I would try spamming space bar as many times as you can. Even with lag it could eventually let you pass.

Otherwise I will get to work on a fix for that and have it ready in the next day or so. Sorrry again for the issue! Even with old hardware I want the game to be for everyone.

E44: The moral grey mindset on might makes right argument is really interesting here. Though we IRL are in a mostly docile world right now, it got this way with the laws enacted by others due to some parties possessing more strength to make those changes, since prior past events describe the world as vindictive and uber violent. Revolution happens and better rules are put in place, but people historically still died to make it happen. I mean, we even have “weapons of mass destruction” currently in world now as preventative measures, so it’s cool to see someone from the party explain their philosophy is a real way. Sure, I like the Apostles for very kinky reasons personally, but the point where strong enough makes you in power is accurate. These aren’t “good” people with a unrealistic moral code, like the flawed Superman architype. On the terms of how each Apostle of the team got and controls their power is more akin to reality. They what they do in the way that they do it since it is more sensible to be cooperative then combative for achieving sin energy. If the participants are willing to be more collaborative, it makes for a longer food-source. I also could think there could be far worse fates for the dangerous people who became servants. The contingency for their imprisonment is lack clarity if the current re-habilitation would work right? When I say rehabilitation, I don’t simply mean being emotionally twisted by guilt to atone and make nice either. But reform in the way of internal change for external progress. I mean Sebs and L can’t give all of them Stockholm, right? Maybe in time they could even be taught to sift and pan through their more baser, selfish desires/interactions with others in favor of collaboration…via the dreams?? If they had ways to support their basic needs, it could work. But without a way to do this, I see Sebastian’s logic. Especially since not all people are wired the same and don’t possess the same sort of brain structures capable of emotional empathy. But maybe over time, at least learned empathy/logical empathy could replace their more detrimental drives, at least for the sake of thriving over just surviving. Not sure how the Apostles would concoct different outlets for the more dangerous people to exercise lesser, unsavory, behaviors safely, because some may need it. I dunno, just a ramble lol.

E1: I’m quite pleasantly surprised how many people enjoyed Penny’s section at the start of the update! I didn’t expect it at all, but welcome it! As for marrying her…how do you feel about bugs?

E4: Okay, so this is a personal pet peeve. But I actually HAAAAAATE when games force the player into a slowed down walk speed. I understand that it makes sense for fatter characters to get slow, but it drives me nuts to be stuck on slow mode for any longer then 30 seconds. So most characters will be staying on normal speed, despite weight gains.

E5: I’ll be honest I don’t recall what this is in reference to, but Ass surveillance does sound very Sebastian like.

If Sebastian forced sex on Heather without any ‘free-will’ choice of her own, then it really would undercut any of his supposed morals. In Heather’s case, I wanted her to keep some of her agency despite her prison.

Something to think about as we go into a Gretel update is that the Apostles all like fattening people up, even the fake ones. Seeing as Cynthia liked feeding things, there is an obvious connection there. Since Gretel is the current Apostle of Gluttony… whoo boy, there’s definitely going to be a lot of baggage to unpack there.

P.S. Gretel hasn’t fattened Violet… yet.

I noticed something… peculiar (don’t know of this has been noticed yet) while i was replying that lastest update i noticed that Gretel went down four levels passing from being level 99 to 95. Does that means that the trauma of Gretel is slowly losing power? Is she managing to solve it and so she’s getting less powerful?

Since the next update is coming Soon™, I decided to share a theory I thought of the other day. I believe that Cynthia attempted to make herself an Apostle of Gluttony before she made other Apostles. She has the ability to create addictive food and enjoys feeding others. Plus, there’s the fact that during Sebastion’s flashback, we learned that she had vertigo far younger than she should have and described herself as “cursed”. There are drawbacks to not acting on the impulses of the Apostle powers, and her vertigo only acted up when she first arrived and when she was done with Sebastion, but not when she was feeding Mrs. Piggy Puppers Kuppers.

Something probably went wrong with it, which is why she needed to empower others. As for why she would have chosen gluttony (if she didn’t choose everything), by applying porn physics we can assume that there isn’t an upper limit to how gluttonous that someone can be. Cynthia would have probably been able to do more with it if she wasn’t so impatient.

Hopefully last Progress Report for Apostles 0.10

I’ve decided to make next update the Gretel update (with some Sebas too!) It should be out to the public before the end of July. It might be slightly smaller then average, but it should hopefully still be worth the wait as we’ll see an update from most everyone in Auburnwoods, and new information about the wider world.

After the Apostles update is done, I’ll start work on my next secret project…more on that later!
