[Coming Soon] Into the Depths - A Slay-the-Spire kind Weight Gain Theme Roguelike Deckbuilder!

Greetings,

I’m thrilled to announce the development of Into the Depths, a Slay-the-Spire kind roguelike deckbuilder game. In this game, players embody an adventurer descending into an dungeon corrupted by the curse of gluttony. Survival demands more than sharp cards: you must master the delicate balance between feasting and fasting.

Core Features:

  1. 90+ Modular Cards: Build synergizing decks with attack, skill, and power cards that evolve through upgrades

  2. Procedural 4-Layer Journey: Brave randomized paths through biomes warped by gluttony

  3. 70+ Unique Enemies: Outsmart twisted creatures and epic bosses

  4. Weight Management Mechanic: Strategically balance your character’s weight and satiety to activate buffs or dodge penalties – overindulge for explosive power at a cost, or stay lean for precision strikes!

  5. 90+ Relics with Meta-Progression: Unlock game-changing artifacts that permanently alter your strategies

  6. 40+ Branching Events: Navigate risk/reward scenarios ranging from dark pacts to mysterious altars

[Note]: AI drawing was used selectively for less important art assets.

Current Status:

:white_check_mark: Fully functional prototype with core gameplay loop

:white_check_mark: 1 playable character (2+ planned post-launch)

:white_check_mark: Actively balancing card/relic interactions

As non-English developers, our current localization relies heavily on AI translation. We anticipate there may be some imperfect phrasing in the English version. We would be incredibly grateful if native players could help spot these issues - your feedback would be invaluable in improving the game for everyone! Please don’t hesitate to point out even small awkward phrasings

Please DM me or comment below! Community feedback could shape the upcoming version.

Roadmap Highlights:

✦ Additional biomes with themed enemies/events

✦ More playable characters with unique mechanics

✦ Achievements, challenges & difficulty modes

✦ Extensive exploration towards the abyss and unlock more endings

The base game will be free, while deeper expansions will be unlocked exclusively for Patreon members.

Is there any expected release date for a demo of sorts? As this has IMMENSE potential for a game with replay ability

I’m curious what assets are you planning on drawing yourselves?

I am the artist on this project, so most of the images are drawn by me_(:з)∠)_

This looks like it could actually be peak - it’s always really nice when weight is integrated into gameplay so I’m super excited to see this develop!

The game is close to finish currently and went through internal test for several rounds. We prepare to release full public version directly. Hopefully it will be done within 1 month.

We actually have a Built-in Achievement fuction. It might be surprising that so many fuctions can be done with twine.

Just as our diligent artist had mentioned, most of the drawings are painted manually. Less important assets include icons of consumables, relics and picture of some enemies (wild animals for instance).

Will there be different kink bad ends to the game? A game like this seems primed for that

While this game isn’t specifically designed for pursuing multiple bad endings (after all, as a roguelike, death means losing all accumulated resources), we’ve still prepared 50+ unique victory and defeat scenarios for battles to ensure every encounter delivers a distinct outcome.

While at this topic, obviously the game will contain weight gain, but what other kinks are planned to be present?

This looks super enticing, can’t wait to try it upon release!

Being parasitized by dungeon creatures, lactation effects, and other curse effects. Most of these will affect the ending:)

This concept sounds super creative combining Slay the Spire mechanics with a weight gain theme is definitely unique! Curious to see how the deck synergy and progression tie into the theme. Looking forward to trying it out!
