Hey, i’m stuck in chapter 5

I did all the delivery, and i’m stuck repeating the scene in the calahree temple “continue your quest for the taverners and return to aemple once you’ve finished”

That’s the first that I’m hearing of this bug. I’ll take a look at it when I get the chance and see what could be causing this.

Started Chapter 4, finished the initial conversation and uh… this is happening at a mirror? I haven’t done anything else yet, just started the chapter. Not even playing Malary yet.

Is that intended?

Paul on the Wall is intentional - he’s someone that Ginny accidentally trapped in a mirror. He acts as a “where to go from here” point character.

However, him not having a dialogue for Gabby in that chapter is a mistake. I’ll get to it!

Chapter 4, playing Malary. Had a blast by the way!!

Wall of text & images below. Spoilers beware!

Including screenshots for visual for most of these, I hope they help!

  • Unlocked doors (including the cave entrance/exit, and new temple exit/entrance which don’t have doors), need an action button to open, but locked doors give prompted when walked into. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

  • I can’t recruit the retired hero. I have both the gold and the beer. But no prompt to offer it to her at all.

  • Meat stand, chat prompt “what’s new with you?”

  • Item shop has white dude face instead of mr blue skin. Also, “I wanted to talk with you…” does nothing, just closes the dialogue box.

  • These two shops don’t have signs on the buildings (east side of town).

  • Can’t walk onto the loggened porch (sorry, had to make a pun). And sign is blank. I assume this is intentional for now?

  • Southern side of town. Action button to move to next map and to come back.

  • “What are you doing out here?”, her response repeats.

  • GHOST GRANDMA!! OOOO (only when facing the table from the lower chair)

  • Also this:

  • House of south side of town, NW corner, need to use action button to leave the indoor map.

  • Tora comes back if you leave the map and come back. From either direction. She also doesn’t show up at the tavern after giving her the gold.

  • Also, this camp map has no music assigned, so it just uses town music or barrens music, depending which way you came.

  • Badlands sign hath no text.

  • Church requires action button to leave.

  • She takes your money and doesn’t give you anything? Unless that’s the joke… anyway, it’s also repeatable.

  • Typo: Missing an r in breakable. Same text from both sides of the pillar.

  • Typo: “wouldn’t”

  • Undead inn needs action button to leave. But the door in doesn’t, which is awesome!

  • Same with the Shirewood Shipping Founder’s house.

  • I can walk on everyone’s food. Example:

  • Maze needs action button, too, to leave. Door in also needing action button.

  • Completing Thanya’s quest has two bugs. One being that she gives you something, but there’s no dialogue box to tell me what. I don’t see anything new added, unless it’s an Apple? Without the dialogue box, I don’t actually know.

The other is that after completing it, she acts like they’re not all present. Like it simply reset.

  • Oh and Death calls her “Calaharee” ? I assume that was a typo, unless I just read too fast and it was a joke. lol

And that’s it! Chaper 4 was super fun!

Had a great time replaying this.

Is there a way to learn the other half of the code for the chest in the bottom left of the cave? I have the strange token but I don’t know what other item I am supposed to have to get the other half. Is it something I missed or just not in the game rn?

Glad to know that someone has stumbled upon my Easter Egg! The other half of the code isn’t in the game yet, but what it unlocks is. However, this bonus feature is still in development, because there are a lot more important things for me to work on than Easter Eggs, and this one fell by the wayside as more and more issues started to crop up.

A revised plan for the Easter Egg will be in place as of Chapter 6.1.

I’m looking at this as I sit down and fix most of these issues, and the “can’t recruit Alma” one deserves a little explanation.

Alma doesn’t like Malary, which is why you can’t recruit her in Chapter 4. But that’s okay, because you can recruit Delilah and Tia. However, her not being able to be recruited in Chapter 4 was intentional.

That’s valid! I kind of figured that with Delilah, especially given where we find her. But I was writing it out as I went, too

…Wait, did I miss something with Tia somehow?

Anyway, for Alma, if I may suggest. Cn her dialogue be changed for her interaction with Malary, so she doesn’t ask to be hired? The current wording implies she will do it, even if the price is very high. Could be Malary just being snarky with a version of “not gonna happen”, just an an example.

That way it’s clear to the player. It otherwise seems like the same text from Alma’s side as when we met her before, at least in my perspective

Noted and edited - most of your edits have been taken care of, with the exception of especially persistent ones like Tora and ones that haven’t been worked on yet like the revamped item shop. Thanks again!

Game breaking bug in chapter 5:

After coming home to change clothes it gets stuck in a cutscene

So that one’s complicated. Basically, you can’t rush the dialogue. I’ve been working with it to see if I can make it less obstructive, but the script is set to go to the left after the dialogue has been finished.

I’m still trying to find an alternative that still gives the same vibe I want for that scene though!
