Crusader Kings 2 - 3.0's weight gain

I’m not really sure if I want to add anything death related to the process of gaining/stuffing beyond a simple health debuff or a more standard death method (Like my future event where you have a violent inmate try to teach you to cook and then you get stabbed because you had the bright idea of giving a lunatic a knife). This could be done fairly easily though if anyone would want to make an addon for the mod. Thanks for the suggestion though, and if anyone wants to make the addon, I could help with any questions about how to go about making it :slightly_smiling_face:.

I have mostly finished my learning to bake from a friend flavor event now. I will do the last of Tightfit’s suggestions once I get the Court Chef minor title/system in place. If your character has learning of 5, the gluttonous trait, the socializer trait, or the gregarious trait and an adult friend that can’t bake, you can learn to bake via trial and error. About every 6 months, you will have a chance to raise your xp with your friend with no cost other than time. There is a 30% chance every turn for the baker to gain 1 XP in baking (If you want to learn how to bake quickly, this method should only be used to supplement your studies). The friend also has a 50% chance every turn to gain +1 weight level. 10% of the time, the baker will make an excellent batch that will guarantee the friend to gain +1 weight and have a 20% chance of getting the gluttonous trait. This will continue until either the friend chooses to stop, someone dies an unrelated death, or the baker has 10 XP in the baking skill. If the friend was under 35 weight level when starting the event chain, gains weight 10 times from the baking attempts, and is NOW at least 35 weight, they will get an event where they realize how fat this has made them, and this event provides an opportunity to gain the feedee fetish trait. The baker will also have a chance to gain the fat fetish if they are sexually attracted to the friend’s sex.

I think an event in which a character leading troops or in a duel starts getting out of breath or having other negative weight effects would be nice. But considering that you’re already implementing the horse and armour events, I imagine you already planned to implement some.

Just because I have a love for the focuses and would love some more content around them, here are some even suggestions.

Seduce focus giving you an option to spend a small amount of gold to send the target chocolates or other dessert in order to court them. With a bonus to the seduction if the target is a hedonist/glutton/feedee.

Intrigue allowing to fatten and humiliate a rival to decrease their standing, or something similar like sabotaging their clothes to be flimsy or weaken chair legs.

Hunting with events that involve the after parts of feasting on the prey from the hunt, or hunting particularly delicious animals in order to eat them.

War focus could have events to raid food stockpiles or go out reveling with troops to increase moral.

Carousing could have a few more events dedicated to large feasts or an gamble involving an eating or drinking competition.

Family is a hard one, but having an event of having everyone around for a large meal both as an opinion mod and a +1 weight to all dynasty members would be cool. Maybe have more bonuses for nekos there.

Theology could be ignored but it would be good to cross pollinate this with the religion ideas for the mod. Grand feasts to prove faith in exchange for gold, or competitions to make the best offering of food. Those kind of things. Maybe have the player learn of a forgotten religious celebration that call for special breads or pies to be made and someone has to teach (and eat the failed prototypes) the priests to make the food.

Scholar could find old recipes or make cook books that improve weight levels and increase learning. Maybe open a cooking school instead of an observatory.

Business is would probably be something like investing in a small bakery and having it do very well giving the character access to free samples and profit.

I honestly can’t think of much for the last one, besides maybe reorganizing food trade routes or maximizing the estates food budget.

A bit long and basic but I just wanted to put some ideas out there, keep up the good work.

While I would have liked to have more content for everyone for the next demo, I think I’ve gone too long since the last one. Expect the next demo build in couple of days or so :slightly_smiling_face:.

Here is the new Demo:

Fatocracy Demo 6.zip (1.8 MB)

The main new features are the flavor events I’ve made, the introduction of the cooking and baking skill, bug fixes, new localizations from my volunteers, and the introduction of the new heresies for Catholicism and Orthodox that are not feature complete yet.

I’ve also got this work in progress image for the second part of the Neko flavor event:

I know I need to draw the hands and her right arm yet, but how is it so far?

I should also probably take this time to address something that I’m sure that most of us are getting sick of hearing about by now due to how it might impact the development of the mod, the coronavirus. To keep it brief, it shouldn’t really impact the development of the mod any more than it already did in February and January. This is what I was so stressed about during those two months, but I got burnt out worrying about it to that extent now. I am more likely than most to get sick however, because I live with a medical worker. I’ll probably be fine, my immune system is absurdly good (I haven’t even gotten a cold for half a decade) and I recover really fast from illness, but if I do get sick, I’ll probably have to take a hiatus for a couple weeks if it’s not a mild case.

I hope everyone stays safe during this whole mess :slightly_smiling_face:.

Looks quite nice!
I love your art.

I accidentally read that as “the introduction of the cooking and baking bugs.” Always exciting to see a new demo drop, and the artwork looks solid.

I’m sure that probably happened too, lol.

Pardon me,but could someone tell me how to get the potions?

Hunting focus from the way of life dlc

I see thanks for quick reply

If you don’t have the Way of Life DLC, you could also type this into the console (press the ~ key to open the console):
“event FATTENHUNTINGFLAVOR.1”

I will make it possible to get into the potion shop without the dlc in the future (before 1.0 is released).

Really enjoying the update so far, it nice to see the new flavor events and localizations. The new heresies are interesting and thematic. I only had a few issues with it so far.

The permanent +20% revolt risk for Decadentism seems a bit extreme compared to most the other revolt risk modifiers. It is nearly impossible to maintain control with Decadetism due to all the revolts. I think it should be brought down to 2-5% like some of the similar modifiers like extorting peasants which is only 5%.

It seems impossible to maintain any sort of weight with the Tentacle Dreams mod activated. The tentacles seem to force feed you way faster than it is possible to lose weight, which basically guarantees every tentacle slave will become a blob. While thematically it pretty cool, I think it happens a little fast.

The rest of the issues I have are mainly related to the missing localizations which there is no point in complaining about because they are being worked on. I just hope with the localizations of events like the baking or the temporary obesity it gives a bit of feed back on how far things have progressed. It can be difficult to judge how long it will take for the temporary obesity to run its course or how well the baking event is progressing.

Overall i’m really impressed with the mod and I hope you can continue making progress to 1.0.

Yeah I’ll reduce the revolt risk for Decadentism by at least half, I wasn’t sure how aggressive it was going to be when I programmed it.

I still need to reduce the speed of which the tentacle force feeding event happens. It’s really only suited for quick pregnancy length and the “rare” encounter rate at the moment (and even then it is still way to fast, especially if you have the other pregnancy options turned on). It was my intention to have characters that encounter tentacles often to be more on the blob side, but it is a bit much as of now.

I will be working more localizations fairly soon, since I’ve now got quite the backlog of things to write.

I’m glad you are enjoying the mod and thank you for the criticism :slightly_smiling_face:.

Played the new demo excited to see the full realization of the religions. Next, I absolutely love your mod, so take all the following a review and constructive criticism and nothing more. I totally get if you have a different vision for what your going for and don’t use anything i say.

The baking events seem pretty cool, however the only mechanic that i would say is missing in the mod that would help improve this event is there needs to include some way of making friends in the first place. Randomly waiting for vanilla ck2 to fire an event to cause you to have a friend doesn’t happen for 98% the characters in the game.

Also i kinda touched on this in a previous post, idk what you have planed as far as fluff events however the weight pulse is by far the most boring and uninteresting way to gain weight. It would be much more interesting to have it broken out into multiple events that had short text giving you a reason why you gained or lost that weight. IE if the weight pulse makes characters lose 1 if they are temperate, separate that out into its own event that fires yearly and gives the player a text blip(you can even have it pick a random localized description out of many for the event for more flavor).

Balance on rate of gain under different circumstances probably still needs work but i think its to early to say what without the religions more fully flushed out. Watched my daughter go from -7 to 79 in a decade on their weight after marrying her to someone with the fat fetish trait. I would say the issue with rapid weight gain happens after a character hits 30 weight then the next 40+ pile on with in 3 years. The first 30 can take anywhere from 3 years to never happing depending on the situation(with my daughter it took about 6). Also most characters i observe who make it over 40 weight never loss and ride the gain train till death with 80-200 wight by death. This really will be hard to balance once religion and my next point of feed back are fully fleshed out.

Last thing i notice in my most recent play-through one demo 6 is when as a female feedee revealing to a male fat fetish, my partner always picks the most neutral choice of the most inconsequential nature. Until i deleted the options for neutral, negative only allowing for the fat fetish one, it never picked the fat fetish one, no mater how many times i reloaded a save before revealing as a feedee. I’m assuming this is due to there being no code yet in the file for ai chance on the FATTENFETISH.2 event. Also once we both have revealed i have never had an ai initiate any of the stuffing events, or any of those special events for that mater.

Last if you did not know about console commands “charinfo” and “observe” they’re two really great commands for seeing in game characters more in depth details, like flags and variables. charinfo reveals the extended info on the characters and observe puts you in a spectator mod where your not playing a character but can see full details on any characters as if your playing them(revealing hidden traits). great way to see what the ai is choosing to do by watching the ai play the game looking at many characters, would defiantly help with balancing the ai choice on different aspects. Also would add the “play [character id]” to jump in and test how playing a certain caracter with certain traits and stats feels. You can use charinfo to see their id to be able to jump between characters, just make sure their landed or you get an immediate game over.

Out of curiosity how does Tentacle feeding work, I’ve never been able tor get it to fire, so how does it work?

I don’t know the exact specifics on what triggers it, only that you need to be playing as a female ruler with the Tentacled Dreams mod activated. I believe that you get more feeding events the more tentacle traits you get and you might only get the events once you become a tentacle slave.

You can get the mod here. Make sure you download the requirements as well. https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/9377-tentacled-dreams/

Thanks for the help.

I’ve gotten the peasant woman getting angry at a hedonistic liege getting fat off of the peasant’s wok event programmed. I decided to combine a few of the event ideas into this one. This event will not fire if the character is a Bountist or has the just trait, and the character must be hedonistic, slothful, arbitrary, decadent (muslim trait), or a Decadentist (They also need to have the fat trait as well). Like always, there are a few ways for this to play out. Most outcomes will lead to you having to deal with an increased revolt risk (10 % increase for a fairly short time). One option is to get outraged and demand she leave (gives you a prestige bonus and a chance to get the wroth trait), another is to calmly ask the guards to escort her out (prestige is penalized and a chance to gain the patient trait), Decadentists can accuse the woman of being Bountist heretic and imprison her (gain the cruel trait, high chance of getting the zealous trait, large piety bonus, the woman isn’t a “character” at this stage of the event, so there is no character added to your dungeon), and finally diplomatic characters can invite her to a feast to discuss their issues in greater detail, extending the event (requires the gregarious trait, socializer trait, 10 diplomacy, or your secret religion is Bountism).

If you choose to have a feast with them, the scenario will be randomly selected out of three. One scenario is that she is not impressed. One option you get yields the same revolt risk modifier length as if you peacefully escorted her out, and the other option allows Decadentists to throw her in prison like before (no real character in dungeon).

The second scenario (the most likely one as well) is that the feast goes well. This is the first scenario where the peasant woman becomes a character. The character has a 30% chance of being a secret Bountist heretic. You can send her on her way without any trouble (gives you a large prestige bonus, and no revolt risk modifier), invite her to court (gives her the hedonist trait. You lose 20 gold, a new courtier and a larger prestige bonus. Decadentists can’t pick this one), invite her to court and convert her to Decadentism (gives her the hedonist trait, converts her to Decadentism, removes her secret religion if she has one, and gives her a flag that allows her to gain just as much weight every weight pulse as a landed Decadentist leader. You lose 20 gold, get a larger prestige bonus and a small piety bonus).

The final outcome is only possible if your parent religion is either Catholicism or Orthodoxy and you do not follow Bountism secretly. This scenario also generates a character for the peasant woman. In this scenario, she attempts to convert you to Bountism. You can accept the conversion (you secretly convert to Bountism), Decline the conversion (revolt risk that is equivalent to the peaceful removal option from part 1 of the event chain), imprison the heretic (adds the peasant woman to your prison, you gain piety and prestige, you do not risk getting cruel, you have a smaller chance to gain zealous, and you have to deal with revolt risk for longer. You do not need to be a Decadentist to pick this option).

Decadentist rulers will have to deal with this event twice as often, but due to how this behavior is expected from a Decadentist ruler, they also only have to deal with the penalty to revolt risk for half as long.
