Hey, so, I don’t know nothing about how modding is done, in any way really. I’m wondering, how do you change the event text in this game, I’m trying to rewrite some of it so it comes out a bit better. I’ve been trying to edit the files in the localization folders, but I’m not sure I’m doing it right.
Really, I’m not looking to do any other edits, just the text, no coding or anything.
I think this problem has been there since the mod was made and I tried to fix it in some way, but nothing came out of it. Anyway, can you share the screenshots with me to see if it is what I’m thinking about or if there are some other bugs?
I thought it shows the requirments you need to meet to get this house modifier, didn’t you see them? What does it do is it makes characters of your dynasty gain more weight, that’s it, if I remember correctly.
It is not as bad as it could be, but I wish to make the bodies different. Men to be more belly-heavy, while women more hourglass-shaped, that kinda stuff, and make their faces also fuller. As rn their faces are still too skinny for like blob levels of weight
You said you use a different mod for males. Can you share how characters look in your game?
I think sounds are a great idea for the mod, like for events or perhaps in the background in a royal court, or maybe due to a modifier you hear it occasionally at random. Things like burps, farts, gurgles sound really neat and would enhance the atmosphere to it.
nice pics i mean every human has diffrent body type i like my self a woman with a big belly so if all woman in the game have a hourglass-shap is no fun big guts to the win hahaha
Really great job here. These sort of clothing events were exactly what I thought were missing in the mod before. Excited to see your other event ideas.
I’m in the process of losing my mind getting my mod list to work (or at least, find which ones will let me launch the damn game), but I am seeing errors for WGaC in the crash reports. It’ll take me a while to get around to it but it looks like Paradox have done their usual thing of renaming basic variables for no reason that break compatibility with everything. I’ll include the update with the merge I said I’d do forever ago.
Gotta give you this, a thanks for takin your time to keep this mod updated. How often folk say it, i havent reread this, but hey really a due thanks to you for it. I made an account here just to give this thanks. Do take your time, and hope you have a good one
This was more of a headache than I expected. Paradox really loves messing with old code, and their error logging is as useless as ever. Everything has been updated to work with 1.18, and all of the changes from @MomoKashi and @HopelessLoner have been merged into this version. The full list of changes are in the patchnotes file included in the download.
I did try to add a 6th tier for all court amenities, but the game wouldn’t ever use them when calculating a character’s weight; it would just treat them as if they were the base tier. Which makes no sense, given it’s exactly the same code as the previous 5 tiers, and they all contribute to character weight, and every other variable associated with the 6th tiers works just fine.
I suspect this was already an issue before, but I still couldn’t fix it, so for now I’ve just commented out the 6th tiers. If anyone else can figure out how to fix that then all you’ll need to do is remove all the extra # from wgac_court_amenities.txt to re-enable the 6th tiers. I’ve even added full English localisation for them, although someone else will have to translate it to Russian because I don’t trust Google to get it right.
As an added bonus though, both Carnalitas and CBO Unofficial got updated yesterday, so go download them from their respective LoversLab pages for the best experience!
Thank you Wulf, for the bringing the mod up to date. Are any of you familiar with the obesity begone mod? I know, the name is ironic, yet for a while the mod actually did the opposite. Steam Workshop::Obesity Begone! - Better Weight Control I found it blended nicely into all of our particular tastes; this was sadly, before the mod author fixed the AI from descending into gluttony. Does anyone know how to or would be interested in possibly reverting the mod or incorporate some of these elements into WGAC?
Is CBO a requirement like other forks of the mod? Despite the game running fine vanilla, CBO makes the game require multiple hours of loading even alone.
Reading it is needed “for the best experience” makes me hopeful I can use this again!
@Swagmoney that’s certainly something to take a look at. If nothing else I see that author has also made a height and weight display mod, which may just solve my sanity issues trying to fix my RUI patch. It’s possible that mod won’t work perfectly with WGaC straight away, but I could at least use the code to adapt it properly.
@azu7678 It isn’t necessary, but it does make the bodies look a lot better. All throughout testing I didn’t have CBO enabled because it wasn’t updated yet, it’s only at the extreme weights where the vanilla body looks silly. CBO Unofficial is also released in separate parts (base, animations and mesh) for those with weaker computers, so you could try using just the base or base + animations. Just make sure to get the load order right, it should be Carnalitas → CBO Base → Animations → Mesh → WGaC.
I forgot to mention earlier but I also left the original versions of the files I edited trying to get the 6th tier amenities working as .bak files (they’ll open in any text editor), in case that’s of any use to anyone trying to figure out why the weight calculations are broken.
Thank you for your faithful work. It’s definitely going to take me some time to get back to working on the mod, but I’ll try to integrate the new changes I’ve made so far into your version some day.
