Recently picked up the game, and found this mod:
It’s evidently entirely possible to just edit the body weight value of any NPC in the game, judging by this, and I’m curious if anyone has any more details on how to go about doing this, the necessary tools and such, or if there are already any other similar mods. I’m particularly interested in just doing this for all of the romanceable characters. Whatever tool makes these seems to export a compiled fbmod filetype that can’t be cracked or reversed to my knowledge.

A little bit more research, and it looks like it’s a third-party tool called Frosty Editor. Furthermore, it seems like there’s actually a lot of potential for not just changing in-game body triangle coordinate, but actual mesh editing. When I’ve got more time, I might delve into this a bit, and I’ll post more findings, and the files of anything I get around to making.
Veilguard’s not a best of RPG’s recently released, but others like Avowed and Cyberpunk 2077 gave like no body shape options whatsoever, and didn’t make it easy to mod them for that either.
I’ll be real, while I like modding, most fat mods don’t hit for me because I’m a process guy. While some are into WG for the destination, others like me are in it for the journey. As such, I would be a lot more interested in Veilguard if A: it was less fucked over by EA and B: had potential for dynamic body mods rather than static ‘X, but fat’ stuff. Having to manage a character’s weight or seeing NPC weights fluctuate would be a more compelling proposition, so if that is doable, MAYBE someone with the skillset picks it up, or someone is motivated to learn those skills in order to make it happen.
Mods don’t form by osmosis; there’s generally a motivated individual or group that does the actual modding, Just because a game CAN be modded doesn’t mean it WILL be.

There’s no way I’m doing all that. I just like having chubby characters in my games. I don’t personally care for all the fixation on increase. If you’d prefer I not post anything I throw together for it, then alright I guess.

I think having a chubby body mod at all would be great! So personally I appreciate what you’ve put together here

Ah, I missed the bit where you mentioned modding it yourself! Go for it, honestly. Great way to learn more about games and/or practice if you already have the skillset.
I personally wouldn’t be that excited unless it also makes a weight gain/loss mod more feasible, but I am sure others would be provided they already own the game.

Figured a lot out. Started to get stuff working. Will post some files and maybe a guide at some point for it. Probably will make a new post in projects instead when I’m ready to do so. There’s some other sliders that can be messed with too, these screenshots are just an example. A short summary is you need a special fork of Frosty Editor and Mod Manager made for Veilguard. There’s a lot of outdated info scattered online, find their discord. Then, you’ll need to get your hands on a game encryption key. It’s doable, but people are iffy and careful about the channels they use to share it because it’s an IP/Copyright thing or something I guess and people don’t want to get modding resources taken down. Then, there’s this:
Body Proportions List: 0 - Height 1 - Thin/Heavy 2 - Muscular 3 - Waist Width 4 - Shoulder Width 5 - Pelvis Width 6 - Hips Height 7 - Heels 8 - Bra 9 - Helm Size 10 - Gender 11 - Eye Lid Apart 12 - Eye Lid Together 13 - Eye Lid Together Left 14 - Eye Lid Together Right 15 - Chest Size 16 - Glute Size 17 - Buldge Size
CharacterName_Head_Preset\Misc\Items[0]\Overrides\AppearanceAntGSValues\GSFloatValues
The listed items from 0-17 match with the body proportions list
And there’s a lot more I haven’t figured out yet. The double-chin slider is in a different section somewhere. There also might be a way to actually exceed default slider limits, and also manually scale individual bones too it seems like.

Hey, that’s super cool what you’re trying to do. I’m not a fan of the Dragon Age series (i just played a little of Inquisition) but what you are doing is great. Hope you do well andd good luck.
