there probably won’t be any more sizes to weight gain, unless I ever decide to go even bigger than the current blob ending sprite.
So I got a ending were the knight and the mage send a guy with grey hair and they betrey the girls and seal them, I was with my defence prety hight there is any way to avoid this ending? I still had thing to do
Afraid not, other than the blob ending. This is a tie in game for my main project “Heroes on a Budget”, and them ending up the cave needs to happen for that game. The blob end is non canon, hence why it doesn’t give out all the cheat codes (since many of them will be able to be punched into my other game). The game will end either at the start of month 100, or if you lose one of the normal invasions.
Good news is you won ![]()
How does this game tie into Hero’s on a Budget? Is there a lore tie in or something along those lines?
I enjoyed this game quite a bit overall! As I was playing I had some frustrating moments, but I was able to 100% it (I didn’t get all the codes or every bit of dialogue, u couldn’t pay me to play the game more after all that). The first ending I got was the loss ending and finding it unsatisfying, I tried my best to actually win. When I discovered the win ending I was incredibly irritated with it. At that point the movement speed reductions had been driving me up the wall already, and it didn’t help that the redhead I always forget the name of kept saying something about getting the dragonlings to carry her. I thought that was a hint for getting proper movement speed back, but I couldn’t figure out how to get it to happen and I assume it’s not a feature. After that frustration was over though, I began to brainstorm what the last ending could be. I coined it in my head as the “Triple Immobility” ending, and in order to acquire it I grabbed the code for mansion + all large buildings and attempted a pseudo speedrun (I forgot to time unfortunately). I took complete advantage of the farm event in order to accomplish this as quickly as I did. When you order the farmer to store the extra yield, you gain 15 food. When you say you want the food for yourself, you gain one feast. One feast is worth 10 food. Every option on the farmer event (I’m not sure about the sell option and I’ll be honest I don’t care enough to test it) is 50% less efficient than telling the farmer to store the food and reclaiming it via the dragonlings. When I discovered this it was a huge game changer and allowed me to feed a small population without very many farmers while also feeding the dragon court. Honestly without this trick I would’ve quit before getting the Triple Immobility ending, the lack of exact stats as to how the farms and subsequently every other building produces made it feel like guesswork rather than strategy.
But goddamn was it worth it to have been right about what the last ending was (my name for it was cooler though for the record).
Overall great game, love the concept, but I feel like the execution could use improvement! Oh also fuck Malin, I still don’t know how to make her happy aside from stuffing her face.
Question, is Malin supposed to have her own event? The other two do when they are not in charge. (the events being that they are doing something on their own and you can tell them to knock it off or enable them)
Also is there any special event for the other religious doctrines? I know they enable the demon summoning event to happen but is there any others? I have only played with them for a few months because I dont like their effects and the demon event kills my momentum. (That and the old guy event, fuck that dude.)
Great update, been playing the heck out of it but I haven’t explored that much outside of my basic strat of slow build up using the town diet and invite town feast to keep happiness and food high while keep town weight at 0
Ran out of time for Malin’s event, and I saved hers for last since she would be the least likely to have an event where she in some way gets food specifically from the villagers. The plan is to have her get an event once she hits size 5, but then make that event more likely to happen than the other two’s.
There will be more religious events, but again, I ran out of time since I’m participating for this year’s jam as well. As for the old dude, his chances of appearing are tied to happiness. I believe once you get 75 happiness or more, he literally can’t spawn (vice versa is true for the baker girl if you have -75 happiness, it will make him appear even more often).
Glad you liked the update, but yeah once the jam is over I need to go back and balance some things.
Some balance changes would be interesting. I would also recommend some more events for gifts from the inn. Right now (or as far as I know) there is only the merchant who give you 25 gold and the lady that gives you a free feast. Side note you can make it so that you only get free gold if you have a feast already when you go to collect gifts. So it would be nice to add more, both for variety and so it is not so easily abused for gold. Stuff like a small circus for happiness boost or maybe a kings dignitary for a small drop in notoriety. (Would be nice to manipulate that a bit given that almost all the religious policies give it a boost.)
Anyway, keep up the great work, cant wait to see the new jam game as well.
I sense there may be more than the 3 dragonesses at some point with the amount of development that could accumulate weight or improved graphics/pictures. Or more shenanigans on the way as a result of the development?
More meters!
Time to break out the spread sheets.
Is there a reason why the game is called Draconic Expansion here but the file is called Dragonic Expansion?
It’s because I’m stupid. I simply forgot which version of the name I wanted to go with, and I ended up using both by accident. “Draconic Expansion” is the formal name now
I’m hyped! Your art has really improved over the years, can’t wait to play this whatever it is!
So what you going update next? Sorry for asking
round off what’s missing in this update due to lack of time, and probably work on the wizard’s tower and services.
ok that sound good, take your time
The other religions always increase the rate at which the notoriety increases or after an happiness treshold they don’t do it anymore and it remains just the normal notoriety increase?
The other religions will always raise notoriety regardless. Reason is because the kingdom the town was taken from, formally follow the default religion, so deviating from that causes them to get upset. The further the deviation, the more upset they get. Which is why freedom of religion barely impacts it at all, but forcing the town to worship the dragons as gods pisses them off (the kingdom and Rodrick) really quickly.
Hey, the Dragons can’t help that they’re Gods among pitiful mortals.
