Eat The Dungeon General Discussion

Also quick question: will every character eventually be added into the game at some point?

Iā€™m seeing that hippy gobbo silhouette on Alchemist and Iā€™m justā€¦

honestly going to keep my expectations mild, considering. But boy would I love some shortstack representation on this game.

Really like the idea of the Engineer. Having more than one character capable of directly buffing damage would be nice.

The Engineer doesnā€™t list a range, though, and the Druidā€™s range makes no sense (if it canā€™t attack farther than the first row, why have a square that would be in the theoretical 0th row?). Also, wouldnā€™t Illusionist need a range of 2 in order to do her attack properly? Or are you saying that it always attacks the entire screen, and canā€™t be moved? Either way it would be an OP character for several different levels.

Honestly with her lack of targeting focus Iā€™m a little worried about her being under-powered. But I think hitting the whole field is unique enough that I want to make it work.

Every character class will make it in eventually. As for the rejected character designs, Iā€™m still thinking about what to do with them. Iā€™d like to make them NPCs somehow, but I havenā€™t decided exactly what that will look like in-game.

Pure supports donā€™t really have a need for a range listing, imo. The Engineer can support any ally unit

I like the Druid because it makes the unique T shape by combining already existing concepts

This is my intention with the illusionist, yes

Of course Illusionist is in the lead, probably because of snek

For normal gameplay, maybe, but giver her 2k capacity and 100 damage and she completes CfH in 9 attacks. So unless she is very slow itā€™s crazy OP for farming, and if she is very slow than itā€™s just a case of stacking a bunch of support.

Kinda annoying that Patreon wonā€™t let us plebs see the poll results. I understand not letting non-payers vote (thatā€™s the whole point; if you pay you can vote), but not being able to see the results is a bit annoying.

If thatā€™s what the people want, itā€™s gonna make things interesting, considering that, uhā€¦snakes donā€™t have asscheeksā€¦and she literally has no assā€¦which seems like the antithesis of what this community wantsā€¦

Sheā€™s based off a Death Adder, so sheā€™sā€¦ hefty to begin with.

Chubby Snek. Regal Chonk.

@CanoLathra; Illusionistā€™s way out in front with 57 at time of typing. Second place is the Engineer with 19 votes.

Hereā€™s the new weight levels for the spellblade!

I had underestimated the power of snek. I am a fool

She will be the slowest unit in the game by far. Iā€™m ok with her being very powerful if you level her a lot and build an entire team around her. Personally I donā€™t think balancing games is about making everything equally powerful, I think its about making the process of discovering/building whatā€™s powerful interesting.

I agree with you but thatā€™s a patreon thing I canā€™t control. Hereā€™s what the poll looks like now:

Iā€™m sure the rest of her will make up for her lack of ass lol

Damn, SBā€™s personality went from ā€œI am on the verge of shitting myself in terrorā€ to ā€œyou killed my father, prepare to dieā€ real quick.

In most RPGs, this is a fun element. However, one problem with this approach in this specific game is that everyone has a favorite character and wants to use her for the explicit purpose of seeing her in use. Ergo, there should ideally be SOME build in which any given adventurer is viable; otherwise, you need to go out of your way to fatten up the ones that arenā€™t so strong.

I mean, Iā€™ve seen plenty of naga style snake anthros with huge hips/ass.

The problem is that they donā€™t have an ass. You can make the pelvis as wide as you like, but without legs, there are no glutes; without glutes, there can be no cheeks; without cheeks, there is no ass. Iā€™ve seen some artists attempt to make nagas with a legit booty (though I canā€™t seem to find any right now, oddly enough), and it never works out because the asscrack just sorta disappears into theā€¦tail? Back? Is that part of a naga from the human waist down still just its back because itā€™s a snake, or is it its tale because itā€™s a primate from that point upwards?

Also, no legs means no thighs. There is no way around this.

then it probably wont have an ass, it would be funny if it turns into a wall though, true definition of thick. with one C and a K.
