Gave it another try now that most bugs are gone. Bought every single power outside of luck to the max and with the entire party at lvl 46 equipped with blue orbs and still getting one shot by the floor 4 boss. Any tips? Or its just grinding more or its impossible for now?
If you’ve maxed out your class changes (which you should’ve by now, the max is at level 15) and you’re using your powers, the best I can suggest is to make use of the mints you can buy at that point - it’s very doable with them if you’re persistent. I would also recommend getting Leone fattened up as much as possible before trying to use Power Trip (Pizza Pies and Bread Rolls can help mid-fight) - it scales based on her body fat, and it’s very powerful.
Sorry for having it be so difficult - I was trying to not change it too much to keep it accurate to the Jam version while fixing up everything, and I didn’t get to playtest properly for the Jam release. However, the fight is definitely doable - I had a friend beat the game in about an hour on their first playthrough, and they were at level 16-17 by the end and only boosted Attack on Vixen.
JUDGES’ VERDICTS:
The art style is cute and fun to look at. The clacking sound when the player character moves like it’s a game piece is a nice touch. The simple sine wave bounce for the idle sprites is a good idea that helps save on time while ensuring there’s some movement on screen. I like the grid being blacked out and revealed as the player explores, also leans well into the “unexpected outcomes” theme. The idea that fattening is something the player has to deal with and manage is a fun way to take on the challenge of designing a kink game, however I don’t think it completely sticks the landing because it feels entirely incidental and it’s also mechanically disincentivized. If there was some kind of incentive for the player to hold on to the fat (aside from just not being able to afford to fix it) I think that would help out a lot, because as of it right now it almost sort of punishes the player for having a weight gain fetish. Not being able to save for such a grindy game is also a pretty big hit against it (I know this was fixed later but I gotta judge this version of the game). Overall great work though!
One thing that impresses me this developer is their ability to continually and consistently deliver - in five jams they’ve delivered on five games, each with a different genre that never fails to deliver on fun. This year’s entry is no exception, dipping into the world of JRPG dungeon crawling.

As expected this hits a lot of markers successfully, from cute and cozy character designs to a simple yet effective battle system. There is a lot to like an enjoy here. My biggest strike it was in the theme feeling a little weak since it felt mostly like a competently put together JRPG and little more - I assume it was the weakened floor tiles giving way into a sub-dungeon? I had wondered about those mysteriously inaccessible dungeon sections until I tried experimenting.

This is well worth your time playing to scratch that JRPG itch, and while the grind is there - inherent in the genre so not quite a fault with the game - the fact that the design was mindful of this with set monster & trap locations so you can find more direct/safe routes as well as grinding the floor bosses for bigger gains was a point in favour of the design.
