Fat Hazard by orya_1016

I found this game through an artist online called 7sUFYFhySFsdKN0. Basically, you play as a special forces operative working for a private military contractor and you go through this facility where you gain weight via a virus. It was honestly a very enjoyable experience that was well made and reasonably quick to get through. You can find the game here on the creator’s twitter: x.com

The art piece that led me to this game can be found here: x.com

I wasn’t able to find a post that covered this game, so here I am. I played through with a rough translation using translator+, but would be interested to see anyone take a crack at doing a proper translation since the game is short and a real gem.

X says that page doesnt exist. Weird.

X/Twitter’s been on a crusade against users without logins for the better part of a year now, unfortunately. If you’re logged in and still getting an error it may have something to do with your sensitive content settings.

Well, it’s easy enough to copy the download link for the game: https://mega.nz/file/VPU1xLSL#g5nIyEuRWAtPK6FhBy8d8fnuAM1-szchRpxN5YDOKYQ

better than nothing, thanks

For those who don’t know, “Bio Hazard” is the Japanese name for the Resident Evil series, so this game is basically Resident Evil but with fats (hence why the protagonist is “Jessica Valentine”).

By the way, something useful to know before you start is that you’re effectively subjected to a time limit–or rather, a step limit. The “infection percentage” tells you how much weight you gain per step, and once you hit a certain threshold, it’s game over. This becomes obvious once you get far enough into the game, but if you’re like me and tend to spend a lot of time checking the mirror/exploring, you can easily put the run in an unsalvageable state before you get that far, so… be careful about that.

Hmm… I’m not sure we are allowed to post people’s game without their consent. Should I go and ask him? I know Japanese and have been following him for a while now.

Aa long as the game is freely available it’s fine to post

How do I get past the 2nd elevator. It says I need two cards but I’ve only found the senior staff card on the 2nd floor.

There’s a pressure plate next to one of the statues that opens a secret door. You might need to be above a certain weight to activate it, though I’m not 100% sure about that.

You push the statue next to the dark spot on the ground if you aren’t fat enough.

Honestly the game is insanely easy to get through with no fats weirdly enough. If you use the handgun item while having ammo then you do 110-150 damage, combine that with the fact you can sneak up on enemies and you can get through the normal encounters with zero damage using 1 bullet and a normal attack. Just use the medicine to lower your infection after the bosses and boom zero fats run.

I don’t think there is an ending for zero weight gained though or the translation I used broke it, so fair warning. Pretty good game for what it is.

Having played the untranslated version, I can confirm that there only seems to be one ending. At any rate, it still gave me the same ending for minimum weight as it did when I waited until near-immobility. I didn’t try killing all the enemies, but considering that some of them are literally invincible, I doubt it would make a difference.

I think I remember reading somewhere on the creator’s x or in the comments of said x post that the game only having one ending might have been an error? Uncertain on that though.

The bug report only concerns a few additional lines that the protagonist can say prior to leaving the facility. They’re evidently meant to be tied to her weight, but at the moment, she says some of them no matter what weight she’s at. I would only consider them minor variations, not separate endings.

However, the epilogue that follows is the same no matter what. I combed through the game’s .json files to see if there was any other text written for the ending, but there isn’t.

The game is short enough that a couple more endings would be nice but honestly the extra dialogue is probably sufficient.

I just hope that the dev makes more games cause this one was solidly built.
