FATACLYSM - A Multiversal Weight Gain Roguelite [11/1/24 NEW UPDATE!] [v0.1.3 - A Little Bit of Everything]

Did you launch the HTML file from within the same folder as the “data” folder that comes included in the download?

Thanks for reporting this. Should be resolved in the next bugfix.

I’m glad you enjoyed the game! I also agree that some of the Penitentiary’s events are lacking depth. Events like Immobile Inmate and the Armory were designed pretty early in production, while the vastly more complex events like the Gourmand’s were made pretty close to release, so there’s a natural disparity. I’m hoping to amend this by either adding some more options to those events, or by just adding more of a variety of events in general. We’ll see what happens with that, though.

I downloaded the free supporter version but after defeating the warden I got kicked back to the cathedral and told to download the supporter version. I did start this save from the non-supporter version, do I need to start over?

You need to have the paid supporter version to get access of the second parts of the game

Yes, and I have it, and I’m playing on it, but it’s still locking me out of that version’s content :sob:

Been a blast to play. One suggestion I have for the gallery stuff is to have the accommodating descriptions also be shown with the various weight stages. Looking forward to seeing where else you go with this!

I agree on this, would love to be able to read the description from gallery

I’ve got no idea what this means but it seems like its a bug so I’m just gonna post it here. Got this while doing the canteen event.

You’re in AppData/Local/Temp, I think you launched from the .zip instead of unpacking and launching from the local folder.
Go to your downloaded file, right-click, unpack, go into the unpacked folder or if no it was unpacked in your download location, launch that html.

Just a bug in screenshot to report. Surrender button dissapeared as well. Except this moment, I’ve never enjoyed a game from this forum as much as yours. Thanks for your hard work and hours i’ve played so far.

Love this game and played since playtest but due to payment restriction in my country i wanted to ask is free version will be updated or its more like Demo version of Fataclysm?

overall, no joke…the best game ive played on here - fantastic work! if youre open to feedback:

  • the fact that, if i choose to forego “Remove all fat…” from Xaero at the start of the 2nd area…but then I cant use it before fighting the sovereign is a little imbalanced IMO

  • there NEEDS to be a shop or in battle items or something that can be used to reduce fat, buff stats, etc; youre essentially at the mercy of estelle being ok if you want any hope of true support, and once shes too fat, you dont have a chance

  • Losing in the 2nd area shouldnt bump you all the way back to the first area; there should be a save point once you start area 2. i can appreciate a grind…but it gets a little excessive after awhile

  • nitpicky… when you view gallery images, it would be cool to have an X or exit at the top ; sometimes you either accidentally click something or you saw what you wanted, might be easier to exit from the top as opposed to scrolling to the bottom

-also after doing the gourmand event it didnt appear in the “review” section

  • in the gallery, when doing the Royal Banquet playthrough, both options play the same dialogue

  • this feedback is truly the biggest compliment: MORE! more encounters, more stages and sprites, more events (they were my favorite), just such an engaging experience  obviously yes i know this takes a ton of time, so slightly tongue in cheek, but more of it all when you can!

Thanks to everyone for their feedback - It’s appreciated, as always.

Good idea with this! The ability to read descriptions in the gallery has been added to all currently uploaded builds.

I’m glad you liked the game so much. This bug should be fixed in the current bugfix version, so go ahead and download the new files if you don’t want that to happen again. Let me know if it reoccurs, though.

Good catch. This is now fixed, as well.

The public version will getting updates as well. Expect one in the near future.

Thanks! I worked hard on this project, so I appreciate it. Regarding the healing at the start of the Palace, the idea is supposed to be that the group gets fully healed between every layer. Xaero is only moved to right in front of the Sovereign currently because otherwise money and upgrade points would become useless in the Palace, but allowing the ability to fully heal would make the Sovereign fight a little too easy.

I also wanted to keep healing in the layers themselves relatively low, as I personally think that offering too many methods for characters to lose fat in a game about weight gain is a little counterintuitive. However, in the future, there will likely be events that allow for a bit more healing. The next party member that’s going to be added to the game is also slated to be a bit more of a healer.

I also plan on adding a feature in the future that’ll allow you to go straight to a layer from the beginning (think the elevators from Enter the Gungeon, if you’ve played that), though I imagine this probably won’t be added until the third layer is implemented. I also might add a back button to the top of the gallery like you said, so look out for that in the next update.

Also, I’m not really sure what you mean by “both options play the same dialogue” in the Banquet. If you provide a little more info I should be able to fix it, though. Still, I’m glad you really enjoyed the game. You can expect more to come in the future as well, especially considering how much support people have been providing on Patreon!

I mean my actual criticism is I think AI “art” is ugly and unethical and charging money for it even more so. I thought I’d bring it up and see what others thought, sometimes many people will have the same issue but no one will bring it up because they’re worried about what kind of pushback they’ll get. Mobbing, harassment etc. So I thought I’d be the one to mention it and see how others felt. Apologies if I come across as rude or passive aggressive Mr. Reino. Also apologies to Jupiter for clogging up their release thread with this. Congratulations, I may not like the tools you use but making a game isn’t anything to sneeze at. I’m certain this is a mechanically delightful game even if I find it offputting.

How stupid would people have to be to attack the creator over this? Are you scared about a situation like that despite the size of the community that talks and such? It’ll be fine. Not tryna hate on you.

Criticism is fine and even expressing a preference or dislike of something but doing it constructively and respectfully that falls in line with our rules are the bare minimum expectations. No one should respond negatively to an opinion given within those means. But that’s not how it was handled the first time around. You are absolutely free to express your opinion though. As much as developers want to hear positive things, the negatives, and constructive criticisms are just as good and often equally helpful, when done appropriately.

I did quick a bunch of run while trying to do every event but I can’t seems to find those 2 in the palace

A bug caused the Gourmand’s event to not show up in the gallery after you found it for the first time, but that’s now been fixed in the current build if you want to go ahead and download that. You’ll need to find the Gourmand again, but it should be unlocked in the gallery after that. The other event that isn’t unlocked can only be found after you’ve encountered the friendly NPC in the Palace.

Great game! I played the supporter version and plan to continue to support this game.

Two mechanisms I think would be nice to have are:

(1) having some permanent negative status as concequences of actions in the layers (or semi-permanent ones that could be removed in principle, but not easy to). One such thing could be the level of glutonny for each character

(2) perhaps a food system. I do not mean a inventory-like system, but I feel that the characters could run into foods randomly in the travels, and eating those could, perhaps, give them some recovery of energy and perhaps also some negative consequences
