Oh awesome!! I’ll need to play it sometime then. I completely missed the patch notes and just posted that without realizing you already did that lmao >w>

well, i definitely did the jump hitbox disabled thing, i’ll leave to you to judge the adjusted ball hitbox! it’s two separate collision volumes inside the ball, one upper and one lower, both wider than before, from my cursory fiddlin’ with it i liked it more

I did a quick playthrough just trying to get the upgrades as soon as possible, and my word the bubble charge feels SO GOOD NOW!!!
I don’t care what people say, I think it’s perfect! Obviously it’ll need the test of time to get a better idea of how I feel about it, but right off the bat I notice all the jank is gone and it’s a lot more fun to use!! ^w^

And I noticed some changes with enemy placement and level layout along the way, it was a bit more smooth getting through the rooms I did go through.
Speaking of, I don’t know if this is intentional, but in the bug room before getting to the bubble charge room, you can just climb up there part way at minimum weight without the bug bullets. Although it seems I can’t reach the bubble charge room without the bug bullets anyways so it may not be an issue.

Also, as I was rushing over to unlock the bubble charge, I managed to get four burgers on accident and nearly bring them back (I died to that stupid spike in the portal room lmao). I was able to repeat it easily the second try though, I wanna try this with the other burgers but I guess it’s not as hard to carry back a big load with good planning as I thought.

Great update and improvements, just from what little I’ve seen so far.

EDIT: I forgot to add, it seems I can’t ungrab and drop down from a tile I’m hanging from anymore? It’s a little cumbersome when you accidentally grab onto a grate and have to jump out of it.
Aside from that I do like how much faster the climbing is now.

I have already expressed my enjoyment of this game in other platforms but I wanted to leave it here too. From the first version I found the game to be quite challenging and it did take me an embarrasing amount of deaths to figure some jumps out (although some of them werent even needed to advance lmao), but it made all the little victories with the jumps and the charge balls to be quite satisfying in the end. I love the aesthetic, the music is nice and the weight stages are cute too. If anything my only gripe is that weight is merely a punishment, but to be fair it is a challenging one that pushes me to try and overcome it. It’d be nice if there were some opportunities to use higher weight stages as solutions to some stages though. Still, I look forward to seeing how this game evolves!

I played through it again with a must turn in 4 burgers challenge run thing. it does work but you have to do a bit of planing so you don’t get stuck and can reach all of them. though technically you can beat the challenge by just not collecting any burgers at all

the new climbing and bubble feel a lot better.
it also seems like the bullets travel further now. first I thought it was just for the fattest size because you are a bit of a sitting duck but then I noticed it is also for the lower weights. not sure if that is necessary, you already out range everything except the stationary turrets.

I found some bugs
if you are in Locked Room Mystery at max fat you can’t leave the room (you get pushed back in). also you can get stuck under the first red door in that room
if you play with WASD you can’t navigate the menus or drop down while hanging/climbing, you can with the arrows though
if you grab on to a climbable platform that is going down you kinda stay in place until the platform is under you and you land on it

also thanks for opening up the way to the boss for tubbos. I beat him with the tried and true metroidvania boss killing technique

get out DPSed you fat fuck

Is anyone able to enter this door? I’ve collected all 20 burgers and beat the dragon, but I can’t find a functioning setup to go in that red door area. It looks like you are supposed to trampoline off of the beetle below, and wall bounce a ball to bounce off of. But trampolining off of the beetle is too imprecise and almost always launches the ball high angle or right into the spikes. and missing the jump is punished with landing in the spikes.

i believe people have, now that I think about it though i’m not entirely sure how…

For me, i bloated the bug below right next to the spikes on the right, i would jump updward on it and use it as a spring, then throw a bubble in an angle that it would return to me instead of entering the exit, it took a few tries but using the bounce from the bug and the bubble gave me enough air to reach it.

Also, here is a funny picture of the strongest fly (some would say they wished to be them)

I hadn’t played the latest update, but did you add aiming up while shooting?

I was stuck when playing 2.3, but the 2.4 update made jumping on the ball much easier, and I was able to make it in the room (from climbable above, even) and get the burger inside.

That is funny and was constantly happening while I was trying to turn the flying tick into a trampoline to get the burger. It never worked because the bloated tick falls through climbable platforms. Flies can even push the bloated tick around and will ‘pick’ the tick up instead if tick would be pushed into a wall.

It is annoying how the ball will bounce off of flies, chaotically disrupting planned angles.

Honestly I have to say… as someone who isn’t very good at older, harder metroidvanias like this, the difficulty does frustrate me a bit… but I did manage to work through it, and have fun with the game! I started to look at it more like a puzzle, rather than exploration, which I think was the goal. Overall, I can agree with the sentiment that the bouncy balls do feel a bit jank… but I wonder if making them move slower, and making it easier to bounce on them would help? For instance, what if colliding with it after it bounces off something automatically makes you bounce upwards, regardless of where ij the hitbox you collide with it at? I’m sure there’s other things that could help with movement too, like some sort of grapple beam to swing from.

Either way, I’m excited to see what comes from this in the future!

idk if it was the newer update or playing again after a break, maybe both. But I had a way easier time figuring stuff out, and even beat the dragon.

This is a very nice game, and Artsprite is pretty nice. And if this is the demo, I’m very excited about what the complete game is going to be
