The cleanliness of the skill menu is quite nice, but it also comes with a slight gameplay downside.
Assuming you know in what order your party acts, then you might be able to use a quicker character to do some damage in order to make an enemy “Weak”, and then with a slower character try to use eat/spare/capture. This is something you can’t do how things are set up now. It’s not a big deal, but for someone (like me) who tries to optimize their turn in games like this, it is not ideal.
That’s a very good point. Actually, in my play testing, that issue had actually come up, but the play tester liked having to not worry about missing when it was obvious (i.e., when the skill appeared.)
Still, seeing as I went trough the trouble of making a more strategic combat system in the first place, I may as well allow the player to actually strategize their turns…
Alright, making it visible, then.
okay so encounters are disabled until you go to the next phase, sounds much better than what i said, however my question is that does this include scripted encounters like a quest and the farm? also i may or may not be internally freaking out just a tiny bit that my idea actually made the cut somehow.
I didn’t do any testing of this, which in hindsight wasn’t the smartest thing, but my understanding is that it disables specifically random encounters. So on-map encounters, e.g., talking to someone and you fight, would still occur.
herokero Polly is incredibly cute, make her a playable character plsplsplsplsplsplsplsplsplsplspls
and i have a question, what to do with captured UNFED? In the old version they could be eaten, but now they are not.
Haha, the intent is, once I’ve finished the initial set of planned characters (of which there are 2 left, for a total of 15), I’ll start adding bonus characters. Of those, the npcs with unique sprites (like Carmen and, yea, Polly) will be first at bat.
As for the unfed, they currently have no use. I plan to add a way to change them back into regular people at some point, though.
Like the updates and such, is it a bug for Rumia to be alive despite feeding her to Rachel?
Tried looking for other people to recruit after phase 1, can’t find that hefty housewife that is mentioned when recruiting the juvenile delinquent, or I just missed the vital text to find her? I am keen on finding every recruit able character at some point to see their sprites and dialogue. At the phase before level 45, hoping to do the cults 3 quests, can’t even find the cultist who went missing in the hotel. Did find the cowgirl cultist, and stopping GAIN at the farm, um, the farm looks clear unless there is a quest I need to do there to find GAIN.
Love the amount of party members you can have at once too ;D, keep up the good work herokero!
1.YAYYYYYY : D
2.ok is good
3.I also remembered what I wanted to say about grinding on the farm in order to get some kind of ability, the chances of dropping items (cow horns, pig ears…) are too small, I couldn’t collect 15 in 3 hours…
The mutually exclusive characters only apply for the phase you recruit them in. In this case, recruiting Jamie, the delinquent, locks you out of recruiting Phoebe, in the suburbs.
For the quests: the missing person can be located in the apartment building,. If you’ve beaten the farm ‘boss’, then you "just’ have to beat three big enemies in the underground dungeons
Question, what’s the farm boss?
It’s not really a boss, but the cult/gain recruiter will task you with beating someone from the other group at the farm.
Picking the neutral route means you skip this objective.
Ah ok, I’ve done everything they requested and nothing has happened, they just keep repeating the same request. I figured I had missed something.
I’m also guessing that even though the next phase starts at gl45 yet nothing happened is because it’s still being worked on yes?
Beat the optional enemy that spawns quite comfortably around that level
Something may have broken, depending on the build version/of you imported an old save, but there isn’t any content past that besides a flicker of a glimpse of story teaser, and then access to a bonus grinding map with some next phase enemiea.
I can confirm even on a fresh save file clearing the three requests does not progress the dialogue
Gah, that’s unfortunate. Thank you for confirming this!
Beat me to it was about to say about this
Do you have to be at a certain level to enter certain areas of the prison (the staff and processing rooms, blocks B and E), or are they not yet implemented? I’ve been too busy with work to grind as much as I’d like; Kui’s on level 31 currently.
I got to glutton lv20 and my screen is black?
That’s hopefully an old build thing, or perhaps you imported an old save?
There’s been a significant design change to remove that
sequence. It originally was supposed to automatically take you to a new map, but that kept, um, misbehaving, as you’ve seen, so now there’s a message to go to a specific location to progress.
Hopefully you didn’t know that, or else something new broke!
