BEEG SNIVY Let’s goooooo

Welp, so much for “no updates”!

My commissioners (yes, commissioners plural) have gotten 5 more Snivy stages. I think this will be an appropriate place to cap it off (and if people want even more than that it’s gonna be an arm and a leg I tell you what).

What’s more, I’ve also received inquires about making more characters (Pokemon and not), or similar games with new characters.

I see an opportunity here! It would be a grand expansion of the game to accommodate custom characters.

This would mean the game would become significantly larger in scope. To review…

Characters would likely be totally customizable so:

  • Custom dialogue.

  • Custom, rubbable areas (like how Snivy’s head/belly/tail can be rubbed)

  • Custom expandable areas (like how Snivy’s belly/tail expand when stuffed/closer to next stage)

  • Custom stage amounts (stage being levels of fatness). If you’d want 100 stages of fatness for your character, you could do so and the engine would support it. At the present the game’s resolution is set and stone so I’d also need to manage that and probably some zooming functionality.

  • Custom animations. I’d have to figure out how much I’d allow this to be customizable; like if I’d need some sort of system to have certain animations trigger in some places and not.

This format would probably be one file (like a compressed archive with all pertinent character resources, images/sounds/etc.), so it could easily be shared around and managed.

As for how the game itself could be changed:

  • Accomodating scaling resolution/zoom, etc.
  • Custom backgrounds!
  • Maybe more minigames, besides the sliding thing? Some more gameplay opportunities to reduce the monotony. I’d still have to think on this.
  • Releasing a desktop Windows build (not too hard for me, but I opt for web because it’s less annoying)

Scope creep, ho! I’m fine with that, I always did sort of want a central, general game I could make that people would greatly appreciate. I’ve been blown away from the reception this game has gotten (I figure it’s more so because of the character choice and not necessarily about everything around it, but hey, maybe it’s that too.)

I’ll update the thread when there’s news. In the interim…

If you would ever want to make a custom character down the line, I should mention that how Snivy was animated was in my own custom animation editor, Anm2Ed. It’s an animation editor for the animation format used in the video game The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (“.anm2” files) (it’s simply based on XML so it’s very easy to parse and serialize/deserialize). Here’s a behind the scenes look.

I was working on it for other reasons, but I figured I could use it for a game like this too, and I suppose if I plan to expand this game I’d need to expand the editor to support custom characters as well! Maybe a fork for the weird fetish folks who aren’t planning on modding Isaac with in-built support for adding dialogue, etc.

With all this in mind, I suppose if anyone would want to help with the project, do get in touch! For whatever you’d plan on doing with it or would want to see, I’m here…

(And if you are interested in supporting development, I’ll be a typical WG user and shill my Patreon. :^)

Kinda dicy about doing that ‘cuz y’know how dicy TPC/Nintendo can be but if it is becoming a general purpose feeding engine I suppose it won’t be a problem. Maybe I should change the name then lol…)

Love the work done here! Love your art style, too!

I actually tried it yesterday, and seeing it being open source is so nice to see too!

I definitely agree on detaching the hard coding of Snivy to make it a more generic engine, as I was having the half-idea of forking it to do such thing. I guess the last message makes it so a fork won’t be needed for it!

Nice to see it being able to build natively too, and not just as WASM!

Really a cute game, I love the art and the chat feature.

I’m looking forward to this project’s future, but I wanted to add my two cents on the name since you mentioned changing it - even if this becomes an engine for feeding custom characters, I think the name “Feed Snivy” is a good choice. I like how direct it is, and Snivy makes for a great example character to follow.

Glad to see this project getting updates, and VERY glad to see it getting support for custom characters and animations!

Personally, while Snivy is a pretty fun character for me, I’m more excited to see a new feeding game in 2025/2026. I’m a big fan of Doom-The-Wolf’s old flash expansion games, which often use a similar format of “play minigame to make character bigger”. They’re pretty much all either ambiguous expansion, inflation, or preg, so I’m not sure how denizens of this site would feel about them, but they’re worth checking out if anyone’s interested. The old flash ones aren’t on the website, but I believe most of them can still be downloaded from their original Deviantart pages and run locally.

Tangents aside, this game VERY much scratches the same itch for me as those old games, and if I had to speculate, that might be a part of the popularity you’re getting here. That’s why I’m personally interested in it, at least. The potential for modding support is also VERY exciting, since it means (if everything goes well) that people can continue building and iterating on the game without you personally needing to do anything.

I’d love to help, but I don’t have many skills to offer outside of art, which you probably already have covered. My work is visible here and on my FA, though, so if you need anything from me, feel free to ask! I mostly draw canon-style Pokemon and other cartoon monsters, so I might actually be able to whip up some sprites if you’re interested.

As for my personal plans with the game, I’d like to figure out a way to replace the feeding mechanic with an inflation one (somewhat predictably, given my name and avatar) and figure out a way to make the gain more gradual instead of being in several abrupt stages. Maybe I could work out some custom logic for the digestion meter that turns it into a pressure meter, and disable the “evolution” animation and make transitions between stages more seamless…? Food for thought.

Yeeeeeeeah, probably best not to have Snivy’s name on it if it’s going to be a) patron-funded and b) a general WG engine. My first thought would be something like Character Feeding Engine or Character Expansion Engine, and if you want to tie Snivy into it still, I’d maybe use a copyright-proof name for them, like Leaf Noodle’s Character Feeding Engine or Grass Snake’s Character Expansion Engine or something like that. Or you could just… Give Snivy an actual name and use that. If I remember correctly, they’re only ever referred to as Snivy in the game itself.

Whatever you end up doing with this project, I’m excited for it! Best of luck going into 2026.

Ooo I like to see how the new update will go since i immediately grew a liking to this and, yes i was also sad when the Snivy hit the game limit and the customization will be great for this and bring a small community to have their custom characters. But no dount we all want Snivy (or copyright-proof name, Leaf Noodle) to be huge or heck someone else would make a custom character that is Snivy but lets her to be a huge fat planet or larger I bet someone is going to do that.

But anyway, love what your doing, take a break time to time and do well on making the new version of this ;3

Man, this game is so simple, but it’s really cute. I spent a lot of time feeding her and talking to her to see the possible dialogues. I found it a really fun game.
A sequel or another game with the same idea would be welcome.
Keep it up!

Forgive me if this has been asked already (and forgive my lack of knowledge of the terminology, I hardly ever work with this type of animation) but is it possible to implement sub-animations?

For instance, if I want a character to rub their belly, I would rotate their arm forward so that their hand overlaps their belly, giving them the appearance of rubbing it.

But let’s say I also plan on having the position of the character’s shoulder change as they grew bigger- would it be possible for the growth animation to move the shoulder joint so that the arm animation can play at any given time while still keeping the arm attached to the shoulder?

Again, I have literally no idea how feasible this would be to implement or how advanced of a feature this would be, so I thought I’d ask. For all I know, this may be as obvious of a feature as a fill tool in MS Paint or it could be completely outside the scope of what’s possible here.

In any case, best of luck with this project and looking forward to seeing more!

If I understand what you’re describing…at the moment, no, not really.
How animations work is that the characters have distinct, bespoke weight stages, and each stage has its own set of animations. The only thing present right now that lets things look a little different is certain parts of the character being able to be scaled up based on the character’s status.
I’d probably have to rethink the animation system entirely to enable that.

I was only using weight stages as an example here, I meant that one animation would be able to move the root of another animation, so that the first one determines the origin point of the second.

No worries, thank you for responding!

I’ll break character for a bit and say:

  • There’s also a desktop Windows version available to play!
  • WIth this version, modding support has essentially been added! I’ll make a Wiki page for it here on how it all works, but TL;DR on that: it’s a bunch of .xml files in a .zip per-character. You can tinker with it at the moment but I’ll do the lowdown later.
  • I’d like to say that with this I’m probably done with Snivy for now. Sorry not sorry, but this also means I can do MORE CHARACTERS. If you are interested in doing one yourself, or want me to do one for you (for a price :^) ), please reach out!

Habra mas pokemon gordas que la siguiente sea una gardevoir o una laurantis

Will there be more fat Pokémon than the next one being a Gardevoir or a Laurentis?

Feed Snivy now has a Wiki page here, fit with modding help!

Additionally, I would like to say: two more characters are currently in the pipeline to be added to the game! And I personally myself have plans for a couple more. Who could they be?! Figure it out!

YESSSSSSSSSS

Very excited to crack this update open and start tinkering around with stuff. Unfortunately I’m in the middle of a trip right now, so I’ll have to wait until I get home, lest I get caught pokepuff-handed.

Hopefully Snivy will be happy with their new size! Although they seem pretty insatiable, so I’m not sure…

Pushed an update to resolve the item economy issue, and a quick way to activate cheats just in case you just want to see snivy fatter right off the bat

I have RETURNED

And my verdict? Cute fun!

First off, the cons:
I do not like the minigame system. It gets repetitive after a while and the only reason I put up with it is because it was the only way to get more treats.

Smacking, kissing, and petting get boring after a while. All they do (outside of rubbing the belly) is invoke a line of text and some jiggle physics that can get old pretty fast.

Trying to feed Snivy got a little annoying because I would accidentally slip my mouse controller and move the treat away while he was eating, making Snivy act like I did it on purpose.

WHY WOULD YOU SMACK POOR SNIVY HE DID NOTHING WRONG :sob:

Progression did get boring after a while and the only highlights were the first lines of text Snivy would say when he got fatter. That and checking for any new dialogue he might say.

I didn’t like how after a while I was flooded with a screen of lower level treats that had very little effect on Snivy’s waistline. Perhaps a shop system where you sell low level snacks to buy higher level ones might make their existence more tolerable.

Now for the pros:

I really enjoyed the extra new fat stages Snivy had access to. Felt much more developed than the initial build.

KISSING. I loved kissing. Sure it got boring but that didn’t stop me from kissing all over. (…I may have kissed Snivy around his lips a lot more often >///<)

RUBBING DA BELLAY was fun. Sure, there wasn’t much reward to it but I kept doing it anyways cause the difference in digestion rate was noticeable enough.

The writing was spot on as always. Really gave Snivy such a memorable personality.

Overall, great game, 10/10 in-progress build, looking forward to the next one, GOOD JOB.
