Right, I should probably mention this again: I’m currently working on adding a lot of stuff and reworking some things as well, though that’s going to take quite some time, so I sadly can’t say when it’s done. I also need to take a bit of a break right now as I’ve worked on this for over a month and have to do some important things RL.
The current to do list looks something like this:
- Have adaptive self-weight dialog display at higher weight stages on more NPCs (30% done)
- Create full dungeon maps with NPC encounters and events (80% done)
- Overhaul combat to make feeding better (40% done)
- Add equipment and potions, rework food to heal as well (30% done)
- Draw combat pictures for enemies (goblin, orc)
- Add second Main Character (Succubus) as a replacement for Feeder Elf (10% done)
- Have Guard(s) react to Captain Weight (0% done)
- Have more Guards and add stages for them (10% done)
- Fill houses/redo some parts of the city to be less square-like (15% done)
- Fatten Smith (0% done)
- Put Goblin in MC endings (0% done)
- Make Ending for Everyone Fat (0% done)
- Make Ending depending on other recruited characters (0% done)
- Make events for orc and succubus character
- Draw Maya & Rize Blob for Escape End (0% done)
- Make alternative ending with Feeder Elf out of town (0% done)
- Rework mobile blob (MC too fat stage) Sprite (100% done)
- Rework Feeder Elf content to only do some stuff to NPC and have second MC do active Feeder stuff (5% done)
- Write Bar event for Stage 9 to 16, Customers gave both more orders, pull into 11-16 from 2 guys event, involve Elf (5% done)
Which is a lot since it involves quite a lot of writing content that has to be added. Again, I’m currently taking a break, probably for a week or two. After that I should have most RL stuff solved and be rested enough to write again.
In the meantime, if anyone’s got requests or things they like to see that’s not included in the list above please just post it here.
Also, I should probably explain how I changed the dungeon system.
Dungeon Screenshot & Explanation
This shows it pretty well I think. It’s currently five maps of varying sizes, one small, three medium and one large, of which the exits lead to a random exit in the corresponding direction on any other map. Not all maps have all types of directions available. Basically walk left and you will land on another map’s rightmost exit.
All maps have several dozen events placed inside that each have a 10% chance to actually spawn that event, otherwise it get’s deleted. Which means each visit to a map should have a new variation of where traps (which are invisible and got balanced a bit better), treasure chests and enemies are placed.
Enemies will try to reach the player if they’re close enough and initiate combat on contact. Combat itself is still work in progress and thus get’s no images.
It works like this: You can of course simply kill all enemies, but that’s boring. The other option is to stuff them. To that end you have to feed them food. The larger the food the less you need to feed them until they’re to stuffed to be a treat, which would be your goal. To that end Goblins are supposed to have three stages, while Orcs will get either 3, 4 or 5. I haven’t decided that one yet since I still have to draw the images for them, which would be a lot of work.
Another addition is the more you feed them overall, the higher the weight (visible on the map sprites and combat images) will be. Which means even more images to draw which is going to take even more time. Especially since my tablet broke recently.
To that end I’ll also add some equipment and potions to be bought in the shops. I’ll also add a healing effect to each food item so you can use them to heal as well. To that end I’ve made it so that each step inside the dungeon reduces your weight by some amount, going into effect after sleeping in your bed.
And lastly a small poll. Currently the MC get’s slower the more weight she gains, which is fine for story reasons and some realism, but it negatively impacts player experience as getting from place to place takes a lot longer.
Should the Movement Speed down on Weight Up be removed?
