Played a bit of the new demo, really liking how it’s been put together so far. My only real complaint from a design standpoint is a lack of meaningful scene transitions, especially between days and with consecutive scenes taking place with the same BG; even a quick fade out/in would go a long ways towards clear readability.
Similarly, it’d be nice if it were more immediately clear when the date has or hasn’t switched. I found myself checking the phone pretty often to see if a new scene was taking place in the same timeframe or context of a previous scene; it’d be easy to put up a more permanent marker on the screen, or to have it display briefly in a corner when a new scene starts. It’s a useful reference, and likely will be even more valuable in the later (longer) releases, when people will probably want clear checkpoints for skipping through previously-read scenes.
I’m just hoping we get a CG or sprite of Grace from behind since in the demo she mentions her ass being essentially two of the other girl’s bellies lmao
I’ve thought about it, and I don’t think I’ll be opening a Discord yet. My job can have me working odd hours away from a computer 7 days/week, and when I am here I’ve been in a lot more Zoom calls. I get about 1-2 hours of free time per night, and most of that over the past several months has gone towards Forks. Now that the major hurdle’s done, I’ll be alternating days between Forks and the new project (coordinating with everyone takes an especially long time).
All of this is to say that I don’t think I’d be able to spend as much time as I’d like in the Discord to foster it, and thus I wouldn’t be a good community manager either. I like posting on WG because I get to do it at my best and most available
Hello, this is a great demo so far. There are minor flaws inside it. I played through both Rea’s path and Grace’s path so far. I’ve been following Toro’s art since when he went as Firefox. I hope you’ll consider or listen to some of my feedback of the game.
Art
The art has been nice in the chat mode and the Cg parts, but I’ve notice that some of the art is inconsistent. I understand their is other artists helping. But, Some of the proportions in the Cg’s and in game models don’t match the weight of the characters. Like how Grace mentions that she can’t get proportion of people bodies as she draws Alex body.
The backgrounds are beautiful and evolve since the rough drafts.
Music
It’s cute as you play in certain scenes that the music changes depending on what route your taking. Problem is that some of the music can be too loud and you have to lower the volume to play, but there is also music which is not noticeable as you lower the volume, making it feel empty sometimes. I recommend checking some of the songs in there designated spots to see which is too low or too high.
Dialogue
It has a very unique design as there is two chat bubbles conversing with each other.
My problem with it is when Alex thinks sometimes. Most times it’s noticeable when she thinks, but when someone else talks on the same subject it looks like a response to Alex’s thought. If possible can you make its so that a small icon tells it’s a thought bubble.
Pacing in the game can be a little to quick at times causing it to seem that only a few hours has passed, but it’s been days since that conversation. I recommend in-between days a black screen that tells you how many days have passed. Unless it’s the day after.
Characters
They are adorable.
My only concern with characters isn’t the main ones, but the side characters. They have personality, but nothing to base them off of. Sometimes it feels like only the MCs are there. Like when they are having a game with all of them. Alex’s teammate is considered only as student with no sprite. The MCs know who this student is, but is a mystery to us. I recommend, if they don’t get a sprite; just name them with a random name or unless they are a recurring student that the MCs talk about or interact with. To name a few areas of the game. The time in the gym as Alex looks for a club, they interact with some club members. You can label them as Jock/ “Sport” player. The time with Grace in the Café. When Grace wanted her spot she ask for it, but the one who responds is unknown student . Another suggestion is not label them as student, but like “Person sitting down” or “Pass byer”. It gives a certain feeling knowing that they aren’t only label as one being.
Ideas
A map of the area so we know how far each place is on campus or town.
Preview of Alex’s life before we start playing. Like old photos of her.
I between months, Alex way of eating habits or experience of the outside world.(Like a diary/journal.)
If possible more interactors with the environment, and not food related.
When two chat bubbles appear, they are paced differently to see who talk first.
More features in the apps to feel like they aren’t monotone.
Overall a nice story. I understand your very busy making the game, but hope to see if some of my ideas are helpful. Thank you for the gaming experience and cute narrative. Best of luck to all of you.

Old photos of young Alex seem unnecessary and ill advised, going into graphic description’s or having images of a young Alex can start getting into illegal territory very quickly considering this is a fetish game(depending on country we’re talking about and how young). What’s there seems like it already covers enough while not flirting to closely with the illegal territory.
I don’t think it’s necessary to be THAT alarmist. It’s not illegal for fictional characters to have a backstory. That’s not the same thing as child pornography. As long as the depictions are not sexual nor explicit in nature, I do not see how there is any remote risk of certain US laws coming into play.
While i would usually agree, you have to remember this fetish sexualizes fat, or transformations from skinny to fat. A picture of a child fat or not as a “before” could be seen as sexualizing the minor. Where you draw the line starts getting iffy real quick. I personally would stay away from it, as it does not seem necessary, for the game to be good. However I leave it to each, to make their own judgement call, I just want to point out the slippery slope, that may be on.
For example what’s the purpose other than to tell the difference between caketime Alex and old football Alex, which you would do to compare them which would be significant due to this fetish, thereby sexualizing a minor. Words saying she used to play football is more than enough for the stories purposes, without flirting with the minors thing, too much.
Edit: Because i don’t want to add another post to this thread, but in response to @FallenKing107 if the picture is of legal adult Alex none of what im saying applies or needs to be considered, and by all means add the photos.
The photos don’t have to go so far. It can be before she gained 25 pounds, which was only a couple months ago. Or when she was on break with her family and explain a little of her family situation.
I would vehemently disagree insofar as the ‘before’ picture is not the sexual image. It has no inherent sexual nature on it own, is not explicit and any such connotations are likely in the mind of the beholder, not within its Content. I don’t think there’s a ‘slippery slope’ in the matter; if it’s an everyday image of a minor, bereft of nudity or suggestive imagery and fulfils a non-sexual role within the work, there is no problem. If any of those conditions are breached, that is when you start getting questionable. Each of those ‘red lines’ are easily avoided.
It’s like saying that you aren’t allowed to take photos of your kids sliding down a pole at the playground in case a pedo takes copies and jerks off by pretending they’re pole dancing.
An image of a fat person is not sexually explicit untill you have this fetish at which point, it is, or can be. To think that just because an image is not of a nude person or the person is not engaging in a sexual behavior is not the only way an image becomes sexually explicit, while those are way more clear cut, would be naive. While a story about a kid growing up to become fat, is not implicitly sexual or against the law, under normal circumstance. If i were to post it to a fat fetish website, and the main point of the story was this fetish it would most defiantly get you in trouble, and probably be removed by a moderator. In the same way what normally would be perceived as a innocent picture of a kid playing sports, would become sexual in this circumstance. It would be used as a comparison point to the probably more vulgar more explicit older image, however it is part of the comparison that is sexual by nature due to this fetish, thereby making that image part of the sexual action of lusting over someone, by viewing images, one being of a minor, would not be ok in this sexual action.
While playing I found a small problem.During the phone call with Alex’s mom. The ringtone came way later within the conversation.Through me in a loop until I played it a few more times to realize something small.
I don’t know if it was intentional.During the second Quiz Bowl meet. Was there two students. One label as 2 and one just student. I don’t know if there was or not. Found another glitch.When texting the phone won’t go away if you scroll on the mouse.Leaving it there as long as you go through each text again.
When leaving Rea and Hannah’s room after choosing Hannah is right. A few chat boxes later and Alex changes clothing and changes right back.
When you go down Hannah’s route.When they get change in bikinis. When Alex was in the bathroom changing. There was another Alex standing next to Hannah.
tiggertoo’s game is 3d art and more of a dating sim, whereas forks is 2d art and a strict VN story. I think there’s definitely room for both sub-genre’s of game.
