Appreciate it, thank you. Will get to fixing them right away. These bugs are from older versions.
Just uploaded bug v0.51.1 to Patreon containing several bug fixes.
Have you fixed the one where eating or drinking brings up an error and drinks don’t fill up the thirst gauge?
I just released v0.52.2, which should fix the thirst problem too.
For some reason it wont let me open the macos free version. when i open it, it just says this application couldnt be opened. Does anybody know a fix for this??
Sorry such a late reply to something said months ago, but i figure i would make you aware of this:
If your not aware if when you go to build the the game, if you have already precompiled the byte code .rpyc files you can temporarily remove the .rpy files. This has the effect of when building that the rpy files are not distributed with the game only the byte code .rpyc files. This means no one can change the .rpy files because you will not be distributing them. also without all of the .rpy files, renpy won’t recompile the .rpy files and just run off the existing .rpyc byte code files.
This would then allow you to build in a game verification system. Now just like every c++ and other language out there you have to deal with people decompiling your binary byte code and trying to decipher what and where your drm is and bypass it , and recompile. Generaly speaking if your going to do this you would want your sript files to form an big blob of byte code so script archive is preferable to help hide which files the byte code relevant to the drm is in.
Point is you don’t have to release your source code with renpy games many renp’y games do this to keep the code a secret
General build workflow at time of release goes something like: wipe all .rpyc files → lauch game to make renpy recompile all .rpy files into .rpyc → remove .rpy files → build for release without .rpy files in the game directory → restore .rpy files to continue working on game
Highly suggest using something like git locally to commit changes before doing this such that you ccan pull all your files back in the case something goes wrong.
New Version [v0.52.0]
Now this update comes with a couple of quality-of-life features that should have been there for a long time:
- You can now disable the scale (and always see your live weight) in the RenPy preferences
- You can now change the stats screen to show exact numbers, instead of ambigous descriptions
Naturally, I went ahead to give the stats screen a complete overhaul fixing A LOT of graphical issues with the UI (and hopefully didn’t cause any new ones while doing so).
Furthermore, I have made a step to reducing all the “fluff” text in the game, by trying a new approach for the waitress job:
- A lot of repetitive choices were sized down to a single message.
- No longer random results for certain choices. Instead, there is a pre-determined financial benefit, and a stress gain instead.
Generally, I would like to have stress play a bigger role in the game. Based on the stress level, I plan on disabling healthier food options, and calorie-dense food options will decrease the stress level. For now, this feature is available for the waitress job: Some snacks during your shift will become unavailable, if you’re stressed so much. To balance this out, I added some healthier food options, which will get locked quite quickly, if stress is too high.
Gluttony is a stat I am still not quite happy with, but I would like to make it a stat that makes the effect of stress more extreme (i.e. the threshold for locking certain types of foods decreases, as the gluttony stat increases). I would like to combine this with some cap in what the player can consume, and these options become available with gluttony. It wouldn’t make sense to lock e.g., donuts in general, but with a low gluttony stat, I wouldn’t want the player to be able to consume tons of donuts. It just wouldn’t make any sense.
And then there is the alcohol attribute. I would like alcohol to work in a similar manner to the stress attribute: If you’re drunk, lower caloric choices are locked. However, alcohol decreases over time automatically and will be quite short-lived in contrast.
This update contains major UI overhauls (not in terms of design, but mainly in terms of functionality, and quality), to make room for all these plans. And, as already said, some of these features can be demoed at the waitress job.

Does anyone know if there is nudity in this game? if not is it coming in the future? im just curious
The game does not contain full nudity, and there are no plans in the near future of changing that. I just haven’t ever thought about adding nudity.
Near plans currently focus on rebalancing the game with greed, willpower, and alcohol - and adjustments to existing repetitive content, to make it less repetitive, while implementing the new stats into the stories.
Choices will enable or disable based on stats. Something that didn’t happen before, but I think will make the game much more interesting, as it gives a sense of progress. Also, it’s a way to make the game react based on the main character’s development.
Ah okay but u haven’t ever thought about adding nudity sounds a bit odd to me to hear that ![]()
asking this out of pure curiosity but is the free version ever gonna be updated or will it remain at v0.47.0, not meaning to sound like its a bad thing if it isnt, its just i’ve played the free version alot and i honestly cant remember if its ever been updated, but i wont lie this is probably a game i find myself returning to alot anyways because this is still one of the best renpy games i have played
The free version has been updated many times in the past. However, I usually do it every 6-8 versions. Due to a development stop this Spring, also the free version will be delayed.
I’m glad you like the game though ![]()
Are there still plans for a guide of some sort? I heard it was in the discord but it has not been updated. I really enjoy the Jane story and from what I gather here theres alot of it, but I just cannot figure out how to progress that story beyond doing science projects together.
And I read about storylines here that I have never encountered in my multiple playthroughs and I really do try to do everything!
It’s a bit tricky question of feasibility, and time constrains. Sorry for the late reply. There’ll be a new version in November.
I can’t find where to buy water, its not in the store catagories and I also can’t find the scale
Go to the gym. You can have water there.
A small heads up, that I’m still alive.
I’ve worked through the entire game, modifying every menu statement to use the new stats-based approach. This didn’t just take a lot of time; it was a soul-sucking task. Each menu option should now highlight the impact on your stats of choosing it, including calories, fullness, and whether this choice will satisfy thirst. I fixed several minor issues on-the-fly that I noticed during that. If you don’t like the stats, or see it as foreshadowing, you may disable the stats in the preferences tab.
Further (and hell, that was a hustle!) the background now blurs behind UI components so that things get easier to read. Speaking of easier to read, I changed the font (again); still not perfectly happy with it, though. I think it’s much more readable now. The blurring part held me back from a November release.
I plan to release a new version in December, and I’m working on some Christmas-specific content that includes all those QoL improvements. We’ll see how that goes, because during Christmas, I will have to satisfy certain social obligations.
This is the exact reason I don’t understand the pay monthly to play this game. Barely any updates and silence for a while. It literally doesn’t justify a monthly sub to play in the slightest when the update schedule isn’t at all consistent. I’ve said it so many times already but it’s a complete asinine, game killing move.
I’m just glad you’re back on it, keep up the great work, also those who naysay your creative process ignore them, they don’t know your life
The creative process is one thing. What I and several other people have raise issues with is the fact that it costs $12.50 per month to play a game that receives almost no updates for months at a time and doesn’t have nearly enough content to warrant a sub to play system. So for those who want to sub only when new updates come out it makes that all but impossible since you can only play the game while subbed. There are countless games in a similar genre and scope that don’t require this so it just feels like they are sabotaging their own game for no reason at all.
