Hi everyone,
You may have seen in the Programming Help section that I’ve started work on a game. I’m here to share it, because it’s at a very basic early stage but I feed (ha) off player interest and feedback.
So what’s the idea, you might ask. Well, it’s fairly simple at it’s core. You play a priestess of Gia, a goddess of plenty and excess. In a world with many gods, it’s a fight to gain (ha) believers, but you came ready. Your task, on arriving at a new city, will be to gradually take it over until your religion dominates. Step by step, convince the people and push the other gods out until the whole city becomes a temple to Gia.
What I have so far: A storyline, some of the characters, a gameplay loop structure and a punny name.
Greatest existential threat to this game: I find actually putting the things I write into a functional RenPy game to be a massive pain, so it’s a battle against my procrastination (not an easy battle to win)
Quick FAQ (I guess, nobody has asked any questions yet):
Will it have art? The short answer is no. The long answer is that I’m trying my best to at least have backgrounds for scenes, and if I can actually get this into a semi-functional game I may try to get an artist, but for now I can’t pay one and I refuse to use AI for the characters (I don’t entirely reject using it for background placeholders).
How can you help? I mean if you want to take on the RenPy side, you’ll increase the likelihood of this game actually being made by a solid 80%. Other than that, just let me know if there’s something in particular you’d like to see, although I already have a fairly strong idea of where the story is going.
