GorgeWorld For Two

Along with a supplement, I’m currently working on “GorgeWorld For Two”, a Solo/Co-Op GorgeWorld rules supplement that will add in both Journaling and a large selection of random roll tables to the game that would not only assist both Solo and 2 player play, but also just GM’s in general.

This will use a combination of ‘oracles’ (simple ‘yes no’ style RNG answering systems) and an automated monster AI system for easy to manage combat to control enemies, an NPC generator with increasing levels of detail, and even a random Dungeon Generator.

The method for ‘co-op’ is fairly simple, mostly relying on the various oracles and the ‘journal’. As both players will take turns playing as the ‘acting GM’, allowing the other player to play their character, while the GM does their duties while occasionally controlling their own characters. After every scene/section, they will swap over both the journal and the dice over to the other player so ‘they’ can be the ‘acting’ GM. Rolling dice and interpreting the various charts to figure out what the automated GM AI is attempting to say.

There will be additional, more ‘random’ charts, favorite food, favorite dish, an ‘indigestion’ table for randomly rolling what unfortunate drawback a character has for vastly over eating. And for those who enjoy world building, there’s an ‘adventure’ and ‘villain’ sets of tables meant to spark your creativity.

A good chunk of this is already tested, as most of the rules are the rules I used in the initial playtesting of GorgeWorld.

Though, this is for you “I’d love to play but I dont have a group to play it with”, I made this book for you.

Have never done a solo ttrpg before, but I’m looking forward to this! Might just give it a spin

Yeah, playing an open world Solo TTRPG is very much a meditative activity, like playing with a zen garden, or taking care of a bonsai tree… but potentially more violent. Setting up a journal and kind of going through watching a little world you create unfold via the dice rolls and imagining how your character’s ‘play’ through it.

Though the fun thing is, with the journaling system you kind of have a proper record of your adventures, your daydreams.

oh! was sorta interested before but doubt i could put together a table for the rules— Solo rules would be very much appreicated!

Yeah, I’m honestly hoping to also set up a few digital ‘quick ref’ sheets that can either be attached to the back of a GM screen or just printed double sided that had all the most frequently used charts. So that anything other than the initial set up (randomly rolling a campaign world and villains) would fit on a couple sheets of paper for quick reference, and anything more ‘specific’ would be flipped through in the book.

Currently extended a few charts, originally D60 charts (D6 for the 00’s place an D10 for the 0’s place), but now they are full fledged D100 charts.

Also currently having some fun new ‘body shape’ charts, so that GM’s can randomly roll not just the appearance of an NPC, but things like a visual body fat distribution. From “Chocolate Kiss” shaped to just ‘all butt’, from ‘round shortstack’ to very belly focused.

There’s still some playtesting but its really starting to feel properly refined.

This still open~? Please say yes

This is a single player version of the normally multi-player RPG “GorgeWorld”. You may be able to find players who play GorgeWorld in the Looking for Groups section.

Current progress being made on the GorgeWorld For Two book, on top of a planned release date, being the upcomming Valentines Day. Or at least, I ‘hope’ so, some of yall remember my predictions on the release of the original GorgeWorld.

Thankfully its not as intensive (No need to worry about color), its mostly just… gonna be making a lot of charts and a few pre formatted ‘journaling sheets’. Also doing a few more playtests, but really it feels like any real changes are to just organizing the document and sanding down a few potential sharp edges. And just… getting images in.

Here’s a preview of one of the (D-Everything) charts, a special typa of chart designed to randomly generate a more ‘complex’ result via the rolling of an entire 7-piece dice set all at once.

Interesting. What is the expected price for the product?

Seeing that its a smaller book in black and white, the Digital file should be $10. Physical should be $15 paperback and $20 hardcover, a bit more affordable due to the black and white printing.

BAH, why is merely ORGANIZING charts such a pain.
How does this all sound to yall when it comes to content. ((Just the generalized sections, if I labeled every chart we’d be here for a while.

-Intro and basics of how a co-op/solo game works
-Journaling/documenting your adventure rules/method
-Game Pathing System rules (Oracles, monster AI, the ‘brains’ of a Co-Op/Solo system)
-Pre-Campaign Charts (Things like randomly rolling campaign scenarios and villains and monsters and the like if you dont have a campaign setting already in mind.)
-Active Game Charts(Charts you use during game, random NPC generators, Quest generators, Item Generators, Dungeon Generators)
-Random bits and ends charts, for general description and so on. On top of a GM Rorschach of sorts that’s really useful for a lot of stuff. On top of a single condensed page of ‘most used’ charts.

Really the ‘minimum’ charts you’d ‘need’ for a co-op/solo campaign is small. Honestly if your in the groove and know what your doing, I’ve seen people just roll the Oracle Dice and a GM Roarschack and compile a good solo game. but this is more ‘extensive’, partially due to the ‘genre netural’ nature of the book, but also that it can very easily be used as a GM random roll resource book as well.

While I cant stick the… rather massive name charts here, I ‘do’ wanna see what people here will make with this prototype ‘quick’ NPC D-Everything chart (basically just roll an entire 7 piece dice set and each dice attributes to something).

Like, post your results, and then if the character seems to spark some creativity, elaborate on that and post it here. I’m curious if this works for people ‘other’ than me.

((Any particularly good rolls might make a cameo in one of the various demos and examples))

Currently got the journal pages from my formatter and went and made pre filled examples for the book. The image cut off date is on December 1st so that I can ‘get on with it’ over December so that the whole thing should be finished by January. Which will allow for ‘plenty’ of time for Drive Thru RPG to make and send me physicals, and maybe if something go’s wrong I might have enough time for a 2nd one before the Valentines release date.

Still, got plenty of art in for the book, the cover is finished and ready for the formatting, cant wait to see it physically printed on a book.

Overall, everything is properly wrapping up.
