Guide: How to mute certain tags on Weight Gaming

There have been some rumblings about content that people do not like seeing on Weight Gaming and I wanted to make a guide to help improve everyone’s viewing experience. You can mute certain tags so you are no longer notified when projects that use those tags update and they will no longer show up on your latest feed.

In the top right, hit the 3 line hamburger button and go to “My Posts”. Then click on Preferences, Tracking. At the bottom of the page, there is a “Muted” category, where you can put as many tags as you want to be muted.

If you want, you can also change the default home page from the Categories screen to Latest over in Preferences-> Interface-> Default Home Page

EDIT: If you think a topic is missing a tag, it is suggested you make a post in the thread giving the dev a chance to add the tags as needed. Alternatively, you can suggest an admin take a look at it using the “flag” tool. At the bottom of any post, you can click on the three dots, and then the flag button to flag the post for admin attention. From my understanding, users with the trust level of “regular” can also edit tags but I can’t confirm.

I hope this helps improve everyone’s experience on Weight Gaming. Let me know if you have any questions

thank you, but sometimes people don’t USE the tags which is also an issue, but this will help me with getting rid of things i don’t want to see

You can also mute entire categories of the forum too. I did that to one section some time ago, I can’t even remember what it was anymore.

That is the whole crux of the problem, people dont tag their posts properly and you still find content you wouldnt like to see. Still, its nice that its there, thank gods for that.

If people start muting the tags though, they can start reporting tagless threads to mods, and mods will actually help there. Whereas complaining about the existence of content you dislike the mods won’t help with.

So I looked it up and I blocked “Looking for group” and “Chatbots”, because it’s the spammiest of the categories and I’m not interested in either.

Thank you, that was very useful!
