The most powerful machine I have is a 512GB LCD Steam Deck with a 1TB Micro SD card. It uses Linux but Steam lets me run almost all windows programs with Proton GE, I just need to do some weird workarounds if a program requires extra prerequisites to be installed like Visual C++ Runtime or something like that.

Woo, team steam deck! I also have one. The touch pads are amazing don’t know how I gamed on hand helds without them before having a steam deck.

Here I thought I was splurging for an 8-core (Ryzen 7 5800X) only to find out they go up to 32~?

Core count is not everything, in gaming the AMD 9800X3d also an 8 core part is considered to be the fasted cpu for gaming and it does not have a high core count, in the server world were up to 192cores and 384threads with the AMD epyc 9965, but it would be terrible for gaming.
