Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something small but fun:
I’ve just released the first playable version of my new side-project Heavy Couch Princess.

This is not meant to replace Heavy Farm or Heavy Goth GF.
Those games are still in active development.
But updates take time — and while working on bigger systems, writing, art pipelines, and plugins, I wanted to create something simple, self-contained, and fast to update so patrons have something to play in between.

So I decided to try something new for myself:
my first idle / incremental game.

Why make this game now?

A few reasons:

1) I wanted a small project to experiment with

Heavy Farm and Heavy Goth GF are large, complex RPG Maker games with multiple systems, scenes, maps, characters, and art requirements.
They take weeks per update cycle.

Heavy Couch Princess is intentionally tiny and focused.
It lets me test:

  • Idle mechanics
  • Upgrade scaling
  • Weight gain pacing
  • Dialogue systems
  • Quick iteration in RPG Maker MV
  • Fast prototyping without full art pipelines

2) I wanted to release content more frequently

While working on large updates, sometimes patrons have to wait.
This project gives you something to play right now, without delaying the bigger titles.

3) It’s my first attempt at an incremental WG game

I always wanted to try designing a proper:

  • idle core loop
  • feed → grow → upgrade → repeat cycle
  • buff locations
  • affection-based dialogue

This game is my way of learning that genre.

What’s in this first version?

  • Idle weight gain system
  • Calories per click / per second
  • Weight → Stage progression (1–5)
  • Couch & Servant upgrades
  • Buff rooms (fireplace, bed, piano)
  • A full dialogue system
    • stage-based
    • affection tiers
    • dark tower theme
  • Simple HUD
  • Very early placeholder visuals

It’s a complete, functional loop — just not a content-heavy one yet.

What’s coming in the future?

New images for Heavy Couch Princess

This version uses early / temporary visuals.
I plan to create:

  • proper stage art
  • couch evolution art
  • throne variations
  • mood variations
  • maybe even small animations
    in future updates.

Better balance & more upgrades

As you play and give feedback, I’ll refine:

  • pacing
  • upgrade costs
  • buff durations
  • growth curves

More dialogue

Especially for high-stages + high-affection interactions.

A small story wrapper

Nothing big — just enough to give context to the tower, her situation, and your role.

Final notes

This game is meant to be fun, light, and playable right now, while the bigger games continue to grow.

Think of it as:

  • a bonus project
  • a playground for new mechanics
  • a way to keep you entertained between major releases
  • and a chance for me to learn idle-game design

Thanks for supporting my work — the big games are still moving forward, and now you also have something you can click, feed, and watch grow in the meantime.

So, uh, there’s no free demo for this one, either? Alright.

So no free version/demo of what is supposed to be an test game for experimentation. Which you’d be using to likely test and get feedback on ideas for as you release updates for it. Feedback and ideas you’d then implement into the other games that are already paid for, right?

Okay then.

Yet another game you aren’t gonna finish, what number are we on now?

“First Payable Version Released” … you’re entitled to ask whatever you want, but you’re getting a reputation for making games, charging, and then abandoning them.

my guy just gonna be clear with you the more you do this the more it seems like your doing this as cash grabs

If you want, I can also write:

  • a shorter version
  • a slightly more NSFW version
  • a “devlog” styled version
  • or a banner tagline for the forum post.

my guy you AI GENERATED THE FUCKING OPENER AND DIDNT READ OVER IT
what faith should any of us have in your projects when you keep making/abandoning them and cant even be bothered to write your own posts (or check that the AI didnt mess up)

gd1 really went “I want to test grot’s and the mod team’s resolve on their AI stance” with this one, considering they have multiple unfinished projects that use AI to varying extents. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re 100% AI from top to botton if gd1 is using AI for their first posts

In fairness I can think of at least one other person on the forums that does exactly this but with Daz instead of AI (not going to name names here), and there are a lot of abandoned games followed by a new paid release followed by abandonment and a new release. The slopping shall continue until morale improves, etc.

AI definitely makes it easier though, as evidenced by this post lol.

Hi there guys, I used AI for the post because English is not my first language. Regarding the unfinished Projects. I will make it a priority to finnish them. For this project I did not release it yet, only for patrons. It will be published when BugFixing and Balancing is Done. I did not abandoned my older projects, they were just my first projects and I did not know what I was doing. I will also add a DEMO for every project, it shouldn’t be that hard. Thanks for your replies and criticism. Also I am already working with some artists to not rely heavily on AI. Thank you all, and no this post was not written in AI since ChatGPT is down  .

I think it is number 5 but work is ongoing and I plan on giving some love to my older projects.

Yeah I think you are right, might release this version as demo with limited stages.
My thought was I needed something for my patreon.

Yeah you are right, I hope I get to release the demo version for this project today or by tommorow.

Guys I get all the hate, just let my address this. I now know better for the future.
Regarding AI art or assets, since I am a one person dev, I might need to rely on it in future projects. Yeah this was an attempt to get more patreon subscribers since Itchio is weird with NSFW games and I was or am still unsure about ITCHIO.

Look, I get being a solo developer is a challenge, but that doesn’t excuse your behavior and audacity to release another paywalled unfinished game whole having multiple unfinished games that are also paywalled.

I somewhat jest at my comment earlier, but I genuinely hope grot and the moderators view your posts with scrutiny as an example for how they want moderate the forums going forward. At best, you’ve been sincerely incompetent with your intentions on the forum, but at worst, you’ve been malicious with how you greedily nickle and dime people on here.

Im not maicious, Im just incompetent. BUT being honest I got better at gamedev.

thats not an excuse, most projects here are made by solo devs and they dont use AI

From my Patreon.

To address the criticism I got at:

I will now work on, a new version of Heavy Adventure and Heavy Dungeon. The old version of both games will be free, the better and improved version will be posted on here for my patrons and also sold on Itch.io. For the future all games published on itch.io will have a free demo.

I am sorry for poor communication and bad pr. I learned from this experience and of course thank you all.

But don’t you think if you’re a single dev you should focus on one single game to make it right? No 3 or 5 at the same time?

Well that is the thing, I was focused on Systems/Plugins and to test them I wanted to make different projects to see what makes sense. Right now, I am working on Heavy Adventure and the code I wrote and the experience I got helps for sure. Yeah it was way too much, but I will need a bit of time to correct that. Regarding AI, I spent a lot of time improving my comfy-ui workflows and doing AI work I dont think I will abandon this path. But all projects involving AI will have the tag so feel free to not support me in any way. I already commissioned some art, but that takes way more time for the artist than for me to make an ai pic.
