Helldivers 2 Ceepert reskin issues (Fixed and edited)

So I was having issues with the Ceepert fatify skin mod for Helldivers 2, so I decided to take it upon myself to try and mod this beast of a game, and I did it…I think, it works for me.

All you need to do is get the Helldivers 2 mod manager from Nexus Mods (The holy site for all mods) and then install the manager then after that, get the D-00 fatify file here (My Files) and in the mod manager there is an “add” button, click that then select the D-00 Fatify mod.

I only did this one armor, it takes too much time to do more. Also all credit goes to @Ceepert

If you are interested in making your own, just look for guides on making Helldiver 2 Cosmetic Mods, and install Blender. Trust me, blender isnt hard if you are alreay provided with the foundations, hence why I thank Ceepert for this.

God bless you for this
Also, how hard is it to just update these mods? I tried looking into it myself, but after loading up the game’s directories and loading an armor in blender, it was all a confusing mess for me… But I’d probably try patching them for myself, if I had a guide exactly for updating outdated mods, while Ceepert is (seemingly and hopefully only) on a hiatus/busy with something else.

So what I did is use the Helldiver 2 Add-On for Blender, this video here explains it and provides resources needed in it’s description.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdz-JeLvCY4) and what you do is you follow all the steps of making a new patch, however, once you make the “new patch” for the archive 9ba626afa44a3aa3 (could differ on your end or update of the game, so check your data folder for Helldivers 2) you take the old Ceepert fatify mod file from nexus and extract the file. Once extracted you then go back to Blender, then from there where you see the patch you created, go to a folder icon on the rigth side to import your own patch, this will be the Fatify mod. Once done, you then need to change the archive you put, to the corresponding armor you want to switch with the fatify mod (I have not tried cross replacing, meaning D-00 Fatify Armor to B-27 Armor, so be careful) this can be done manually, but my version of the Helldiver 2 modder had a searcher in it, so I was provided with all armor and helmets.
Once you do this, you then need to import all the mesh, or anything else IF you want to edit them, simply look the “Modding” panel to the right then select all, right click then click “import all” or something like that. Then, no matter what you did, edit or not, you then need to save all materials and meshes, then you can write the patch, which will automatically put it in the Helldivers 2 Data folder, or if you want to use a mod manager, write the patch then press “Export it” then you can drop this file into the mod manager, HOWEVER, you need to use Blender, or if you are advanced enough, CMD (Command Prompt) to delete the patch from the Data folder, or you know, you can spend hours going through the folder yourself to look for the patch, stream, and GPU Resources to delete them. But searching in File Explorer on Windows 11 doesn’t allow you to delete the patch.

I think thats about it, tbh I had to spend a day of research to understand this, but once you get it, it’s pretty simple, and honestly hopefully this allows more mods to come up. BECAUSE, I still do not know how to make my own model for the game, I just know how to edit them LMFAO TwT

OFC, hopefully you like this one, I tried making it more flabby and filled with cellulite, just my personal preference.

Alright, thank you for the guide! It seems to be pretty straight forward and comprehensible even for my last two bleeding brain cells. I will make sure to follow it and give it a shot!

Alright, I might’ve f’ed up something as I’m getting the same errors as I would with the original outdated mod…
What I had done, in case if you can catch what I did wrong:
-Opened Blender 4.0 with the latest HD2SDK add-on
-Set up the correct path to my HD2 installation and loaded the main archive (9ba626afa44a3aa3)
-Hit “New Patch”, then with the folder icon, next to the patch, I loaded the outdated mod
-Loaded the armor’s archive (B-27)
-Imported all the meshes, then saved them along with all materials
-Hit “Write Patch” then “Export Patch”
-Installed the exported patch with Arsenal (it deletes/replaces all the “9ba626afa44a3aa3” archives with the ones that are set up in the profile’s load order, so it should allow me to skip deleting anything from the game’s folder)
-Tried booting the game, which immediately CTDs every time (with the same error as I would’ve just installed the outdated mod, as I had mentioned) I enable the “patched mod” in my mod manager

Edit:
When trying to save the meshes, there’s a little pop-up in Blender around the middle at the bottom, saying “no objects selected”. I’m not sure if that’s alright, so I thought I add this bit of info.

Oh okay, I got that too. Im not a expert at Blender as this was my first time. So you have to have all parts selected and be in Object Viewpoint Mode. Then save all meshes. Also if you are getting outdated issues. Honestly, just scrap everything and reinstall it all. Also I had some other add on, ill try to find it. But you may stumble upon it via Nexus mods.

I believe the Add On, adds all resources for the game, or atleast something like that. Im unsure

Yeah, I figured out that I gotta select all items at the “Collection” thing, on the right side of the “Modding” tab, but once I save that and the meshes, export the patch, install the mod, then the game crashes with the same error as it would with the outdated mod.
What exactly you mean by “scrap everything and reinstall it all”?

Yo thanks for advice about this i managed patch my favorite armor this seem simple to do my first time doing this…

Edit:
I patch I-92 Armor Fatify

Could you please write down how/what exactly you did? I tried that armor too, to see if it’s something wrong with the armor I was trying to patch or it’s me messing up something and it turns out to be the latter one, but I have not a single clue on what I’m doing wrong…

I have HD2SDK and on nexus Helldivers 2 Modding Tool for Blender 4.0 so open blender right corner modding on patches right square folder manually load archive open extracted file from fatify whichever mod armor is on bottom no loaded archive right square empty click it now go up to archives manually load archive 9ba626afa44a3aa3 before you do anything load mesh make new patch go to search found archive armor name once you found name armor go back down click that check mark where no load archive pop up armor load mesh with it delete armor piece doesn’t match fatify mesh select all don’t forget click left mouse over armor mesh like square select all pieces then save mesh that should be it export patch file…

Edit:
So far i already made patches for all fatify armors it did not take to long…

i forgot step if confuse anybody i fix my example edit…

My god, thank you! I have no idea how that was any different then what I had tried thus far but it finally worked, thanks!

By the way, did you manage to also patch the FS-11? For me, following the same patching method, it crashes the game to the Playstation-Arrowhead crash report window, instead of the normal, crash with an error code, caused by out of date mod(s)…

I was thinking that it might be caused by the objects being named differently in the mod than in the archives, but that was quickly proven to be false as I accidentally had two right shoulder armors at the same time and when I tried to save those meshes, Blender (or more like the addon) had detected them as being the same objects, despite having different names.

Yea that one i notice name was different it’s better remember that name fatify mesh delete that shoulder it will still work even if names are different it won’t let you save mesh if mesh attached same spot right-shoulder like two objects together…

Edit:

This is files update all fatify first time tryn share it file…
