So I was having issues with the Ceepert fatify skin mod for Helldivers 2, so I decided to take it upon myself to try and mod this beast of a game, and I did it…I think, it works for me.
All you need to do is get the Helldivers 2 mod manager from Nexus Mods (The holy site for all mods) and then install the manager then after that, get the D-00 fatify file here (My Files) and in the mod manager there is an “add” button, click that then select the D-00 Fatify mod.
I only did this one armor, it takes too much time to do more. Also all credit goes to @Ceepert
If you are interested in making your own, just look for guides on making Helldiver 2 Cosmetic Mods, and install Blender. Trust me, blender isnt hard if you are alreay provided with the foundations, hence why I thank Ceepert for this.
(Since this is tricky to do and some people want to pick up the mouse and keyboard and do it themselves :3 here is what I did…and yes this is just a copy and paste of my instructions I already made a post about when this first got started.)
STEPS and INSTRUCTIONS:
So what I did is use the Helldiver 2 Add-On for Blender, this video here explains it and provides resources needed in it’s description.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdz-JeLvCY4) and what you do is you follow all the steps of making a new patch, however, once you make the “new patch” for the archive 9ba626afa44a3aa3 (could differ on your end or update of the game, so check your data folder for Helldivers 2) you take the old Ceepert fatify mod file from nexus and extract the file. Once extracted you then go back to Blender, then from there where you see the patch you created, go to a folder icon on the rigth side to import your own patch, this will be the Fatify mod. Once done, you then need to change the archive you put, to the corresponding armor you want to switch with the fatify mod (I have not tried cross replacing, meaning D-00 Fatify Armor to B-27 Armor, so be careful) this can be done manually, but my version of the Helldiver 2 modder had a searcher in it, so I was provided with all armor and helmets.
Once you do this, you then need to import all the mesh, or anything else IF you want to edit them, simply look the “Modding” panel to the right then select all, right click then click “import all” or something like that. Then, no matter what you did, edit or not, you then need to save all materials and meshes, then you can write the patch, which will automatically put it in the Helldivers 2 Data folder, or if you want to use a mod manager, write the patch then press “Export it” then you can drop this file into the mod manager, HOWEVER, you need to use Blender, or if you are advanced enough, CMD (Command Prompt) to delete the patch from the Data folder, or you know, you can spend hours going through the folder yourself to look for the patch, stream, and GPU Resources to delete them. But searching in File Explorer on Windows 11 doesn’t allow you to delete the patch.
I think thats about it, tbh I had to spend a day of research to understand this, but once you get it, it’s pretty simple, and honestly hopefully this allows more mods to come up. BECAUSE, I still do not know how to make my own model for the game, I just know how to edit them LMFAO TwT
