Hello again, some of you know me

I really want to make a 3D game. Any Ideas on how to make simple 3D characters?

I played a little bit with vroid, but thats not that great to be honest

I think blender would be too much work

Learn Blender or don’t make a 3D game. It isn’t optional. You can’t learn to build a shed (or at least, a good one) without first learning how to use a hammer and nail. Games are the same. You need to learn how to use the tools first or the game is almost always going to be trash.

I don’t mean to be rude. It’s just so many inexperienced devs go “I want to learn how to make X but I don’t want to put in the work to do it.” I’ve been there before. I have 10 years of experience in this industry. As a solo dev, refusing to learn some of the basic skills only gets you so far (in 3D at least).

Learn how to model in Blender. It’s worth it. Even if you don’t want to make an entire character model complete with rigging and animation like I’m currently doing for my own game (and releasing it for free to the public actually), you’ll still need to model props and scenes.

Don’t fret! Blender isn’t too hard to learn. Check out this video (it’s 1 minute):

PS: The lower the poly, the faster the model can run on lower hardware.

Hope this helps!

Working on my Blender Skills, creating chubby or fat characters.
Still a lot to learn and to do. Animation, jiggle physics etc.

I think I found my process!

Taking really any image, I can now make a 3D model that looks smooth and relatively low poly. I will keep you updated!
