How about a simple RPG-style text-adventure?

Even if my main game series may feel a bit left out lately, I have been dabbling with some other little projects while fixing a few major issues with some of my older titles.

One of the projects I have been looking into and enjoyed working on is: Crumblin’s Quest.

A Simple Plot outline:
The Crumblins have always been a peaceful and docile race living in the cracks and holes wherever human’s may make their dwellings. Living mostly off of the crumbs humanity leaves behind, and being not much bigger than a dwarf hamster, they aren’t exactly natural fighters or explorers, as much as chefs, gourmets and food-hoarders. Living in the Earnwile Manor had always left them plenty of spoils to pick through, and for as long as they could remember nothing bad had ever happened in or around their cozy homes. This had of course lead to sedentary lives and widened waists for most of the Crumblins. The only worry they had in this world was gathering enough food before the big sleep overtook them every winter. Some Crumblins had been known to sleep as much as five months out of a year, but as the food sources were so plentiful, no one had ever had any problem filling their pantries and cabinets before the cold set in.

Then one morning everything suddenly changes. Search as they may they could not find so much as a crumb left anywhere in the realm, and even worse: Pill Bugs, Flies, Mice and Rats seems to have taken over much of their previous safe haven. As only the youngest amongst them are still spry enough to do anything even slightly laborious, it falls to a young boy named Saole to save all Crumblin kind.

Now it is up to Saole to find out what happened to all the crummies, make sure the queen and all her underlings gets enough to eat before the winter slumber and free the lands of evil that has set upon it.

Plans:
As always I am using Quest as my platform of choice, but this time around I have developed a functional if simple battle system that at least to me seems to be a lot of fun to play with.
I have developed a few repeating enemy types with some variations to fight and will be setting up little dungeons with bosses waiting at the end of each one. Something a bit bigger and tougher than most of the other enemies you will meet as you explore.
The items you find in this game can be used during fights to give yourself a leg up on the competition.
Certain collectibles you find tucked away may heighten your stats and help you in conversations, with haggling, in combat or sometimes you may even be able to skip some combat if your stats are high enough.
Collect crumbs, the games currency, to spend on healing, buying useful items or maybe you could even trade for larger food items to impress the queen (or maybe one of the other girls that catches your fancy)?

End?
That’s as far as the idea has come so far. The opening area of the game, the battle system, some items and the first dungeon has been planned out and some of it already put into playabe form with very limited writing and dialogue.

This post is mostly here to check if people would be interrested in something like it or not.

Thanks for the attention.
