The game looks nice.

Pretty cute. the story is fun, and the fakeout is presented well. Nice work. I also don’t know if the fat sprites are original or not, but particularly the final weight stage is good looking. This would be fun to see expanded on.

Neat game! As linear as it is, I like the concept and execution. Using game mechanics to convey futility or a shift in the player character’s views is pretty fun, and I think is a nice crux for games based mostly on text/choice dropdowns to use. I enjoy that in the end the ‘bad ending’ is more of a good one, too. An expansion of an idea like this where the dichotomy between working to live and living to live would have a very poignant message, I feel, though as is this is fun, and short and sweet.

My only actual gameplay complaint is that the segments wherein you’re just watching b-roll are covered up a lot by the ‘click to continue’ text. I’m not sure how easy it’d be to make it a slide-show instead for a post-jam update, but that’d be nice to look into to better convey what’s going on/the lack of player control.

As mentioned, this is quite linear. But the twist is really well done, and I really enjoyed the feeling of futility. It provided an interesting perspective compared to most games, and I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it! It was fun to see the story develop and manage the resources of well-being / self-esteem, and I liked the art a lot.

Would love a game where we play as the demon, great work tho!

Sadly it’s very short, i feel like we are not able to see enough progress in terms of weight gain, there are a few images with main character becoming bigger and then BOOM, she becomes huge.
It’s weird to say that biggest advantage of this game is art

Thank you to everyone for your feedback! I’ve made a post-jam version that improves on some of the issues that came up, check it out here:

JUDGES’ VERDICTS:

I quite like the blending of gameplay and narrative at play here (“ludonarrative harmony” if I was being wanky about it). The sinking feeling of not being able to stay on things and succumbing before the theme kicks in. An enjoyable sweet treat that I was happy to play on the whole.

It’s interesting that in the beginning it implies there’s some kind of managment gameplay before the twist totally takes it over. But there’s not much going on, kind of too simple. A pretty average short kink visual novel.
