The text box is looping, can’t get past it without restarting to previous save.
Found it and fixed it, just don’t chat with her for now, it doesn’t do anything for gameplay anyway.
Cool concept but the game is a bit buggy atm. Shooting a commercial locks you out of doing so again and at the end of the month you get the “you forgot to shoot commercial” warning in any case and your debt is increased (am I missing something?); ordering a meal at burger place softlocks the game completely if you pick anything other than the first 2 options.
That’s what I found for now the third one has already been reported.
Hope this helps
yep, fixed both of those now
In the studio, if you talk to her, you end up looping the message of her doing her best infinitely.
Taking the Popstar Special at the burger store will also softlock you.
Also, I’m not sure how, but for whatever reason despite the fact that I shot a commercial in the first week, after the fourth week, the game acted as if I didn’t do anything, putting me in even more debt.
Same for me over here. I didn’t do too well in my first run so I went to restart, but for some reason I could not shoot a 2nd commercial and they even said I forgot.
It’s good to see that it’s the same few bugs being reported, and they’re all fixed up now.
I think I’ll be posting a new demo at the end of every day until the jam is over so it hopefully stays that way.
Not that I really have the time to change it now, but how’s the sound effects and music choice?
Audio design was pretty great. No complaints there!
Looking forward to it. The music choice is pretty good. Is the beach supposed to give me library text? Also, I’ll try to find time to bug hunt for this game everyday you make an update.
New version out, quite a lot more stuff got added, mainly the ability to raise many of the skills you weren’t able to before.
I gave it a quick try. And while I know this is a game jam entry, I feel like my main criticism is still valid even though I know it is a result of the time limit. I feel like there should be unlocking mechanics. Cause when you’re first starting out you are overwhelmed with options, and you have absolutely no idea what you should be doing first or even a specific goal given to you to help give your attention focus. You can do like 20 things as your first action and that can be overwhelming.
I agree. I really want to love this game, but I’m not sure what a good beginning stratagy would be or where I should begin.
Also, I don’t like the system of having to click on objects in the room, especially if there’s only one interactable location. Like at the grocery store for example, I’m there to buy food, the only option available is to buy food, so it’s tedious to have to click map-grocery store-interact-hold arrow key to shelf-click-then menu. It would make more sense to just enter the store and start shopping.
just a heads up of a soft lock. anytime idol-chan has high gluttony and asks for more food at the restaurant the action menu on the left disappears after leaving the restaurant.
Restaraunt gluttony bricks the game as a softlock
Also you CANNOT visit the doctors, it loops you back home
Also
MAN this is impossible, its so difficult to keep her stress low. I either end up BROKE beyond belief to keep taking her to the movies, or she’s too lazy to accomplish anything so I fall behind entirely
As everyone else has said there’s a lot of potential here, but obviously it’s got its flaws. Namely bugs and softlocks, but even at a design standpoint it’s incredibly difficult and sometimes unintuitive, only made worse by the missing features. I’ll also add that it seems there’s only naked sprites for some of the larger sizes, so you go outside naked, and you can awkwardly clip the smaller outfits over them (this doesn’t count as being clothed).
I don’t know if anyone else has said this, but besides the obvious issues with the missing content and softlocks, the game feels… rather aimless. You don’t really seem to get a lot of feedback with what you are doing or if it’s even affecting something, as even Idol-Chan’s commentary merely tells you that she’s either hungry or that she’ll do her best. From the game description I guess it may be intentional, but I think some kind of small help bar telling you what kind of of things you are meant to do to succeed and/or what exactly are your options may help.
