Very good and beautiful game, I liked it a lot, I give it a 9.1/10, I just ask one thing… will there be bad endings? (Please say yes)
P.S. I found several errors, such as if you are in obese mode and you fish, the sprait is removed. Some areas can be crossed, such as the church in terms of tombs.
A toggle could work. I currently only have the slob toggle, but I’ve considered things like health issues to be one down the line, which this might fit under.
I could also see an accessory that offsets the movement penalty. That option still somewhat punishes you for getting too fat by taking up your ring slot, while also keeping that immersion going. Personally I like there being a downside for being too greedy, y’know?
I definitely want to add different “bad endings”, such as if the player gets far too fat to move and whatnot - although it’s important to me that you wouldn’t lose progress for achieving an ending.
And the issue with changing sprites after fishing will be fixed soon! Thank you for letting me know about the errors you find!
So this is a nice little cozy game were I would have schedule when I would fish and then feed people in the town also there is nice progression(at first it is a bit slow bit it ramps up) in the game as you feed people and unlock more things in world but it took me a bit to get use to the fishing and request system because not all request are posted on the menu and find some of the items took a bit of searching also the main feels empty with many house not have people in it and some NPC not have any dialogue but I that problem will be fix in up coming updates and it not a Game breaker so with that I say this is a VERY GREAT game and a start of some thing I need to keep my eye on.
So, I want to open by saying that you’ve got great bones here, and I do hope you continue to work on this game, because it’s got a lot of potential!
First, some technical things:
- When I first talked to the vampire, she had both Request and Talk as an option. I talked to her first, and have never seen Request pop up again. Was the initial appearance of Request the glitch, or is its disappearance?
- The tavern owner’s requests never show up in the quest log
- The shop owner’s “Skill Check” quest never gets marked complete in the quest log
- Am I just dumb, or is there nowhere to fish inside the White Mountain?
- Is there a fish that’s just called “common fish”? I assumed that the recipes that call for “common fish” are just asking for any fish of the common rarity… however, no matter how many minnows and crappies I have in my inventory (plus the other correct ingredients), I’m never able to craft them.
- Every time I return to Arborwyn after having fished out Voidmaw it’s still barren and diseased. I can even reattempt to fish for Voidmaw. I have to go down the vine ladder and exit the tree in order for it to be “restored” again. (I have only tried this via teleport. Maybe it doesn’t happen if you sail back?)
- How many chapters should the help manual in your house have? At the moment there’s only 4, but when I started the game I swore there was more. I could just be insane tho.
- Every time I feed the Orc smith, and only her, I get a massive debug text box informing me of how many calories she technically consumed.
Okay, I think that’s all I can recall. Now, onto the structural critique:
- Like I said, this game has a lot of potential and you’ve already laid a great foundation. But with the current amount of content, combined with the pacing of the day cycle and the sheer amount of grinding required to actually accumulate cash, turns the game into a slog pretty quick. I’m sure this will at least be partially fixed as you add more quests and NPCs and what not, but it’s something to be mindful of.
- Again, maybe just a symptom of early stages of development, but I kind of instantaneously trivialized rod progression. Spamming some fishing early and getting lucky to pull up a couple largemouth bass allowed me to get the sturdy rod a couple days in. From there, it was short work to get the Runemarked Salmon to get the FC-5000, and then just a couple of attempts to pull Voidmaw out and get the Enchanted Vine (which, seems to be pretty much the peak for the current build?) by day 3 or 4 with almost no effort. Felt way too easy for a game like this.
- I know there have been some complaints about the sea, but to me the biggest issue is that it’s mostly dead space between the islands, and then once you can teleport it’s pointless. Personally, I would like to see you add more ship upgrading mechanics to the game and make the sea worthwhile. It’d be great if you could go out and set out nets/cages to catch big bunches of fish (maybe even hire a crew to help?), or to have a harpoon gun that you can upgrade and go out and defeat Krakens and other sea monsters for bounties and resources. Or at minimum allow for some fishing off the side out in the middle of nowhere. Just a thought.
- Additionally, have you considered incentivizing PC weight gain? I think there’s a perfect opportunity here (especially with the orc smith ribbing you for being “small”) to kind of wall of certain levels and sizes of fish behind your weight class. Like, you can’t reel in a fish because you’re so light that when you try, it tugs so hard that you almost fall in the water or lose your rod! But if you’re fatter, you can use your mass to fight back. Would be nice to tie the fetish in more to the mechanics of the game.
I think that’s all of my thoughts for now. I want to make it abundantly clear - the only reason that I wrote all these critiques is because I do like what you do and I do want you to keep going! Rooting for this game!
Wow, I’ll be really looking forward to the next updates. I really liked the sprairts you’ve had. I don’t want to give you any ideas since you define that, but I only said yuri in one ending Anyway, good luck with your project.
This is a massive help, thank you so much!
I’ve gone through and sorted the technical things you mentioned, particularly the bugs, for 0.1.2. But a couple things for now:
- You should be able to fish behind Nym, the cat lady. Someone mentioned previously that it isn’t obvious that it’s water, so I’ll be changing that soon.
- I don’t think any of the fish are labelled as “Common” for crafting, I left that in by mistake when I was testing the system, so apologies for that!
- And the book does have more when you first open it, it’s just not set up correctly! Again, apologies, you aren’t crazy LMAO.
And in terms of structure, I completely agree. There’s a lot that isn’t properly fleshed out, such as character questlines and the surrounding islands being fairly empty. And pacing and progression is something that’ll slowly get better as I learn what works and what people enjoy. A lot of rewards, such as the Attunement Stone that lets you teleport, are given earlier than I would like. Hopefully, with the addition of more areas and NPCs, things like rod progression should be a little better!
Also the best rod in the game is given for filling the Encyclopedia but that is an insanely tedious task and I would not recommend trying it LMAO.
The ocean definitely needs work. Adding the map feature made me realise how empty it was visually. And for gameplay I’ll be adding ocean fishing soon, with other things coming later on! Those are some nice suggestions though, I’ll keep them in mind!
Finally, PC weight gain mechanics as well as the overall fetish content is indeed light. But, now that I’ve gotten some feedback on the core ascepts of the game, I feel a lot better about moving forward and fleshing out the fetish parts of the game too:)
Again, thank you so much! It means a lot that you played and took the time to give some fantastic feedback!
I’m just glad that I was able to provide you useful feedback! Yeah, there are probably some pieces of content/information (like the rods) I might be missing at the point I’m at (I’ve played somewhere over 2.5 hours, iirc), but I felt like it was definitely enough to see the broader strokes. Also I feel really dumb with the ice water there, shocked I never once tried to hit enter on it haha.
OH. And, speaking of the encyclopedia - I’m sure you’re planning to have more fish be available in unique circumstances as you build up the game, so it might be useful that if you go and talk to the character who gave it to you they may give you a vague hint on where/how to find the ones you’re missing. Just a little quality of life idea so filling that whole thing doesn’t feel like a massive chore.
Glad you’re taking feedback to heart - excited to see how this game evolves!
I’m hoping to change what fish you catch based on the weather, season, or time eventually. So a hint system for the encyclopedia would definitely be a good idea!
okay so after playing for a while i’m really liking the game so far, only gripe or bug i can find is some of the burp sounds don’t work when the characters do burp but other than that i’m super hyped for more!!

Continuing the discussion from Isles of Plenty: A Weight Gain Fishing/Life Sim - Ver 0.1.1 (10/08/2025):
Hey there, I have played roughly about 5 hours of this game and it has genuinely been a blast, all the roots for the project is there and I am incredibly excited to see where this goes. also shoutout to whoever did the music its so good! Anyways, cause you asked for feedback here some glitches I encountered
-
There is no audio for the other characters except for the goblin girl burps, do not know if this has just not been implemented yet or an actual issue
-
MC belly in the third stage or bloated stage does not appear when she is facing forwards
-
The cat in the which’s room has the ability to interact with it and the options are yes or no, didn’t effect anything but was funny.
-
Fishing when at max weight removes the sprite entirely and resets back to standard sprite, do not know if anyone had this issue.
-
Completing the final quest for the tavern has her hit the max weight stage, but there is no dialogue change for it (assuming it is supposed to be similar to all other girls who do have a change)
*Molly has the option to be fed but does not have any weight gain stages.
Every glitch I encountered had zero effect on the gameplay, like I said it was truly a fantastic experience!
**Things I wish to see in the future **
-
Blob stages for every girl would be really cool, like MC blob in the first witch quest
-
An update to the fishing system, right now it is kind of disengaging to fish, and I know that is the point of these games but at least adding an element to it would be nice, like maybe instead of the hold mechanic one of the movement keys flashes on the screen and you have to press it in time, the higher level fish the more keys need to be pressed (I have no idea if this is actually possible to do, just a thought.)
-
a way to replay the witch enchantment cutscenes, they are really fun and interesting and only seeing them once is sort of a bummer.
Anyways, that all I have sorry if any of this cam off a little critical or as rambling is it currently 3am as I write this I can not state this enough that this project is truly awesome and I am incredibly excited to see where it goes. Much love, cannot wait for the next update <3
I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
For the reply above as well, I haven’t finished adding a lot of sound effects, in particular for all the burps, but that’ll be sorted shortly! I’m hoping to have a pretty good variety so I’m aiming to avoid reusing the same sounds over and over.
The other issues you mentioned will be sorted in the next version too! And just to note, I use the cats for testing, saying “Yes” should give you all of the required items for Hazel’s requests - but seeing it without context is pretty funny LMAO.
As for future additions:
-
Blob stages will definitely be added. I already have some ideas for each route and for the PC, just needs implementing!
-
I agree the fishing system is lacking. Originally it involved a bit more interaction, but it didn’t work so well once I added fish strengths. I think having to press prompts would be doable. I’m also a fan of Webfishing’s mini game which I could see working.
-
And being able to replay the Witch cutscenes is a great idea! I actually hadn’t considered that, so thanks!
And this wasn’t critical or rambling! Feedback is super helpful, and it makes me happy that people are so interested!
Thank you very much for your feedback!
Umm, so i got to about day 10, got Amelie to stage 2, then the next day she is suddenly stage 3, then i see that everyone else is also suddenly going up a stage every day. TLDR, people are speedrunning obesity .
I think a toggle would be cool, but rather than it just being in the menu, I’d make it something you can acquire in-game. Maybe a recipe for some food that removes it for the day, so it at least takes some money or effort getting ingredients to manage your rising weight.
EDIT: There’s a bug where the quest to give Erik a Runemark Salmon never completes. I talked to him while I had one, and he gave me the dialogue for completing the quest, and it removed the ‘Request’ option, but it hasn’t moved to the Completed requests in the Request menu.
Also, when you feed the orc smith girl, a text box pops up that says “[DEBUG] Calories = ##”
Just went back to Arborwyn the day after catching Voidmaw, and it had reverted back to the ruined tree. I went in, caught Voidmar, and left, and it was back to being ‘completed’. It’s on a rainy day, if that matters.
I checked on the bakery girl, apparently she gave me a request for a recipe book, but I never got dialogue for it, and it isn’t on the quest tracker.
I don’t know where or how to get those.
I won’t make it a toggle. Toggles will only be for things that won’t affect gameplay - like how the slob one just alters some of the dialogue and sound. I have a few ideas to deal with mobility issues that come with letting yourself get too fat, though.
And all of those bugs have been fixed for the next version! Thank you for letting me know, though!
Version 0.1.2 is now available.
Enjoy!
EDIT: There’s now an itch page for the game!
Some bugs I’ve run into
-
Millicent won’t take blood after the first time, she says she’s already fed on me today even on later days.
-
I’m getting the tutorial for feeding people every time I feed Molly.
-
When you get the third thing for Minrae, the message you get afterwards just says you get a ‘REWARD!’
-
Amelie just isn’t getting fatter? Like, I blobbed up everybody else but the drunk lady using the burgers, even the people who don’t love them, but giving Amelie eclairs every day still hasn’t gotten her past the first stage of fatness. Is it bugged, or are the burgers just always the best option?
-
Maybe this isn’t a bug, but after catching Voidmaw and restoring the greenery, nothing is happening after that. Laurel keeps saying she’ll “send word of your deed once you are finished here”, and nothing changes days afterwards.
Also some things that aren’t bugs but do still bug me:
-
I can’t for the life of me figure out Scarlette or Molly’s favorite foods. Is it healthy food? None of the healthy food you can buy gives a lot of calories, and anything that might be craftable is locked off by ingredients I haven’t been able to find, possibly because they’re locked off by bugged events or it just takes a lot of days before it shows up. Kinda feels like it’s easier to just get them burgers than find any healthy foods.
-
It’d be nice if the Encyclopedia was separated by different fishing locations so I don’t spend an hour getting nothing but Grass Carp in the Arborwyn river. Cuz as far as I can tell that’s all that’s in there.
-
Speaking of which, it’d be REALLY GREAT to get something that made it so you just don’t catch common fish anymore. Like bait or a hat to equip or something. Or just reduce the chance of catching them altogether cuz right now it feels like it’s 90% common fish, 9% uncommon, 1% rare or epic, and 0% that last “?????” cuz isn’t in the game yet or something.
Some of the switches were missing for Millicent, Molly, and Amelie. The “Reward” text was a placeholder to remind me to add one because there isn’t anything yet. I’ll put a fixed version up in a moment, sorry about that.
After you catch Voidmaw, that’s it for the moment. I’ll probably start putting in some indicators that say when you’ve reached the end of a route.
Favourite foods will be indicated by a heart appearing after you feed them. But you’re right that there aren’t decent healthy foods - I’ll add more options for food soon.
The Encyclopedia is separate by location, although I can add sub-lists for each location if it’d be clearer. There are epic and legendary tier fish, but they’re very low drop rates - which is also why you’re only catching Grass Carp as the other 2 in the Arborwyn river are epic and legendary. I can change the drop rates if it’s frustrating, however.
Baits are also something I’ve been looking at adding, so that could be an option too.
EDIT: Version 0.1.2b sorts out the issues with Millicent, Molly, and Amelie.
