Isles of Plenty: A Weight Gain Fishing/Life Sim - Ver 0.1.3 (23/08/2025)

Okay, I’m convinced the legendary fish under the Arborwyn tree is bugged, or the RNG is just set ridiculously low. I’ve fished there over a hundred times(I don’t know how many for sure because I actually maxed out Amberglow Tetra at 99) and still haven’t gotten it. I’ve gotten the legendary fish in multiple other locations in less than half that many attempts.

I really think you should just make a specific location where you always hook the legendary, even if it’s just a one-time thing so the encyclopedia can actually get finished in a sane amount of time.

I also don’t think any of the elixirs other than the ā€˜go faster’ one are working, or that spending adipose is increasing your max energy. There’s no indicator of it like the energy bar getting longer, and I’ve never caught multiple fish with the elixir that’s supposed to do that.

Also, common fish don’t register as valid for the recipe that needs common fish.

Any chance for a Mac version? I’ve tried various methods already via Wine/Whiskey/Crossover to no avail. No worries if not in the cards.

Honestly I don’t think the odds need to be changed, what i would do is add a luck stat. This would allow the early game to stay the same so the economy doesn’t break with legendary fish but late game the encyclopedia isn’t frustrating.
Another reason for the luck stat is mostly because currently speed and bait are much worse than strength and you would never increase them over strength willingly.
Bait is just a small time saver and speed is almost useless with high strength and only saves even less time than bait so combining those two stats into just one speed stat would make it a lot better.
As a result you can then fill the third stat slot with luck actually giving strength some contest for your accessory slot having to balance luck and strength to get higher rarity fish.

I’m currently changing how the odds for fish work. Right now, trying to add luck or remove a certain rarity via. an item would be a massive pain - which is why I couldn’t add such a stat from the start. Plus, I’ll be able to get baits working with the new system, so I’ll be able to add one that removes common fish from the pool as an example.

I’m also going to rework the fishing mechanic and minigame. It was the first thing I put together over a year ago and I feel more confident that I can do better. With what I have in mind, it should balance out the stats as well as lessen the dependence on strength. A diferent minigame should also help with making the other stats more important, although I agree that speed and bite could be combined!

I’ll see about adding a Mac version to the Itch page next version!

Might be a bug, might just not be implemented yet, but Millicent doesn’t seem to be getting fatter no matter how many days I feed her blood.

Either way, I also had the thought that it’d be cool if how many calories feeding gives her was affected by how fat you are, the fatter you are the more calories it gives. Giving being fat some advantages and stuff for it to unlock in general would be cool to give it some benefits along with the disadvantages.

I feel I’m missing something but where do I get cooking oil? Herbs and spices?
Also, I got the recipie for Blubberfin Oil but where do I make it?

So far, enjoying what is here but hoping I don’t need to restart with every update.

Cooking Oil should be purchasable from Amelie. The other things mentioned aren’t accessible properly yet, working on sorting out the crafting & cooking stuff with this next version. And Blubberfin Oil is being changed into an Elixir, currently it’s pretty useless.

Unless I’m mistaken, you should be able to copy your save file from a previous version to the save folder of a new version. But, I’m unsure if it would cause any issues.

Restarting is annoying but it’s a consequence of this still being a very early demo. I’ll be implementing some progress skips for things like the tutorial section in case transferring a save doesn’t work!

I was using version 1.2 and not 1.2b but here is the evidence.

She had no oil T-T

I loaded up the new version on there is no save… I am shattered but will continue to help test it out.
If I may make a small suggestion, I see you did say that you will be working on the cooking and crafting next update but my suggestion would be to make it so there are easier recipies early on, maybe having the one that requires salt and oil to just require salt or oil. It would be nice to just have more choices early on as all I can do is stuff everyone with Sea Bass…

For some reason she only has Cooking Oil the very first time you talk to her (idk what I was doing that day).

My initial focus was on buying the food you would use, crafting was a bit of an afterthought, hence why some of the recipes and ingredients are random. But, it’s being worked on!

Also just to check, have you moved your save file from the old version folder to the new one? It won’t do it automatically.

There should be a folder named ā€œsaveā€ that has your save file in it.

So I moved the save file but she still won’t sell oil so it might be locked in.
Also, I already got the PC to stage 3 and you mentioned a fix yet it looks the same so maybe I’ll need to start fresh. Oh well.

As someone who LOVES fishing and also weight gain games, this game has been an awesome experience. Found myself surprisingly more intrigued in trying to complete the encyclopedia like a pokemon game than the actual fetish content lol. Can’t wait to see how this game progresses in the future!

Also, side question. Has there been a little cheat sheet for the encyclopedia posted anywhere yet? I don’t wanna waste time fishing at a spot I’ve already gotten all the fish from without knowing lol.

Hiiiiiiiiii! I really liked this game and it’s very promising so far! I’ve had a similar concept in my notebook of ideas and I’m glad to see someone has something like it. I can’t remember encountering any bugs that haven’t already been reported.

Genuinely awesome wg game and the concept is so fun. I love the characters and their personalitys it just a really cute game.I played through most the game doing all the main quests on release and got up the vine rod and a bunch of other stuff without demotools. So as someone who has tried the gameplay loop there are a few major issues imo that should prob could be quickly helped with some tweaks. First being the speed with it taking forever to travel back and forth with an easy quick fix being an addition of a speed tweaker in demotools. Also add home PLEASE to demotools that would make everything so much easier. Another issue is the progression of cash which I do think was helped with the vampire but making food cheaper would do a lot for the game especially how you can only feed each npc once a day and there are many npcs to feed. Finally is the time issue. It really ruins the immersion when I just have to wait multiple minutes anytime I need to go to the tavern. A quick fix is also to either have an option to sleep to certain times or have a time changer option in demo tools. Very sorry if this comes of standoffish or as rude I really enjoyed the game and as a player just want to help make it a more fun and interactive game. But keep up the great work

Im not sure if its bugged but it takes so long to fatten up the npcs and make money that it ruins the game for me which would otherwise be good

Version 0.1.3 is now available on the itch page:)

Got a bug to report. When I talk to Hazel, the game acts like I already finished her quests, even though I only just finished the tutorial.
