Another week, another update to the system, this one is a bit less content rich but still impactful, especially with the rework to how enemies gain Nutrition. I do hope that these changes will make the game more enjoyable.

Something else that came to my attention was that, in altering significant amounts of the base game content it has felt increasingly as though I was converting Lancer into a different game to where it would be unrecognizable or too prone to forcing the fetish content onto players. As such I am currently working with community members to figure out how to approach this issue. Whatever the outcome is, I do hope it can make for a better overall experience (even if it ends up being a “rip off the band-aid” situation)

Portly Pilot Base Draft 15:

  • Made applying Nutrition on enemies more viable
    • NPCs now only have 10 Overnutrition per size, while players still have 20
    • Implemented an optional rule in the ‘NPCs and Nutrition’ section where if an NPC goes up by Size 1 between their turns, they will be IMPAIRED until the end of their next turn as their rapid weight gain leaves them distracted.
  • Introduced changes to 2 Atlas systems make them work better with the homebrew
    • Multi-Gear Maneuver System now lets characters with a base Size of ½ but enlarged by any means (including base Frame Size increases) to use the zipline option
    • Jager Kunst I enables characters with a base Size of ½ but enlarged by any means (including base Frame Size increases) to be treated as 1 Size smaller for the system, down to a minimum of Size ½.
  • Added a few small goodies
    • Mass Redistributer - Market Pilot Gear
    • Environmental Camouflage - Brand New Kobold Trait
  • Rebalancing
    • Berry-Laced Code now forces Systems Saves instead of Systems Checks

    • Feeding Hose now Threat 2, and so long as the hit enemy remains within threat and you do not attack someone else with the feeding hose, you can keep making the Free Action against them.

  • Shortened the lore for the Frostbite Coolant Pods
  • Clarified the HORUS ‘Printing LL2 Frames’ roll result for 1-2 also applies to NHPs

Howdy everyone, work is still being done to try addressing the “overtaking” issues mentioned in the previous post. Do you have any plans to incorporate the Field Guide of Suldan stuff with this system? I kinda wanna try a fatty trying to fit their way into a C&H Matador.

I have no plans on integrating it into other homebrews as I would prefer for it to only require the official content. That said, you are more than welcome to make Portly Pilot supplements or houserules for other homebrews like the Field Guide of Suldan or Enhanced Combat.

Hey hey people, Warlynx here. Really hoping that this ends up being the last major up date (meanwhile I said that 3-4 versions ago) since I would like to end up with something “finished” that I can confidently put down and enjoy rather than constantly feeling the need to add more to it. While adding more stuff is fun on the player side, it is a headache for GMs to have to constantly adjust for all the new items and rebalances. I did do some work to handle the “overtaking” situation along with doing some general tidying up. Regardless, I once again am hoping that you enjoy all the new changes

    • Kinky Craftsman Talent, a talent focused around causing status effects to your enemies via a customized integrated weapon.
    • Tungsten Zeppelin Talent, a talent focused around messing around with the newly added Full Floating status to hover and inflating enemies

    • Hacker 2 Jam Cockpit Overhaul - Removed due to unnecessary interactions

Howdy howdy. Just wanted to say I made a few improvements and changes to the Character Template Sheet to try improving the user experience. I don’t know nearly enough about it to do anything more sophisticated but I do hope that you enjoy these changes.

  • Provided dropdown lists for Bond Name and Bond Power Source
  • Added basic reference information on the Bond/Burden/Clock System
  • Automated many of the numbers on the combat page and included a tab for stat increases from other modifiers (HP from Personalizations, Save Target from Lesson of the Open Door, Heat Cap from Superior by Design, etc.) along with automating some of the Portly Pilot numbers
  • Provided dropdown lists for the mech’s chassis mounts, weapon mount/size, weapon type, and system SP cost

Greetings again, it’s time for another installment of “this is the last major Portly Pilot update I swear”. What initially started off as me realizing that statuses and conditions are not one and the same then led to me realizing that the concept for the Artemis Class NHP could become a full on condition much like what happened with Full Floating, then I ended up realizing I had neglected narrative content and kink-optional npc systems for the base books, and the realizations kept going on and on until I ended up with a lot more changes than I expected. While I do still have some stuff in the works, I am trying to wind down in hopes that I can release a “final” version of the homebrew that does not require GMs to constantly update things every time I end up with a major update. I am not perfect and I realized that I not only made a few mistakes with the latest update, but also that some of my earlier additions to the homeforge were nearly unusable, far too niche, or were not worded properly. Along with that I wanted to address some general balancing concerns especially with the new Breaker NPC which I felt I made some of the optional systems/weapons far too strong. Also as promised, the fat-themed bond is included for folks who either want to fully indulge themselves or who want a side of a different bond to gain their chosen bond’s veteran power.

Portly Pilot Base Book Draft 17A:

  • Added ‘The Gourmand’ Bond, a bond centered fulfilling the desires of yourself and others

As I get closer to the hopefully full release of Portly Pilots, I wanted to handle a variety of quality of life changes and small additions to make the whole corebook feel more ‘complete’ along with providing some alternative ways to play…mainly for people who wanted to have AI/NHP characters (looking at you LEGIONNAIRE homebrew players). Portly Pilot Base Book Draft 17B:

  • Expanded the rules on how non-Biological characters can gain weight and overall interact with the Portly Pilot system (NHP/AI player character fans, this one is for you)
    • Also included information on playing as Size ½ mechs for those wanting to be the mechs rather than a person piloting one
  • Added the Olympus, a Size ½ mech available at LL0 focused around providing team support (and giving people wanting to play as Size ½ mechs an option from the start)
  • Adjusted the mechanics of Full Floating slightly
  • Adjusted several of the downtime actions
    • Intensive Work and Labor now gives you a reserve even if you rolled a 9 or below

Howdy howdy. With this update in particular I wanted to focus on the kink optional market pilot equipment as previously they only had 1 pilot weapon and a handful of gear that just barely made up a single page. With this update, I wanted to give more options for each of the three kinks right from the start as opposed to before where a significant chunk of the items were locked behind exotic gear. Not only that, I also wanted to make some more refinements to bring the homeforge closer to a ‘final release’ state such as finishing up the optional systems for NPCs, making some adjustments to some of the reserves, and providing a few more mech options to the mech items. As always, I am hoping that you enjoy these new additions and changes (along with hoping that my brain will finally be satisfied with what I have made instead ending up releasing several more “last major updates”).

Greetings everyone, I hope that you have all been well since the last update. I am currently in the process of working on making a thorough compendium for Foundry VTT that anyone wanting to GM Portly Pilot and its optionals so that having to meticulously port everything from the books into the VTT itself is a pain only I have to experience. Additionally I am starting to feel satisfied with the content present in the base book and ravager…but still may implement a few balancing changes or additions before finalizing them.     • Siren - A Gorgon alt frame that fattens, lures, and tempts targets into winding up in an immobile bliss

    • Adjusted Flowing Barrier’s description to be more in line with existing Overshield systems

Portly Pilot Base Book Draft 19:

  • Made a new status; Obstructed
    • Some issues have caused the pilot’s chest to become obstructed or the liquid being unable to be leaked out. This causes them to store 2 Nutrition Points of liquids that back up into their body for each instance of EXCESSIVE PRODUCTION. For every 10 Nutrition Points of liquids stored this way, the character gains an instance of STUFFED/INFLATED. Characters can get the OBSTRUCTED status from meeting one or more of the following criteria:
      • Actively wearing a hardsuit that provides 1 or more Armor
      • Have the TIGHT FIT or PRONE status.
      • They or someone else are purposefully obstructing their chest.
      • They are being GRAPPLED as a pilot while outside of their mech or vehicle.
      • Are inflicted with the OBSTRUCTED status directly.
    • If this status was inflicted directly, it wears off at the end of the scene. Otherwise, it cannot be cleared until either the status is transferred or the criteria is no longer met.
    • Change Automatic Extractor, Productive Needle Launcher, optional NPC rules, Rapid Backlog, Incapacitating Mines, and Runaway Production to inflict this status

  • Added a section for how to handle player immobilizations

Howdy howdy everyone, today marks a major day in the Portly Pilot addon as, you guessed it, the Foundry VTT compendium has been completed and is (hopefully) ready for use. This is my first venture into making this homeforge’s content premade in a virtual tabletop environment for other people to import directly. Not only that, but having to go through everything again made me catch some major and minor oversights that I missed for so long. While there may be some changes here and there, I feel safe in saying this serves as the “release” version of it…at least until my brain goes back to obsessing over this and I end up producing 30+ more pages of content before it is satisified. Nevertheless, I deeply hope that you enjoy all this new content and the Foundry VTT Compendium.

Greetings all. So…I’ve gotten to the point where I have recognized that if I don’t force myself to stop, I am just going to end up endlessly adding content to the core book until I’m either burned out or it’s some 500+ page gargantuan document. Every time I thought I had a “final version” or “last major update”, my brain kept finding issues or thinking of new stuff to add. Eventually I just said that enough was enough and that I had to make a definitive TRUE FINAL VERSION. Granted I will still be making quality of life adjustments and balancing changes to it, but I have decided that I need to stop constantly expanding the core book. Howdy howdy everyone. So remember how I mentioned that additional content would be tied to supplement content? Well turns out I had some more ideas and thought it would be fun to introduce some licensed equipment. Yes you heard right, full 3-Rank licenses and custom equipment along with a new branch of Adi-Ind; Adi-Req to have core bonuses based around usage of these licenses. That said I did make a few changes to the base book to compensate for changes made to some of the material in the suppliment, but all the new content has been reserved for said suppliment. Do keep in mind the Foundry VTT compendium has not been updated yet as a dedicated .LCP is in the works which should help streamline the data importing and management massively in addition to letting you import it directly into any LCP compatible program instead of only Foundry. As always, here’s hoping you enjoy all the new changes and I will let you know when we get a functioning .LCP for the homebrew.

Howdy everyone and… wow it has been a hot minute since I posted updates for the homebrew on here. My previous statement about getting into a mostly happy state with the homebrew is becoming more and more true with every passing version. Who knows, I may end up reaching an actual stopping point when it comes to major content updates as already between the 3 versions there is nearly 270 pages of content. Again the .LCP is in the works but with this intending to be my last major change to the core book and settling onthe Ravager stuff, it is likely that only the Corsairs module will have substantial changes from hereon out.       • As a full action, you can Attempt Escape. You roll against the devourer’s Save Target. On a success, you escape and are placed adjacent to the target. In addition, they cannot attempt to swallow you by any means until the end of their next turn.

Greetings all. So, I am not entirely sure if I plan for this to be my last “big” update. For me I feel like I have already made a mountain of content and I would rather focus on making sure all (or most of it) is viable to use rather than simply pile on more content. Another major factor in this slowdown is some complications regarding the .LCP process that I do not want to exacerbate by doing any groundbreaking changes if possible. With all that said. I hope you all enjoy the new content.

    • Threat Sweeper Network has been overhauled
      • 1/round, when the Tsunami uses a system or action that targets an allied character, they ignore INVISIBLE on all hostile characters until the end of their next turn.
    • Mandrake Burst Fire Module has been reworked
      • No longer lets you ignore any x/round or x/scene restrictions tied to the Hammerstrike Howitzer
      • Now makes you SLOWED until the end of your next turn
      • You can now use protocols and overcharge as normal after activating it
      • Explicitly stated you can use any combination of modes
      • You can use modes that you have already used twice in the current scene
    • Engorged Updraft’s 1/scene limit on hostile characters now only applies to successful uses instead of any use.

      • Reactive Reload has been replaced with Assault Boost (1/round, when an allied character that the Hailstorm is granting damage reduction, Immunity, or cover takes damage, Nutrition, , or, it can spend a reaction to move up to its Speed towards the target. This movement ignores Engagement, difficult terrain, and reactions.)
      • New Passive: Loader Override (When a hostile character deals damage, Nutrition, , or against an allied character within 3 and line of sight, you gain an Override Charge, up to a maximum of 3. You can only gain an Override Charge 1/turn. As a quick action, you can take equal to your current Override Charges to reload that many Loading weapons. Override Charges last until the end of the scene or until you take this action.)
      • JLBRK-ERDKTE has been overhauled (Protocol: The next time you activate Loader Override, you can immediately attack with every weapon you reloaded. This counts as a Barrage for the purposes of duplicate actions. Target Lockdown now works with any action or system that targeted an allied character on your previous turn.)

Hello hello everyone. The. LCP project is still in the works so, outside of the Corpulent Corsairs playtest, the core book and ravager addon have only gotten some fixes and rebalances to live up to the goal of making things more viable. That said, Corpulent Corsairs has gotten a variety of new content in both gameplay and narrative content. As always, hope that everyone enjoys the changes and additions with this update.

Portly Pilot Base Book Release 1.0.9B:

  • Handled some small issues
    • Clarified the Milky Burns tech action
    • Cleaned up some redundant wording on things involving cockpit size (ex: “Cockpit Size is increased by 1” instead of “Cockpit Size is increased by Size 1”)
    • Cleaned up the Interactions and Changes section
    • Clarified that Jucifier Liquid Shotgun’s IMPAIRED save trigger only happens if the target was IMPAIRED before being hit
  • Rebalances and reworks
    • Milky Burns can now only inflict up to 6 instances of EXCESSIVE PRODUCTION

  • Rebalances and Reworks
    • Landslide has been reworked
      • New Trait: Bioframe (The Landslide cannot gain any Overnutrition Points or Portly Pilot Statuses And Conditions, but can gain Nutrition for the purposes of its traits.)
      • Gooey Insides now lets the Landslide devour targets even if not piloted by a Biological pilot
      • Nutritional Mending now can be used if the Landslide or Landslide’s pilot gains Nutrition
    • New Chimera optional trait: Arms Distribution (At the end of the Chimera’s turn, if they have a weapon other than the Junk Launcher, they can give it to an allied character within Range 3 and line of sight. The Chimera cannot use this trait if they used it on the previous round.)
    • JLBRK-ERDKTE now counts as both a Barrage and Skirmish for the purpose of duplicate action restrictions to prevent excessive attacking
    • Goldeye’s Paunch Rifle now does 10/20/30 Nutrition instead of 15/25/35
    • Directed Adi-Pulse now makes the target gain 10 Nutrition instead of 5
  • Fixed numerous grammatical and formatting issues
