Mukbang Simulator Twine Game - Working Demo WIP

Howdy.

Last night, in an crazy burst of something, I pieced together the skeleton of a Mukbang simulator. It’s missing all the bells and whistles you’d expect from something like this (Visuals, Descriptions, Audio) but it works.

I’m going to continue to update it as I find the energy, all feedback is appreciated.

To Do:

  • Write weight descriptions
  • Write fullness descriptions
  • Write food and eating descriptions
  • Add some character customization (Gender, Basic feature description, Furry races)
  • Program a pay scale for streaming (Currently, you can only make tips as a random event)
  • Add upgrades to the shop that allow for better stream revenue
  • Basic audio/sound cues
  • Improve Cashflow balance (Maybe add difficulty settings)
  • Add a clothing system
  • Add specific food variety

[1.3 Update]

*Gave it an aesthetic overhaul (Sorry, no darkmode yet.)
*Added gender
*Added a sandbox mode
*Wrote more descriptions (at the moment, crappy placeholders)
*Overhauled the eating, and calories system
*Improved streaming
*Added more stats
*Fixed minor bugs (Probably created some new ones)

I found someone to write better blurbs and descriptions. He’s someone who’s writing I’ve admired for a long time so I’m very excited!

Cheers.

i have a suggestion for the game, maybe add some furry races? It’ll be cool to play as a gaining Anthro fox or a anthro dragon!

I like that idea, adding it to the agenda.

W suggestion, furry options in games are always welcome in my house

You should also add different clothes with different descriptions based off how full you are and how they fit. I’d probably simplify it down to 3 or 4 different clothes sizes. Features like buttons or zippers could also affect how the character feels when eating as clothes would have different levels of stretchiness.

I’d also love to see different types of food that will change how much weight you gain. Certain foods are healthier than others and early on maybe the healthier foods are easier to eat and less likely to make the character feel sick. This would limit your foods you could eat.

I’d also add a stomach capacity system that can stretch based off how full your stomach is. Some foods and drinks are better for stretching your stomach than others. There could also be a system that allows you to go past full but the fuller you get the more likely the character is to get sick and lose that stomach fullness from pushing too far. Maybe things like alcohol or something else could affect this chance and make it less likely. For instance people do tend to eat more than usual when eating with others even though this wouldn’t fit this game.

Adding Clothes and Food variety to the list. They’ll be later additions but I like the concepts.

I actually wrote a stomach capacity system earlier today, haha. It’ll be launched with the next update.

My biggest suggestion is changing the background color from white to something else - it hurts my eyes after a bit, haha.

Tbh after playing so many white text on black background Twine games, black text on a white background felt almost novel in comparison. Mind you, I didn’t play long enough to get eyestrain (waiting for more content to be added).

What bothered me about the formatting was the lack of spacing control. A few <<nobr>>s here and there (or whatever the Harlowe equivalent is) to get rid of the big empty spaces would’ve been a blessing.

Sorry about your eyes haha, I’ll add a darkmode toggle next.

A lot of the weird spacing is debug stuff I hide instead of removing,

I’ll do a little cleanup next update.

Looks like it has some good potential but the framework will definitely need some rebalancing.

By day 21 I had 4 billion viewers and $10 billion lmao

Nice game
hope you find a good writer soon

I cracked open the code to mod in a feature I wanted (twine is easy like that) and I spotted this bug. You seem to have accidentally hardcoded working to give the player 88 dollars specifically when they work on an empty stomach, rather than using your $pay variable.

Anyway here’s most of the mod code I added. Also needed to write a new boolean into the Start passage and reset it in the Summery passage. And needed to add a passage link in the Main passage.

It’s an exercise activity to lose weight without starvation, so there can be stuffing while still staying in shape.

In a proper implementation I would have the effects of exercise take place on the Summery passage, but then most of the code couldn’t be pasted together in one passage.

<!--RNG-->
<h2>Exercise</h2>

(if: $exercised is true)[You already exercised today.]
(elseif: $sick is true) [You're too sick to exercise today.]
(elseif: $gutfill is >=6)[You're too bloated from yesterday to exercise today.]
(elseif: $overfill >= 3)[You're too full to exercise today.]
(elseif: $gutfill is >=4)[(set: $weight to $weight - 1) (set: $exercised to true) You were too bloated from yesterday to finish your workout and stopped halfway through.]
(elseif: $overfill >= 2) [(set: $weight to $weight - 1) (set: $exercised to true) You were too full to finish your workout and stopped halfway through.]
(elseif: $overfill >= 1)[(set: $weight to $weight - 2) (set: $exercised to true)You felt sluggish during your exercise, but it was otherwise uneventful.]
(elseif: $stomachcap <= $stomachfill *1)[(set: $weight to $weight - 2) (set: $exercised to true)You had an uneventful exercise.]
(else:)[(set: $weight to $weight - 2) (set: $exercised to true) Your stomach growled throughout your whole exercise. You should really eat something.]

Yeah, HTML isn’t exactly fort knox. I like what you added, do you want me to put it in?
Good eye on that payment issue, I’ll fix that rq.

Took me a while to find a <<nobr>> equivalent for Harlowe, but here you go:

Every time I look into Harlowe, it makes me glad I switched over to Sugarcube…

I want you to what you like and make the game the way you want to. Makes for a better game in the end

So long as it’s nothing too crazy I would be happy to write out a couple of short-ish weight descriptions…

Just need to know how many stages you’d like and where it would end…

Skinny: You’re not exactly underweight, but there is no way that anyone could describe you as anything other than skinny, and not even the good kind of “Model” skinny even. Your ribs are just visible when you lift your arms, and your hips could best be summed up as “boyish”.

Average: Have you actually gained weight? The scale says so but it’s otherwise hard to tell, the only real change you’re seeing in yourself is the fact your ribs are harder to spot and there’s a slight curve to your hips and thighs. You can’t say you don’t like it though.

Average +: Okay, yes you have gained weight. It may only be a few pounds at most, but you can no longer see the ridges of your ribs when you lift your arms, your breasts have gone up a single cup size (hurray to being a C-Cup), and your hips subtly sway from side to side when you walk. Welcome to Curvesville, population everyone (and now you).

Chubby:

Chubby +:

Thick:

Fat:

BBW:

Obese:

Obese +:

SSBBW:

Food:

Burger: You reach for a burger, and stuff it into your mouth, moaning (much to your audience’s enjoyment) as the hot grease and meat juice splash across your tongue in a cascade of flavour. The crunch of lettuce, sweetness of tomato, and sourness of pickles making each bite different as you tear through your first quarter pounder before, finally, licking your fingers clean of any lingering sauce.

Pizza: Strings of cheese dangle down onto your chest (cleavage at higher weight stages) as you pull the folded slice of pizza from your mouth, cheeks bulging as you chew through the mouthful of dough, cheese, grease and sauce, while you close your eyes with pleasure before finally swallowing. Your tongue hangs out of your mouth as you pant for breath before bringing the folding up slice of pizza back to your mouth.

Ice-Cream: It’s taken you far too long to finish this gallon tub of ice-cream and the last half of it has melted down to be barely more than sweet sludge which slipd off of your spoon and splashes back into the carton leaving spots of sticky cream splatered over your front. Taking a moment to think before you put your spoon to the side, and simply hoist the carton to your lips, and titling it back. Chugging the melted slurry of sugar, syrup, and chocolate chips down like the worlds thickest milkshake. Your chat going wild before you drop the emptied carton to the side, your mouth surrounded by a ring of melted cream while you huff and puff for breath.

In the current version there are 9 levels, going up to 400 lbs. The hard cap is 2000 lbs

Day 49. Two hundred seventy billion two hundred sixty million eight hundred eleven thousand six hundred forty-six viewers tuning into the stream. Nice to see that several planets, possible a solar system’s worth of people are into watching this girl throwing up a lot trying to reach overfill level 6
